What do we expect for 55 euros/$?
I expect them to stay loyal to their preachings.
I expect them not to do ‘bait and switch’ since it’s agains’t the law both in EU and US.
Also In European Countries the “Unfair Commercial Practices Directive,” legally requires a manufacturer to accept returns under bait and switch conditions
Aside from fixing the necro minion AI bug, i don’t really mind/care on what direction they are gonna go, since i’m totally fine with gear progression, or game without it etc.
I just hope they are able to keep somekind of playerbase no matter what they decide to do. I wouldn’t want game to die completely.
I expected exactly what was being sold, and after 3 months of being baited it got switched.
1. No matter what environment (Dungeons, PvP, WvW, PvE) the gear was supposed to be the same, the stats would be the same. This is not true, you can not get some stats on PvE gear you can in PvP, some PvE gear is divided up in Dungeons, Karma and Crafted/drops (for stats).
2. There would be no gear tread mill. This was switched, now gear grind is a part of the game, something I specifically did NOT want in a game I was buying. Something that was specifically stated would NOT be in this game. Yet, here it is.
3. Pay to win would not be part of this game’s online store offerings. Yet now we have the newest gear grind goodies, Ascended gear, that will require the mystic forge and according to their own words, even more future additions. This requires Mystic Stones, coins, etc. If you aren’t lucky enough for them to drop, you will have to buy them. Pay to Win.
When I buy something I expect to get what I am paying for, not lied about.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…

At this point I’m just waiting for my refund and my €55
A game that’s fun to play.
I know, what an inconceivable concept!
finish a sPVP map without stucked in a loading screen again …
The product that was advertised not one that is the opposite of what they claimed to be selling me! (Fraud/Bait-and-switch/Scam)
Oh, and if you were a good customer you would have spent more than the game price by buying gems too. This game for me has been about three times more expensive than my previous sub based games. I was fine with that, in fact I bought gems to support what they implied they were attempting to do in all their ads and pre-release statements. (False advertising)
No more will I be a customer of theirs. My wallet has officially closed. As soon as I make contact with a few friends in game to say farewell I’ll be asking for my refund and deleting this game which had held such promise in my eyes. (I’m irate)

A usable tool for finding grps the tool they have allready is the worst excuse i have ever seen for a lfg tool even the most cheap f2p titles have better tools then this its just a joke that i have to stand at the dungeon entrance for days and shout in the chat because i want to do a storymode.
I am sick of having to grind out Play styles I don’t like.
I like SPvP the most then a little world PvP.
To get my world PvP gear I grinded out PvE hard for a long time, Because I thought I would never have to do it again.
Now, Boom they are sending me to dugouns this time to do the grind again.
I’m out. Right now my play time is 80% doing stuff I don’t like 20% doing stuff I do like.
If there must be a grind because that is the only way they can keep people playing. LET US GET IT FROM ANY PLAY STYLE. I want to do the this I enjoy not do the things I hate because I need shinnies.
Value for money
$60 = ~8 movies = ~16 hours
$60 = skyrim = a few days/weeks of entertainment
$60 = GW2 = ~3 months worth of playtime already
Seriously some of you guys complain as though the folks at ANET owe you 1 million dollars, everyone else is enjoying the new content——FOTM is so much fun, thumbs up to whoever made it. It plays like a puzzle game without hordes of trash mobs. Awesome. <3
Gyros?
An upset stomach
I’m having a good time. I had a few new friends join recently. Hopefully a few more husbands, wives, families on the way.
I’m a bit nervous about the whole have/have-nots ‘seeming’ direction, but I won’t know how it impacts me until I see how my WvW experience plays out in the long run. I will never have anything better than what I can craft myself without ‘crazy’ money. Right now that is exotic. If the gap gets to big and I can’t do anything in WvW any more, then it might cease to be fun for me.
Too early for me to tell now though. Right now I’m still having a lot of fun.

I played roughly 500 hours and now quit playing. I think I got my money’s worth for the box price.
But I am not going to continue in a game that now goes the road other MMOs have all gone before. I prefer a game with better story telling and leveling experience then. GW2 isn’t that for me.
Money is a bad metric for measuring the value of the game. If you ask me, “Did I get my $60 worth from the game?” then the question misses the point.
Time is much more valuable than money. Money comes and goes; time is a permanent investment. The time I spend in the game—not the money—reflects my passion for the game, and my personal investment in the game.
So the bigger question is: What do you expect out of a game that you’ve invested 500 hours in?
honesty and integrity. are those too much to ask?
I don’t want a gear grind or pay to win and I cant stand pvp imbalance. These are all the reasons I dont play wow, war, swtor, star trek, aion and rift.
However, given some of the recent games I have bought, this has been by far the best value for money. Sadly, games that get produced these days lack any sort of staying power. 20, 30 hours and your done. I’ll get months and months of play out of GW2, and who knows, maybe even years. So worth £40 with no monthly fee? hell yeah.

And taking $60 as the value is also wrong. Many have given more, (in some cases) much more money to the cash shop. So it’s not really “only” $60.

I only got 1 1/2 months of entertainment out of GW2. I got much, much, MUCH more from Skyrim, thank you.
People would be enjoying the new content if other people were actually playing it instead of grinding for gear.

Fine, you grinders got yours, where’s mine? I don’t care that they added content. I don’t like the better gear, but at least give me a way to get it without being forced to do things I hate. Don’t tell me the dungeons are fun. I tried them. I hate them.
Actually, what I want from ANet would have cost them less in development than their current “choices”.
It’s all about bad design decisions. The only problem I have that is ostensibly fixable with more money is the culling graphics issue in WvW. Everything else, from a hundred issues in WvW to the splitting of the community in Fractals would have cost less/the same to develop correctly.
I think most people got their moneys worth – but I was disappointed that it is not going to be my long term MMORPG – I really wanted one.
