What are your thoughts now that guilds can attempt to take down bosses themselves?

Guardians will be one of the most desired and Rangers/Necros will be least desired. That much I can say for sure. The rest is relatively debatable.

Mesmers and warriors will probably have a good place too. Thieves will be on the lower end of usefulness.

Ele’s guards, warriors and mesmers are what you want in a world boss setting, everyone else is just filler for the most part.

Good call on the elementalists for frost bow etc. Agree totally.

Suspect we will also see a lot of cleric guard dodge healing all over the place. Besides that, Dps warriors.

Do you guys run bosses? Sounds like a CoF speed run lineup. I’ll admit the elementist’s have a place in the DPS race…due to might fields, but to be effective you’d want thieves stomping while warriors save their might application for mid battle.

Necros are huge with wurm. Mesmers can do what? Get in the way of might stacking? Sweet.

More organized attempts and more chance for a guild to have every will-able guildie included. I see this as a positive update. And as a time to consider bigger guilds

Yea, I don’t think that these groups will be as exclusive as dungeon groups since you often have to be more flexible to bring enough people, but I can still see serious groups stacking certain classes as much as they can. I mean, they may allow people to come if they play a ranger, but I certainly expect them to ask those players to play their ele/guard/mesmer alts if they have them. =P

Elementalists will be HUGE, for sooo many reasons. They’re squishy, but they have SO MANY HEALS! Elementalists can also play crit chance, crit damage (arcane skills always crit), condition, power, boons, or basically any build and be amazing at it.
Also, they can summon the best weapons ever. Fiery Greatsword has the strongest damage in the game, and frost bow is no laughing matter either. Glyph of storms provides huges dps or constant blind…

Guardians will also be highly sought after, for reasons I don’t need to explain.
Warriors and engineers will kinda be neutral.
Everyone else will kinda take a backseat.

I’m not a hero. Heroes are not meant to survive, and I’ve lived far too long for that.

Time Warp will keep mesmers in a spot well above rangers/necros.

Throw in a couple of Mesmers for quickness, and a guard or two for might/heals, and that sounds pretty much like the perfect boss clear :P

Also why are you trying to Crit things which don’t have the ability to be crit? Somebody has a case of the elelove.

Ehmmm not really. Read my post again. Our arcane skills ALWAYS crit and have a rather short cooldown. Building huge amounts of crit damage will result in extremely powerful attacks… building the rest into power.

I’m not a hero. Heroes are not meant to survive, and I’ve lived far too long for that.

Doesn’t mesmer’s staff phantasm hit pretty well when you have the full gambit of conditions on the enemy? IIRC it was like 40-50k+ /shrug.

No idea about rangers, but at least last time I tried having a few necros on your group was great for jungle wurm because of epidemic, it made killing the adds a LOT easier.

It’s a pile of Elonian protection magic, mixed with a little monk training,
wrapped up in some crazy ritualist hoo-ha from Cantha.
A real grab bag of ‘you can’t hurt me. They’re called Guardians.

Staff warlock on a zerker build is actually quite incredible in raid settings. Possibly the highest dps of all classes. Guang knows a lot more about phantasms than I do, he once made a list showing mesmer was pretty good once all phantasms were reliably out.

Eles and Guardians will definitely dominate heals. You can’t dodge megaboss oneshots forever.. there’s a reason people don’t run zerker gear at teq. This is when healing becomes important.
