As title mentions, I feel like I’ve currently hit a wall as far as things to do in game. But, not in the way that I’m bored with the game, I’m not burned out at all. I love this game and what it has to offer, I am curious as to what you all do in game after your dailies? I’m sitting on 8 legendaries and 5 sets of ascended gear, and I feel as though I log in and do t4’s, Bloodstone Fen dailies/meta, and AP dailies and I find myself sitting in front of the bank in LA. I love this game and want to play, but I feel as though I am out of ideas to play!

First, I don’t do the dailies every day. I take a look at what’s up for the day and decide then whether or not it sounds like fun. But, whether I do them or not, my game time is devoted to a list of things I have going on at any time. Forcing myself to do them, even if the activity doesn’t interest me, feels way too much like work on a Monday morning at at job I hate.

I just finished up my second legendary after having crafted my first precursor. So, I spent a lot of time doing things for that.

Other activities (in no particular order):

(1) Gathering runs – I try to supply my crafters with the mats they need. I still have to buy some but try not to.

(2) Alts – I have a serious problem…and I know it. I love to create and level alts. Unfortunately, I am also compulsive about map completion on all of them. So, I spend some time doing that.

(3) Starting with SW, I acquired all of the armor pieces associated with it…since I like their looks. Just finished doing the Leystone collection. I also did (for my ranger), the specialization collection to get the ascended staff.

(4) I sometimes get on a JP kick (not good at them…sometimes just like to try and finish a few more).

(5) Living Story. Always try to get that done on a number of characters.

(6) Personal story for alts coming up…always do this…mainly for the rewards that come at about level 50-60…lots of unidentified dyes.

(7) World boss train…not often but sometimes.

(8) WvW if I need anything (like for my legendary).

(9) Guild activities…missions or fractals/dungeons if people want or need them.

(10) Any seasonal or current event stuff that sounds interesting.

In the end, I just do what I’m in the mood for at the time. If I’m not having fun, I either switch activities or log off and do something else. But, that’s the real deciding factor…am I having a good time?

I used to:

  • Run around, zone explore on 1 of 9 characters that don’t have the gold star, while doing random events and harvesting mats to sell.
  • Jump into WvW to advance a reward track, mostly via roaming.
  • Do events in HoT or SW, maybe (or maybe not) completing a meta.

Right now, I log off after either collecting the login reward or completing three tasks that I can do playing KB only with my off hand (due to a medical issue ).

I’m solo building a guild hall. Had 8 friends help me claim it, now I’m farming all of the materials and doing easy guild missions myself. In order to get necessary materials & favor. I have to do PvP & WvW dailies to get PvP potions etc.. Keeps me very busy and there’s always a goal. Guild hall is now at level 15. Also belong to a very active guild where I contributed about 75% of the mats to bring the guild hall to level 65.

In no particular order, also depends how I feel, time of day and how much time I have to play; (usually I do my daily last, if I get it done doing what I do then bonus, if not I give it a glance and see what is missing)

-Fractal T4 Dailies
-Chak Gerent if it’s about time for it.
-WvW killing/escorting Dolyaks and camp flipping mainly but sometimes I follow the zerg too
-sPvP
-Treasure Mushroom killing
-Auric Basin events/Octovine (no multiloot, idc if other people do it, but I consider it an exploit)
-Temple events if they’re up for recapture
-Tequatl/Triple-Headed Wurm.
-Tangled Depths- Alts open 4 chests which are near each other nearly everyday.

So all of this stuff is to personally get achievement points/titles I want/more ascended gear(working on armor set 4 via Fractals)/gold for my next legendary) I’m a bit of a multitasker given I don’t get a lot of time to play mid-week.

That’s basically it ^^

Kitten.

I’ve set a number of goals for myself. I have a number of alts which play differently. I enjoy completing VB for example so I’ve done that on a number of characters. My characters all play differently, so a ranger with a longbow and a power build is going to play very different from my ranger with a short bow and a condition build.

Beyond that, I run guild missions once a week and some kind of guild event on another day. I hang out with the guild in mumble. If people need help with stuff (which happens on many days) I help them, either with achievements or dungeon running.

There’s only so much you can do solo, but with a group of people all working on different goals, helping them with their goals is a way to enjoy the game all over again.

I rarely do the dailies, unless I happen to be playing WvW that day (in which case I usually get 3 just by playing normally) or I notice I’ve done 2/3 and I find an interesting 3rd one.

My main goal at the moment is to finish every single personal story instance. Not just each storyline but every version of them. I’m also levelling up my 9 permanent characters (one of each profession) and trying to get them decent builds and equipment.

I also enjoy map completion so I’m (very slowly) working on getting 100% on various characters. I also need to finish off the dungeons, I have various achievements I want to complete – like all the Explorer ones and getting bioluminescent armour. I collect mini pets which means I need both a lot of gold and specific achievements (still need to finish the aetherpath achievements for the clockheart, and at some point I’ll have to do PvP tournaments for the llamas and raids for those minis). In between I periodically play WvW, do guild missions, and probably some other stuff I’ve forgotten.

