So , my question is : what do you do in Gw2 and enjoy ?

Right now Im finishing up my specialisation weapon collections, got2 left. Then I often help people i HoT maps or dungeons too cause that is fun. Thinking about getting into WvW again, havent done much so prob be fun for me. Then dont forget new alts to level, got 4 to get to 80, then I got 2 of each prof. So yeah, stuff to do. Take a break with other games if you dont wanna do anything in gw2 then come back later

Daily fractals then farm for an hour or 2 joining random pugs or w/ guildies, make 30-50g+ a day from this. Then do raids to cap shards or get guildies through, then do TP stuff make some gold, then AFK in LA till I find something to do or work on my next legendary. Poof.

Craft > mystic forge > trading post > map chat > fashion wars 2

Close friends are rarely online now so i spend most of my time browsing bltc

Story mainly. I’m working on playing through every single Personal Story instance, and getting my main characters through Season 2 and HoT.

I’m also exploring the HoT maps and doing the achievements. I want to make at least 1 more legendary at some point. I’m also planning to level 3 more characters so I can have 1 of each profession (although at least 1 of those might be done with tomes). I’ve also got some core-game achievements and collections I want to complete at some point.

If I can get through all of that before Season 3/next expansion comes along I might get bored and spend more time on other games than I do currently, but it’s not likely.

I do world completition and exploring, Jumping puzzles, and meta events in HoT maps mainly. I also do fractals once in a while when I want to have short group content. Also world bosses.
I’m thinking in beginning with legendary weapons but it’s a huge task so it scared me a bit.
If you think the whole game is boring you should better take a rest. We all get burned on games at some point.

I spend most of my time in game, out of the game reading various trading post websites to see if maybe it’s not to late to learn how to be the 1% the game is being catered too.

This ladies and gentlemen is why you don’t make game economies function like real ones. Games should never turn into jobs for the sake of pleasing people who love to do nothing more than flip markets and mess with those people who actually play the game.

Shame we can’t feasibly play the game and be reward in a meaningful way, instead we have to play the TP.

I’ve been enjoying some solo q ranked pvp play. Made it up to ruby… No way in hell I’m making it to diamond though….

I’ve also made a couple of new characters to work through the leveling process….

And I’ve been enjoying running around edge of the mists, which serves the secondary purpose of getting hero points to unlock my elite specs…..

And I spent some time farming a metric ton of wintersday presents, which yes, I found enjoyable…

And I’ve done some odds and ends farming when I felt like it…

Silverwastes VW run. Harvesting run with NPR on in background. Craft ascended mats and sell towards buying precursor. Troll map chat if the mood strikes. Mail pretty skins to new guildies. Do one of the jungle metas. Work on mastery points. Pick a champ to solo. Fractal dailies. Maybe a JP I haven’t done yet. Preview expensive stuff in wardrobe. Work on a collection. Do a couple world bosses. Manage inventory. Be terrible in sPvP. Try a new build.

If I get bored with the game I’ll stop playing and it won’t be anyone’s fault, just a natural progression. Nothing but fun memories and time I probably should have been spending more productively. My only regrets are reading the forums when I could have been playing.

I do everything you said is dead or boring, aside from WvW. My guild also does alot of things together in game, even if it isnt actually playing it like playing werewolf in the guild arena.

I get CoR’ed, (DH) trapped and (dragon) bannered in wvw.

Sometimes, I enjoy being cc’ed to death in spvp while working on my w/l ratio.

Great fun. Love the balance.

I just started doing Fractals about six weeks ago and have enjoyed learning and progressing. I started to finish Mawdrey; I stayed because it was fun and something new to explore. Now I’m caught up in advancing my personal level and increasing my agony resistance (and chasing greater rewards).

I’ve also been grinding out central Tyria masteries and chasing mastery points (another reason to do Fractals). I need one more and decided that doing all eight dungeon stories shouldn’t be too bad. I had never set foot in most of the dungeons so that’s been yet another new thing to enjoy.

I have everything I need for my first legendary except lots of gold and a precursor. Maybe some day…

Hoss: Judging from the tone of your original post, I am not sure that any answer we give is going to satisfy you. But just incase I am wrong:

You didn’t mention HoT so I would maybe start there and see if you like the new map content or the Raids maybe.

Since I don’t do PvP, WvW, Dungeons or Fractals…

I would have to say maybe try everything else. It has kept me busy for 3 1/2 years. Maybe Open World PvE is your thing instead.

I do pvp, because its the best I’ve played in any game
I do WvW, because its fun (but I do think it needs improvment tbh)
And I do… fractuls, because they are also about a billion times more fun that most dungeons in most games. Oh, and I also do dungeons because I always find a team for them in around 5 minutes.

Well, I guess it depends on the day that I have had.
Honestly, some days, just want to log in and out.
Other days, I loose myself in the game.
I have 2 accounts, the first I have been playing since pre-release.
the second, I began a few weeks before HoT.

