What are your 3 biggest problems with GW2?
1. Sloppy mechanics (camera, targeting, platforming, broken traits)
2. Gear grind and repetition
3. Lack of end game content
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-On3Ya0_4Y)
1. There is really only 1 viable build for everyone no matter what game type or profession. DPS!!! There is zero reason to do anything but burst in this game.
2. WvW is utter garbage atm. Its only “fun” when you are running with the bigger zerg because that is the only time you are progressing at all or can actually do anything. Apparently they don’t seem to care at all though because in a year nothing has been done to stop the mass clump of zerg from ping ponging around the map spamming 1.
3. No incentive to play consistently after 80. The living story brings folks back for a few days every couple of weeks but thats it. Nothing worth doing stays permanently. New dungeons to get new weapon skins and armor would help this but apparently armors are too expensive to create to we just get town clothes and back pieces to but for real money instead. Hate to tell you anet but I’ve been an mmo player for over 10 years and none of my epic memories of great moments I’ve had in an mmo start with “I entered my credit card number and pressed buy”
Gotta give them credit though. For a sequel to Maplestory this game does have pretty graphics.
1. tiny biweekly updates
2. culling
3. lack of campaign after the poor quality original campaign
1) Game mechanics.
2) WvW was a huge disapointment.
3) Almost 1 year and game didnt improve nor ideas its getting worse.
1. No character progression beyond 80.
2. No End Game content beyond grinding dungeon/fractals.
3. The only answer Anet seems to have in regards to rewards is….grind.
+1
To me I have progressed my character as much as I think I can. I have 100% World Exploration, a build that’s not the most popular but my favorite, complete T3 cultural armor, more gold than i have ever had before, and a shield that personally i think looks like the coolest thing in game.
I wish I could have some project to work on that is moldable. I think of Dimensions in Rift and how many hours I could invest in projects of that nature. Or the Foundry in Neverwinter. Giving players the ability to create the content that currently the Devs are unable to deliver.
1. All Balance is done with sPvP in mind even though they have shown they can split skills.
2. Charr and everything about them, especially when it comes to Lore and the massive u turn from GW1.
3. Anet seems to hate GW Humans and has completly dumped their Gods out of the lore of the game.
For me?
1) Lack of Trinity – particularly Healing profession
2) Lack of Skill progression
3) Lack of gear progression
= Storyline sucks
= Don’t like the way we have to level up specifically to level 80 (“More to explore”? I think I’ve explored the world too much already)
= I can’t beat up two of the Guards south of Ebonhawk to sneak through the gate and make it into Crystal Desert… -_- Oh Crystal Desert, I miss you so much. You too west Magumma.

As others have pointed out, by this point, GW1 already had come out with Factions and Nightfall was on the horizon.
Guild Wars Prophecies launched April 26, 2005
Factions launched April 28, 2006
1 full year
We haven’t has GW2 for a full year yet
What exactly are they planning for GW2? We’ve already been told multiple times that they have no current plans for an expansion so what is there to look forward to other than more of #2 from above?
We haven’t had a paid expansion, but we have had plenty of new stuff: weapons, fractals, ascended gear, arenas, temporary content, holiday events. Are you only happy if a new box hits the shelves that we have to pay $50 for?
Getting close to a year old and still no gvg, team death match or dueling? Is it because you can’t tie RNG gem boxes to them?
Ok, I’ll give you that one. Touche.
For me?
1) Lack of Trinity – particularly Healing profession
2) Lack of Skill progression
3) Lack of gear progression
Yea, that was all advertised pre-launch. This isn’t the game for you.

Although I appreciate your response, I’d rather you not tell me what is and isn’t the game for me. This thread asked what are my 3 biggest problems, so I listed them. There are a hundred reasons why I love this game and continue to play it. Having those 3 things would just be icing on the cake.
As for advertised pre-launch, I was sold on this game long before any of those were advertised. Each time they came out and added a point against them (particularly about the no healer), I was crushed. It wasn’t enough to write off the game completely, but it was enough to disappoint.
1. Borked loot/reward system.
2. Borked pvp balance.
3. Culling.
Personally I think they are major/fundamental issues.
1. Lack of “fun” drops. Nothing really epic or shiny really drops. Precursores are pretty much it…but…I’ll never see one. The loot in general just feels very boring compared to other games.
2. PvP balance that screws up PvE builds. Feels like Deja Vu of early GW1.
3. Culling. It’s annoying…especially in PvE.
I need a good guild. Q_Q
If Anet doesn’t do something big soon I really think by the games 2 years anniversary the active player base is going to be cut down 60% from what it is today. More so with the new MMOs coming out this year, Guild Wars 2 won’t be able to draw new people in or keep the ones they have.
Make large content updates, separate PvE skills from PvP skills, stop with the short temp releases (this will help Anet make larger PERMANENT content), overhaul PvE for Christ sake!
They said they where going to make a MMO never before seen and what we got was WoW with better graphics.
For me..
1: More bigger dynamic event chains. Imagine huge castle sieges similar to ones in wvw only for pve. Where you need to attack from different places and have different objectives that need to be met to advance the event.
This is how I imagined Orr would be when we first started hearing about it and was more than a little disappointed it’s not. I think this sort of thing can be easily done and it saddens me that none of the dyanmic events as ambitious as I’m talking about. Make it so once they’re taken over they need to be defended too and the rewards given out from these sort of events could be limitless.
Anything from world buffs to gold to rare loot that is actually worthwhile. Precursors, I’m looking at you.
These events could actually stand a chance at failing even when they are zerged.
2: RNG. It’s not fun and a lazy game mechanic.
3: We need new weapons. Or a better weapon skill progression system.
This thread merits a dev response. I don’t want gw2 to become Farmville of MMO’s in a year…
1. Too much RNG
2. Not enough armor sets
