Regards, Ateahri the Fallen
(edited by Ateahri.6794)
Hi,
i have just theoretical question.
what class you Like to see in later DLCs?
for me its dervish and new weapon scythe
or even paragon with throwing spear and shield
and the new location could be crystal desert and elon river
about the dragon to conquer, it could be kralkatorrik
what do you think about it?
leave comment.
[edit]
Meabe not class but spec.
Ahai,
Elite Specializations
Guardian – Paragon – Polearm/Spear
The arid plains have worn out the soldiers, a commander has to stand up to motivate these soldiers to jump back into the fight for a greater cause.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/guardian/What-next-elite-spec-do-you-expect/firstRanger – Nomad – Hammer
The ranger knows the environment well and they knows how to shake it up. With heavy blows of their hammer they squash scarabs while using new and improved beast mastery to better control their pets. (Bunny Thumpers!)
Warrior – Dervish – Scythe
Guardian – Paragon – Polearm/Spear Shield
Revenant – Ritualist – Scepter Focus/torch
Ranger – Nomad – Hammer
Elementalist – Imp Master – Mace/Focus

Ahai Ateahri,
I personally hope A-net will not add any more classes.
We have 3 for each weight class and I hope it remains as such.
This is to ease balance and play.
Many who now main a Revenant had to restart the game and exploration solely to be able to enjoy a new style of gameplay.
Instead I’d like to see the Elite Specializations expanded upon.
A Paragon-like Elite Specialization could work great with either Guardian or Warrior for example.
Seeing as you appear to be interested in Elona, its culture and environment:

Is a thread intended to contain all suggestions, requests, speculation and hype regarding the beautiful land of the golden sun.
May you never fight alone,
-Nero.
I am already very satisfied with the classes in this game. When I look what nonsense and pseudo-cool Naruto-fanboy classes and jobs the competitors of GW2 have and when I check what we got I would say we’re good in that matter.
Or do you want to see “Ninjas” or “Pirates”? I am sure ArenaNet was clever enough to pull a brainstorming and a flipchart and write down their ideas. When you put it up in a circle, you want to have all classes that are great to have in the game on each side and the opposite (gameplay-wise) of each on the other side respectively.
E.g. Warrior type (strong, tanky) <- → Elementarist (fragile but powerful magic) or Ranger (bow and arrow, connected to nature and earth with living beings as helpers) <- → Engineer (firearms and destructive weapons and machines, cold and made from steel)
If can’t think of anything that would be missing here – that also makes sense and that would we really need to fill a gap.

Oheyo Nero,
That is not that stupid idea actually, for example guardian could have paragon elite spec
and warrior could have dervish like spec. that is pretty cool thinking thanks.
I’m actually hyped at all kind of gw lore. Canthan too
Hi @Zedek
We actually have pirates and ninjas…..
We can call engineer a pirate and thief a ninja.
I’m just missing ritualist like class, and dervish

i would add
Warrior – Dervish – Scythe
True minion summoner or spirit spammer. Still hoping for a ranger spec that will allow you to have two pets out at the same time . . . permanent-like.
Not holding my breath though.
Edit: Imp master for elementalists could be interesting.
(edited by Ardenwolfe.8590)
Assassins, they were my most loved Class in GW1, and were nothing like thieves in GW2.

imp master sounds cool
Warrior – Dervish – Scythe
Guardian – Paragon – Polearm/Spear Shield
Revenant – Ritualist – Scepter Focus/torch
Ranger – Nomad – Hammer
Elementalist – Imp Master – idk what weapon
As always: ritualist.