On my first account, I have 27 characters and I play them all, with the exception of my two charr. I work toward achievements, mostly in PvE. Now, I am working on the specializations for all the characters, which is a time consuming chore. But it is what I enjoy doing. And little by little, I do map completion by doing this. I run with my guilds, do guild things and help out where I can. I enjoy the comradery of the guild.
With exception of one, all characters are level 80.
I have just started to get back into Fractals, mostly run with guildies.

That said, my second account is for when I have no desire to deal with anyone. Well, that and I fell asleep one night playing and woke up to find myself getting ready to delete myself from my own guild, needed some insurance. I have one character of each profession. I level each one up by 10, then move to the next character. My highest character is 62 at this point. I am reliving the original story, step by step. I am finding that I am enjoying this. I am not so much looking for achievements on this account, but I want to enjoy the experience, like I had not played before. I am finding that this is quite refreshing.

I don’t PvP much nor do I WvW much. maybe a couple of times a month, at most.

Do I get bored, not really. Do I get restless, at times.
I then take a break and head for world of tanks.

My available game time tends to be rather limited and prone to interruption, so I typically just do things that are relatively quick:
- Dailies (all 4 PvP, plus simple PvE stuff like gathering or vista, and possibly festival dailies when available)
- Fast world bosses like Maw or Karka if their spawn times are conveniently close.
- Cycle through alts parked at JP chests
- Chat with other Guildies
- Weekly guild mission outing

That’s pretty much it. I’ve barely touched the HoT maps in the past several weeks because trying to make any progress there ends up being way too time intensive for me. For similar time-constraint reasons, I don’t venture into Raids, Fractals or WvW.

Login and afk, even dailies have become too much of a chore really, maybe if a friend is on we poke a few world champs, and the afk again

Login, collect the daily rewards and do cursed shore sometimes

Dailies, jumping puzzles, achievements, jumping puzzles, guild missions, jumping puzzles, mucking around, jumping puzzles …and for a bit of relaxation I do jumping puzzles.

Saturdays

Log in, do 3 easiest dailies, farm home nodes. Try and do some of the guild missions with the ever reduced numbers of guildies that are online. Log out.

Raise new characters from level 1, get more loot from story quest completions from 1-80, LW and HoT. Funnel some of the rewards for doing this into setting up a nest egg for my next alt. Rinse, repeat, drowning in black lion chest keys. Send help.

Took my daughter to do Triple Trouble last night for the first time. She just reached 80 a few days ago and though she tried to hop into a run on her own, she didn’t understand how that one in particular didn’t quite work that way.

Got her in on a TTS run, and placed her on Amber (and TS) while I ran and helped with others. Successful. All 3 down.

She links me [Truth] I say that’s nice, break it, then she links [Pile of Regurgitated Armor] lolol. I say, you lucky kitten.

Roaming In wvw is what keeps me playing.

I agree that there is a lot of things that wvw is bleeding players and there is a lot that wrong with wvw, and a-net need to step up and work with their community and stop giving us what we don’t want and change the new maps to have working waypoints and make them smaller, but saying that wvw is dead is not really right.
Unless you are on the bottom servers then yes they are dead and have been for a long while, even before HoT came out, and should be merged with other servers, but the top 14 servers in EU and maybe top 8 in na do still have 24/7 ongoing matchups.
Ofc there is downtime, there always was but overall you can find nice fights in at least EB, and top servers mostly have some fights on the new maps as well.

Again don’t get me wrong wvw are in a terrible state, but it is not dead, yet.

As for the topic, i am working on my elitespec weapons which pretty much takes all my gametime outside of wvw. Wvw is the reason why i still play this game though.

Right now, I log on, grind pvp leagues for hours so I can hopefully make legendary before the end of the season and then I either do a tarir and chak gerent event (chak because I enjoy it, tarir for the title) and then I log off. I think I am probably playing as much now as I was when HoT came out (at least 4 hours a day) but right now it’s mainly just far,I got pvp that if I am honest I would much rather not do right now. That is my own fault though that I feel the need to keep playing when I don’t want to and to be honest the fact I am playing a lot is a sign that they have finally introduced something worth grinding for which can only be a good thing.

Ever since HoT came out, log in > mine rich iron ore on 46 chars > sell > log out.

Do dailies, do carebear PvP, farm chests in the four new maps, log out.

A little bit of everything really, depending on what i feel like doing when i log in. Sometimes i roam HoT maps or do some events, do fractals, pvp a bit, level an alt or work on world completion, maybe do some achievements, work on new sets of gear etc.

Only thing i barely touch is WwW. It just never appealed to me. Zerg fights bore the hell out of me, organized zerg fights you have some guy that sounds like he’s about to pop a blood vessel screaming directions( this is equal parts obnoxious and hillarious) and i’m too crappy to survive on my own roaming, roaming with a group isn’t much more fun either since it mostly just turns into ganking. Not to mention 90% of my time spent is running around looking for fights.
