What gear(s) should I be working towards getting and how do I obtain them?

Which craft should I master first as an Elementalist? How about as a Guardian?

What else should I be working on? Are there dailies?

So far I’ve only been doing WvW, tried out fractals (which I heard can be done three times for the daily completion award), and then completed a few maps here and there. I’m not sure if I want to go for full map completion – the world is so huge! There is so much to do on GW2 that I’m not sure where to begin.

Gear-wise I heard I should get Exotic gear first then go for Ascended but I can already buy some Ascended gear with Laurels… Should I be buying them with Laurels?

Any and all advice is highly appreciated.

Note: This is end-game without Heart of Thorns.

Gear depends on what you’re looking to do. If you want to actively do WvW and PvE, you’ll likely find obtaining multiple sets of armour to be most beneficial. Unless anything has changed recently, most people prefer you to player with Berserker stats in Fractals. And then something more tanky in WvW, PVT or Knight’s (I think).

Unless you’re looking to do higher level fractals, there’s no necessity to work toward Ascended gear. But you might come across some groups in the game that make ascended gear a requirement to join them. Usually in raids, but since you don’t have HoT, this isn’t an issue you’ll run into often.

P.S If you’re looking to play a more condition orientated build, Sinister gear would work. You won’t have access to Viper gear stats (the other preferred condition stats) without HoT.
