so i just hit 80, what is the best armor set you can get on the TP with gold? i read somewhere that there is a box you can buy for gold that grants you an entire armor set, what was the name of that?

i want to get geared for WvW so can you suggest me what gear i should buy from TP? i am warrior

Well, that depends on if you want Beserkers stats. I know that it’s a very popular choice, but I’ve also heard people ridiculed for wearing zerker armor in inappropriate situations, like against bosses who don’t take critical damage, or without paying enough attention to mitigate zerker’s focus on pure damage, rather than defense.

So, again, it’s a popular choice, but you might want to do some reading about strategy, specifically in WvW, or get some advice from other players who do WvW a lot. (I’m mostly in PvE, so I’m not qualified to help you pick a stat set.)

Draconic armor is exotic by default, so it’s the best you can get at level 80 unless you want to take the deep dive into ascended armor. (Ascended armor is extremely expensive and takes a long time to get, so just think about exotic armor for now.) You’re probably aware of this, but “draconic” just describes the look of the armor, while “berserker’s” describes its stats, so if you don’t like the look of draconic armor, you have lots of alternatives.

As for buying an armor box, Flissy suggests that you just buy the individual pieces off the trading post, instead of buying them all at once. I haven’t looked at the numbers, but (s)he’s probably right that it would just be cheaper to gear up with individual pieces than to buy a box.

If you have lot’s of karma you can buy orr temple set. Good idea if you want PVT (power, toughness, vitality aka soldier) gear.

Even in WvW, you will want to determine if you’re going to run with the zerg or roam solo or with a small team. You will want different armor for those situations. For zerg, you’ll likely want to stick with something like Soldier’s or Knight’s or Valkyrie. Those will give you some extra vitality/toughness. Berserker gear is all power, and even as a warrior, you’ll die faster in a large zerg wearing that. But if you want to roam solo or small group, you do want Berserker because you need to kill one or a few people very fast, so hence you want more power. You won’t be getting hit by 50 people at once, so you don’t need as much vitality and toughness. I highly suggest looking in the warrior subforum for some builds specific for WvW. You will probably gain a lot of knowledge and can even post up a build and ask for advice.

It depends on what type of armor you want to use. Zerker war can be cool for roaming in wvw but its bad if you plan on zerging.

You would be better of with PVT or clerics or Valk or a mix and match for zergs.

If you have been active in wvw already or got some badges of honor from achievement chests, check out the Invaders Armor from the vendor in wvw.

You propably want to go Soldier (PVT).

Well you can stick with Berserker trinkets and rings if you’re looking for good roaming gear. If you have laurels saved up you can get ascended ones with those. You can also get ascended trinkets with guild tokens and with WvW tokens, and combinations of said stuff, as well as some ectos. However, if you’re not sure about exactly what build you want, you should hold off on spending those time-gated things on ascended pieces. You can make due with exotics in all areas. Trust me, you’ll kick yourself if you splurge on ascended items too soon. You can do a search on the TP for exotic level trinkets. But I believe that other than the new back item from the LA living story, the only place to get exotic back pieces are from karma vendors in Orr, or from a guild merchant.

I wouldn’t waste karma on this, as you can buy soldier armor on the TP now, or buy the insignia and craft it yourself.

Well, I guess it depends, but gold is usually easier to obtain than karma is for me.