i liked those assasins too
The only thing that I want is a specialization to make necro shines in PvE
I’d like some sort of magic brawler that punches people while dual wielding focus weapons. Maybe as thief/mesmer/ranger elite spec depending on the theme of magic.
Warrior
Paragon
spear + offhand
ranged tanky support as the paragon was
Warrior
Paragon, Dragoon, another name?
Spear, but 2 handed
offensive rusher
I doubt we will get dervishes again since they are tied to human Gods and the game could not get away with Charr dervishes for example. I also dont think we will ever see new weapon types, since a scythe for example would have to be introduced for multiple classes to be viable enough for resources to be given over, plus extra work needed to pull out a ton of skins to bring it up to speed.
They could find a way to emulate it on a Revenant which has some similarities. Or perhaps necro which is the closest light armoured class.
Paragon with spear and shield seems like a sure fire call at some point though. Id guess guardian would have that elite.
I think we will only get Paragon/Dervish if we ever get to elona.
I don’t think we need more new classes, what we really need is more elite specs to give us true variety.
When they said new classes I think they did mean more elite specs xD
As Dervish has magic it would more than likely be that guardian would get Dervish and warrior would get paragon xD
Engi is a spiritual successor to ritualist.
I would like to see a spellblade for ele, give them a sword and have their attunement surround the sword.
And thief with a rifle like a sniper xD as their ranged weapons have short range right now and could do with a long range weapon.
Ranger could get beast master or something like that, less damage than regular pet but having 2 or 3of them with the scepter working like a whip.
I would love Mesmer to be given instruments and have a bard type class xD
Just a couple of ideas xD
Realy cool ideas
New Elite Spec: Elementalist; Priest(ess) of Dwayna. DPS (Water specialization), Healing and Condition management/transformation. Not sure what to suggest for new weapon unlock.
Some will say “No Healers!!” but frankly Anet already opened this pandora’s box with Druid. Cat’s out of the bag. Add another elite healer spec now will allow Raids to fill the healer slot with an Ele elite spec instead of a Ranger elite spec.
Ok, you can shoot me now.
And thief with a rifle like a sniper xD as their ranged weapons have short range right now and could do with a long range weapon.
Add in a true stealth that breaks when entering combat, not after a few measly seconds, and I would be so so so so happy. Could even have it so that the tougher the mob, the better their chance of seeing you? Or also work in Line of Sight? Example- If you are in the mob’s field of vision, they have a chance of spotting you moving in stealth. Stand still (OMG DONT EVEN BREATHE!!) until they turn away/move on, and then you could start moving again. But Vet’s, Champs, Leg’s, etc… have a better chance the stronger the mob (Bosses wouldn’t be fooled) of seeing right through your stealth.
(I’ve played Rogues and Thieves for 17 years in various games, and a real stealth is something I miss a lot when just exploring around or whatnot)
Derwish for the warrior, don’t you dare giving it to thief or rev!
Dervish as a warrior spec? Maybe. Scythes? No puppying way; and I will continue saying so until the day I die. “Scythe” is not a good weapon type because scythes as most people understand them, and as appeared in GW1, are NOT effective weapons. They are meant for gathering grain, and therefore are symbols of death, but they are designed awful for being proper weapons. Historically, even when scythes were used in combat, they were typically modified to place the blade parallel with the shaft, effectively making them into glaives. The main point here is thus: scythes are polearms. We should have polearm as a weapon type, and some/all classes can even use them as partial/total slashing weapons, and there can even be scythe skins. But if we get scythe as a weapon type, we will never get proper polearms and it will be a pile of steaming filth dropped on sensible fighting.
The -other- thing I have to say regarding dervish, however, is this: Although it works as a warrior E-spec, I think that it could also function well as an Elementalist E-spec combined with the use of a sword. This is because A) Elementalist would benefit from a true melee option and sword works well and B ) Elementalist with a sword can fulfill Slashing, Wind Prayers, Earth Prayers, and all the like that defines Dervishes within GW and other lore. Since warriors need a good spec, and we need polearms, they could maybe still end up having them as some sort of Monk or Paragon class.
Another interesting possibility, I’d say, is Rangers (or another suitable class) gaining main-hand dagger as a throwing weapon, with some kind of a Trickster/Acrobat/Assassin spec.
