Hate to say this but player’s don’t know what they want. It is becoming increasingly evident that the majority of players want to do is grind super easy content(champion farming) for high reward just so they can have something before someone else.

Dungeons were given better rewards but you have to do different paths to optimize your profit. Almost every path takes no more than 20 mins to complete. Both Cof path 1 and 2 can take less than 10. Do players want this? Definitely not. Looking on GW2lfg.com I rarely ever see a post that calls for dungeon trek(doing multiple dungeons). IMO dungeons need even better rewards before anyone takes them seriously even though the explorable paths are very easy once you know how to beat them.

The only solution to this problem is better scaling for these Champions and give them more devastating attacks that can 1-shot people if they don’t move if there are 20+ players on them.

I think Anet listened to the wrong crowd about game difficulty. The game is way too easy for lvl 80 content. That is unless you do Fotm level 48 or so and are a guardian.

I want to log-in and have all legendaries and skins at my fingertips

Which would allow me to say that I beat GW2 and I can move on to the next game tomorrow.

Or at least that’s what I’m getting from this forum

I’ve been playing another game a lot recently. Not a replacement for this game, a different type of game altogether. How good or bad that game is and what you think of that game is completely irrelevant to what I’m about to say.

I want communication.

I want the level of communication and community interaction those folks have with their customers in this game.

Even if you don’t like the answer, they explain everything in great detail, why they did certain things, why they are having issues with some other things. Now, they also engage the community about design choices (or they cleverly mask it at any rate), and maybe ‘design by committee’ isn’t something we want to see here, I don’t think I do, but there is a whole other level of communication that could be engaged in that isn’t.

Even down to the smallest things, like why they made it so Plush Griffon couldn’t swim. Tiny, I know, but I paid ‘real’ money for that item. Now it’s an annoying item, because I have to conjure him every time I get out of the water, instead of once per zone. A first world problem? Yeah, but the thing is, energy was put into taking his swimming ‘away’. He uses to swim. They felt they needed to spend money on ‘fixing’ that. Why?

That is just a tiny example. How about the new transmute preview? Is that a bug? If it’s not a bug, why? What could you possibly have been thinking to make the preview (in almost nearly all cases, since transmuting is largely about getting a look) be the stat or base item and not actually how it looks?

It would be nice to ask questions, and get answers.

I’d say you’re not far enough in some cases. I think as humans we lie to ourselves a lot or perhaps I should say we allow our judgment to be clouded because of we desire something.

I think all the time, that I wish I could make enough gold to buy a legendary, because I don’t find any fun in the crazy requirements required to build it myself. However right now, making that gold gives me a purpose and a goal to work toward. If I had it right now, would I keep playing? I dunno. I’d have to re-examine why I was playing if I reached my goal and see if I still had a desire to be there.

I think a lot of people do want the instant gratification w/o realizing, or purposefully ignore the repercussion.

First and foremost, I’d like to see the story take a turn to the serious. Something dire happening that changes a lot of things and makes some very big, intelligent conflict. I understand that this is a “for everyone” mmo, but lets have some stuff happen that makes people really want to go out and do help bring the world back from the brink.
Next…The constant farming content has got to stop. There needs to be some new quest series that involves easy solo able parts and some group parts. It needs to culminate in a raid style mob that after it’s all over people feel like they have accomplished something. Raids…thats something else. This game sorely needs raids. There is enough small group and solo content to last a lifetime in this game. Give us Raids with some really really nice rewards and an increased chance at precursors. Give us some really cool skins for our efforts. Raids would have the effect of making guilds even stronger than they currently are.
Lastly, bring out some more Karma stuff. It’s dropping like candy so lets give it some other uses besides the ones it already has.

It’s actually easy to see what’s happening, when you try to understand different points of view.

For some players, the point of the game is to get stuff. Those are the players willing to farm through easy and mindless content they don’t even enjoy doing, just to get a reward in the end. Under this point of view, in which someone plays just to get things, having everything in the game would basically mean beating it and having to leave to do the same thing somewhere else.

For other players, the point of the game is to have fun. Those are the players who want to experience fun content, even if it has no reward in the end. The players who want to be part of a good story, to play through a cool fight, to explore a world with nice things to find, and so on. For those players, having all items in the game is just a way to have more versatility in their characters, but it has little to do with actually playing the game, much less beating it.

The first group of players causes a vast myriad of issues. The most prominent right now is: if people don’t enjoy what they are doing, but rather want the reward in the end, they will want to get the reward as quickly and as easily as possible. To many players, this means using every resource available to them, even if that means exploiting. Which is exactly what we saw in Orr – hordes of exploiters going through content many of them didn’t even enjoy, just so they could get their rewards faster, even if that meant antagonizing part of the community.

Meanwhile, the second group of players follow more closely what (most) people do in real life. We go watch a movie because we want to enjoy the experience of watching something fun, as opposed to going to see a bad movie expecting to be paid for it.

“I think that players are starting to mature past the point of wanting to be on that
treadmill, of being in that obvious pattern of every time I catch up you are going to
put another carrot in front of me” – Mike O’Brien right before Ascended weapons

What do I want… Correctly scaled dungeon reward and the removal of the token nerf.

Oh, and UW and FoW to make a comeback in their old glory (as in, unique rewards tied to a challenge). Once they do that, I’ll probably be set for at least a year.

ANet keeps trying to make harder content. The problem is that they focus too much on big hits. This plays right into the limited resource invulnerability mechanics that were put in to “replace” dedicated tanking and healing. Pressure from constant, faster, smaller hits would be a better way to create challenge because it could not all be mitigated.

Amen. UW, FoW, UW, Deep and DoA were awesome in GW and there is nothing like that here. Fractals could have been, but just … isn’t.

I want more lengthy difficult boss chain events and faction/gvg open warfare outside of wvwvw. Sure, dueling some day, but open-world gvg/factions imo would/could be rather epic. Having extensively played games like UO, SWG, EVE, I find it a worthy element that is missing here.

Personally, I would just like a balance of rewards across all content. I don’t necesarily want it fast or easy, I just don’t want there to be one definite way to get the best stuff (generally Gold) faster and easier than anywhere else. Having it like that, which is what we have now, just kills the rest of the game for the rest of the players who don’t like doing the in thing of the moment.
