What class should i level next
what do you like to do? pve/pvp/wvw? Do you prefer caster or melee

I like pve, pvp is fun also, i do not have a preference, i like both caster and melee.
Both are great options and very useful. Guard would be a little easier if your still learning the game. Both have a good learning curve, but Guard is little easier. My suggestion, since you already have a heavy, make an ele next, then make guard, have fun.

I’d say diversify and go for a caster (ele).
That being said, Guards have completely different play styles to Warriors, the only similarity being that they both wear heavy armour. Guardians are also semi-casters so might be a nice compromise before going full caster.
Then again, being able to skin / gear up a nice ascended Guardian would be nice. I currently have most of my skins as heavy armour so whenever I play a light or medium toon they always look a little lacklustre
Guardian / WvW Enthusiast
Going from warrior to ele is going to be a rude awakening in terms of survivability ;-) If you’re up for more of a challenge, go for ele. It takes a lot of work to play ele well.
Going from warr to guard would be a smoother transition, and also offers a ton of party support. You’ll bring reflects, condition clears, stability, aegis, and blinds to the party — a good guard is always a valuable party member.
Another way to look at it: If you like dealing DPS, go ele. If you like saving your party from certain death, go guard
Make a Ranger
|Daredevil|Ranger|Guardian|Scrapper|Necromancer|Berserker|Dragonhunter|Mesmer|Elementalist
|Deadeye|Warrior|Herald|Daredevil|Reaper|Spellbreaker
Ele and Engi are probably the two most difficult professions to play, that said they’re a Blast to play.
Way I see it is warrior will teach you the basics of using your basic tools and learning to dodge. Playing Guard will teach you to fully respect active defense and things like blinds and reflects. You should also learn the value of working for the betterment of your team, where you may want a certain utility another one may be better for the group overall. Engi/Ele puts that all together while adding in Combo finishers and cooldown management. They’re truly the pinnacle as far as the complexity of the professions. Not to say that every Ele/Engi is some great player and every War is bad, just that the possibilities for each profession has those two really at a different level if you want to use everything you have available.
no one, with the new trait system, leveling in GW2 is really not fun, luck i have 1 of each class lvl80 before change.
level necro
fun rotation with power builds (either DS or D/D are challenging to master), top tier DPS and party support!
Condi can shine too, especially on world bosses or in speedruns in synergy with LB ranger with bear.

It’s not nearly as bad as people make it sound. At least not for me, I got 3 stacks of SP scrolls sitting in my bank so buying traits is nice and easy.

K… it isn’t that bad
Mesmer and Ele are 2 of my favorite classes so I would vote for ele since that is on your list. They are just too much fun and are good for any situation imo.

No offense but if its not that bad, why would you use sp scrolls to buy traits instead of unlocking them. Of course nothing is ever bad when you dont actually have to do it :/, Hey leveling is easy I have tons of Tomes of Knowledge

People will usually go for the quickest and easiest way to do things regardless of the situation. Even before the changes, players would craft to 80 instead of doing pve at all to level.
I admit I am not a fan of the traits part but its still not as bad as people make it out to be.
oh thats perfectly fine, no arguement here, its just a little hypocritical for those same people to say oh its not that bad to the people who are actually doing it the regular way lol

Can’t tell if trolling or not…
Irrespective, this is all exactly wrong, except perhaps about fun rotations. That’s a subjective and cannot strictly be wrong.
if your main goal is to be useful and demanded in parties/at events, then ele and guardian are unrivalled in the support their offer groups

Point is you have the option to buy your stuff at a reasonable price. You don’t have to go out of your way. And considering we’re talking alts I thought it was worth mentioning SP scrolls, if people aren’t saving them for alts they need to start if they want to make their altoholic lives easy
And just like Gizmo said, I’m not a fan of the trait system, it’s just not as bad as people make it out to be