So basically, I’m going to take a (perhaps semi-unpopular) nontraditional approach to some of the ideas and say:
Warrior – Monk/Paragon – Polearm
Elementalist – Dervish – Sword
Ranger – Assassin – MH Dagger
Thief – Sniper – Rifle
Engineer – Trickster- Shortbow
Guardian – Paragon/Tactician – Warhorn or Polearm
Mesmer – Inquisitor OR Bard – Polearm OR Warhorn (respectively)
Necromancer – Shaman – Mace
Revenant – Ritualist – Torch or Polearm
I do believe Gw2 has the potential to have “new” classes, but if I was to say any new classes, id say 1 per armor type, since 9 is already alot and with specializations more or less replacing future classes, it would add alot of strain with anymore than 12.
As to what kind of classes id like to see? Funny enough ive actually come up with 3 concepts of my own using old GW lore “and” new GW2 lore to mingle them from old class concepts.
Id go into massive detail but that’d require a post of its own so for TL:DR reasons ill give the summary of the ideas here:
Demonologist, (Heavy Armor) The Anti-Guardian
- Similar to the revenant in terms of lore, but unlike the revenant, this individual directly draws from the darker powers of the mists and allows them to directly mutate and afflict their body, due to their being a profession, they have a natural gift to control demonic mutations.
- Uses the darker powers of demonic magic to destroy their foes.
- Class Uses Afflictions, Reverse versions of Guardian Aura’s that afflict enemies, and buff ones self.
- Secondary mechanic involves drawing blood or shadow demonic powers, these change ability effects depending which the player is attuned to at the time. Some abilities also include demonic mutations allowing demonic beings to possess your body (arms specifically) warping them into demonic weapons and replacing weapon abilities, can have up to 2 demonic weapons at a time (including the same one twice).
- Weapons include variations of mutated arms such as giant claw hands, scythes, whipping tendrils, or an elite skill that turns both arms at the same time into a giant set of spider blades.
- Also possesses sigils, shouts and with specializatoins, glyphs (option 1) or physical attacks (option 2)
- Can wield:
Dagger (MH), Scepter, Focus (Offhand), Torch, Warhorn, Shortbow, Trident, Axe (MH and Offhand), Focus (MH Specialization 1), Sword (MH, Specialization 2)
Arbiter, (Medium Armor) The Wandering Mage
- Attunes to the very powers of magic throughout Tyria, drawing energies from the various Laylines across the world.
- Serves as a form of guardian to the worlds magic, adept in dowsing energies into themselves and expelling it in a positive or negative way depending what they need it for.
- Main mechanic is an attunement system, choosing a specific attunement which passivly benefits the Arbiter as they continue to fight in combat. Each attunement has tiers of benefit, which at full tier, confer a passive boon to the Arbiter and in some cases, to allies.
- System works by percentage, for example, remaining in combat until the attunement of magic reaches 20% increases the arbiters power further.
- Secondary mechanic involves spending this attuned energy via skills and abilities to empower their potential.
- Can Wield:
Staff, Focus (MH and OH), Torch (OH), Scepter (MH and OH), Dagger (MH and OH), Pistol (MH), Torch (MH Specialization 1), Pistol (OH Specialization 2)
Vestal, (Light Armor) A Melee Monk
- Former Monks and Assassins coveted to form a unique new type of hero, spreading their teachings from race to race in secret.
- The Vestal operates as a neutral minded individual thats personal goal is to enhance ones sense of self, their magic operates by personal zeal and individuality. The more sense of zen in their purpose the more powerful their magic, which is translated into melee attacks.
- First unique mechanic involves techniques, F1, F2 and F3 serve as extra abilities for your weapon depending which weapon you wield at the time.
- Secondary mechanic allows the Vestal to wield a main or offhand weapon independantly and gain a full set of abilities if only wielding the one, they passivly gain twice the stats from a single weapon while its wielded.
- Can Wield:
Sword (MH/OH independantly or together), Focus (MH/OH independantly or together), Scepter (MH/OH independantly or together), Axe (MH/OH independantly or together), Pistol (MH Independantly or with another weapon), Torch (MH/OH Independantly Or Together), Pistol (OH Independantly or with another weapon Specialization 1), Greatsword (Specialization 2)
A true battlemage or spellsword enough said.
What profession would I like to see in the next expansion you say?
This thread is moving in this direction: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Suggestions-Future-Elite-Specializations/first
I would also love a bard class, maybe a kind of melee duelist which means single blade character with fancy agile moves and playing some instruments in one hand, while a lute or drum requires 2 hands.