Of course I don’t know how much of that is applicable to you. I’ve “only” played for about 3,000 hours so I imagine some people who have a lot more play time will be wondering how on earth I haven’t already finished all of that. But if not it might give you some ideas.

imo, it is wise to do auric basin multi map after doing dailies since this is a great if not the current best way to earn mats and gold. Do this at least once a day to net you loads of income vs time.

Bloodstone Fen is my 2nd favorite place to hang around. The ascended trinkets sold for bloodstone rubies is almost on par with legendary tier giving you the ability to change its stats for a hundred unbound magic as far as I could remember.

T4 fractals is also decent if a player is able to group with decent players so long as they know what they are doing.

WvW for fun.

I don’t bother with the dailies. They make the game feel like I have to work at something instead of just doing random stuff at will. Solo PvE is my thing, making gold from harvesting and catching the odd rare in events in HoT. I even managed (once) to find a very rare item in a large airship cargo doodad that I sold for about 250g.

After the dailies? What? Lol I have only earned like 800ish points from dailies+monthlies ever (played since launch). But I basically play to do what I want rather than what the game tells me with dailies. So if I feel like map completing on an alt I will go do that. If I want to do crafting I do that, sometimes I do a bunch of meta events or help people with hero points in HoT. Alot of what I do is linked to collections and achievements too, I like getting new skins and some special items you can earn from them.

As for my current long-ish term goals .. I want to get 100% map completion on all maps on all my 9 characters (One nearly has that, most of my other characters are closing in on it too). I have also started crafting an ascended set for my necromancer so I make sure to do neccesary things for that. Furthermore I’m trying to earn all HoT map skins (leystone/bladed/auric etc).

By mixing all the things above up I make sure I keep enjoying the game. I do take breaks quite often as GW2 is only one of many games I play (though it’s the only MMO I still play).

I do the pve dailies, I might do a wvw big spender instead if one was irksome.
I then hit a daily pvp room and get those in 5 minutes.
Might stay for a few rounds to work on a track.
Then off to Bloodstone Fen for the dailies there.
Then guild hall for gathering/dropping stuff off/getting a boost
Gather iron and flax at the farms, rotate toons through them if time
Any worldbosses that are up esp Teq / Karka
If stiill more time, a run round Cursed Shore for ori/ancient wood/karma

If Friday do guild missions.
If the weekend then throw in as much DS and AB as possible.

longer term goals include making dusk (most of the way through now) and finishing off a collection – almost done with machined weapons and then will move on to something else.

Blame Abaddon, he loves your tears.
pve, raid, pvp, fractal, dungeon, world clearing, legendary questing.. Zapped!

Depends for me.

Today after dailies, it will be guild missions (I need those commendations).

Other days, it’s a wide variety of things. Gathering, map completion, World Bosses, get together with friends and role play. The possibilities really are endless, and there’s always something to do.

I’m never bored.

Usually…

Ask guild if anyone needs any help (typical, there is some pve stuff people usually ask help with)

Do shatterer, dragon stand, multi looting auric basin (usually twice a day), farming bloodstones in the new map…. Do TT with gw2 community if the time is right.

world vs world with my necro for 20 minutes, more if we actually are in a good position.

Do a daily bolt of damask and/or Elonian square ascended stuff.

Go too the priory waypoint, turn 25 quartz crystal.

If I have time and patience, go AP farming (I have 9545 AP’s atm, soo I like too try too aim for that 10k AP chest)

On weekday evenings my time in game is super-brief… so I just farm mats and make time-gated recipes after I do dailies… if I do dailies at all.

On the weekend when i can play longer, I play around in the various HoT map meta-events, do a bit of WvW, and recently I just started a weekly key-farm. Soon I plan to reattempt learning to solo dungeons (once I settle on new builds worth trying).

During the week, I’ve only got a couple of hours free… so my routine is usually: time-gated crafting, harvest guild hall & home instance, dailies, then whatever strikes my fancy (gathering route, a couple of world bosses, current events, WvW… whatever… zero interest in doing any more of the HoT events.) I usually finish off at Teq right after reset, and then log out for the evening.

Dailies get done by me mostly by accident… The ones that I do manage to do just happen to coincide with whatever I might be doing at the time. Mostly WvW… maybe mapping and PvE stuff if a friend is on, otherwise PvE isn’t fun. PvP only for dailies.

I see that many people come in specifically to do the dailies.. ugh.. for me it’s just ugh.. if they get done cool, if not then also cool. idc either way. Sadly since megaserver, and now wvw server linking my commitment to things in this game has dropped a lot. If friends aren’t online then I’m in and out after maybe gathering from the nodes in my guild hall and home instance…. If gathering happens to be a daily in the zone my home instance is on then that’s just a bonus..

1. Level crafting for account who don’t have ascended crafter yet.
2. Craft or farm the necessary materials for crafting ascended gear (big thumbs down to t6 leather prices)
3. Put in buy orders for some more friendlier t6 mats to support making a legendary
4. Once i have no money I go WvW

Every now and then will do HoT story (have only completed chapters 1 &2 HoT, have not started LS) to progress a bit.

Look at mastery points, and think which mastery points to go unlock so I can continue progression there … get very disheartened when groups fail and generally give up on mastery point system.

Look at achievements that I want to complete. Or collections.
