Went for 100% game completetion (85% now), while at the same time shelling out all of my gold to level my alt’s cooking and tailoring. Cooking’s at 400, got there in one day and spend 2g and ~1000 karma. Tailoring on the other hand… Spent 4g to get to level 250 on day 1, then 2g more to get to 350 on day 2, 1g extra to get to 370 on day 3 and spent an other g today to get to 389, using discoveries and a crafting XP bonus boost – when they say cooking is the hardest and the most expensive profession – they’re lying their kittens off.

Nothing =\

I barely log in now. Haven’t been able to get a group together to finish up the last part of my story line and I can’t stand waiting 2-3 hours to get into WvWvW. Dungeons just don’t hold my attention and seem kind of bland. I don’t like the grinding, so getting 100% just isn’t realistic (or getting Cultural gear). Sometimes I’ll hop on, queue for WvW, go play 3 games of League of Legends or read, come back for the queue, run the jumping puzzle, and log off.

Idk, I’m definitely glad to have spent my 60 to support Anet, and the game was definitely worth a playthrough. I just don’t see any longevity in it. I still play GW1 regularly though.

Well WvW is suppose to be the main endgame, with the reason for leveling your character to be able to go out and fight for your server. the problem is level 80s cant get into WvW because of the que and all the lower level people. I really think anet needs to do what other games did and give higher level people the pass to get into WvW over lower level people waiting. Higher level people are much more effective fighting for your server

I turned 80 yesterday. I was not rushing whatsoever btw. Currently I have 3 goals: craft myself kitten gear, finish story, make every dungeon path once. After that, exploring the world itself probably wont be enough to keep me going. I will probably make another char in different starting area.
Dont know if I will manage to push myself to 100% completion anyway.

I really must say that I am dead tired of using the same weaponset and 3/5 skills for the most of the game. I play as a sylvari mesmer and it is sad that I have only one (crappy) elite skill for underwater combat. Not to mention underwater weapons.

Im sorry guys.
But i think theres a real lack of content for endgame.
Or they do something like a REAL PVP, not a structured one, or a WvW that i think its not really like a pvp.
I think about arenas, using your gear that you fought to conquer.
If they dont do something about it, it will be a 3 months game.

Then come back in a few weeks and hope endgame is better.. It will improve, but right now the game is boring at 80. Sucks, because it was amazing from 1-80. Exactly opposite of most MMOs.

People who aren’t 80, think everyone who is 80 rushed the game. -.- lol

Being level 80 this point in the game is not rushing. You must work like 12 hours a day or something. It takes almost no time to get 80, even if you play 2-3 hours a day, which I would consider very little for an MMO player.

I mean seriously… You can get level to 60 while gathering mats along the way, and then use those mats to go from 60-80 with about an hours worth of crafting. Leveling is easy. There were level 80s 2 days after launch, that is rushing. I expect a large portion of the players are 80 by now, the problem is most of them stopped playing or made alts because the dungeon grind for cosmetics is not very fun.

Orr seems to be losing population, not gaining. Something needs to be done about the end game, luckily the game doesn’t have a subscription so people will always come back when new content releases.

Not much, I’d imagine. Whilst there’s nothing stopping you, you shouldn’t really rush straight to max level in an MMO. They’re always unfinished when released and lacking in content. Same with SWTOR. I hit max level in about 1 month. I was enjoying the story so much I just couldn’t stop playing, then had to quit because there just wasn’t enough to do. I’ve heard people in GW2 who are max level say there’s nothing to do except PvP and farm karma.

Also if you’re level 80 already, you rushed. Don’t say you played normally because I’ll tell you you’re full of crap. I’ve been playing this game since day after release for between 5-10 hours a day, constantly doing quests and exploring each map 100% as I go, and I’ve only got to level 35 and 100% explored 3 maps. If you got to level 80 already then you rushed like hell or found exploits. You did it on purpose and have no right to moan about lack of content.

Playing Salad Guardian , playing sPvP with guild (rank 18 valor currently) , WvWvW with guild , working on 100% map completion and mats for Twilight (legendary) , playing Trading Post for gold (earning about 3 gold per hour reselling stuff) , Crafting in PvP and PvE for the best looking gear , Explorer mode dungeons for best looking gear , leveling thief and doing late game events when people tell them they are happening.

Although that may sound like a lot of stuff , farming for item skins , repeating heart quests in low level areas (without a doubt the most dull, repetetive and annoying thing about the game) and doing PvP that you could do since level 2 isn’t what i would call end game… If i didn’t have friends to joke around with and such i probably wouldn’t be doing dungeons at all since it feels like arena net is trying to have structured PvE although it all just turns into a large zergfest without Tank/Healer/DPS tri.

Unless they modify it and add more stuff i will probably be bored of the current content in 3 months , tops. Not saying it is a dumb game since i am clearly getting my money worth considering my play time (200 hours and counting) i was expecting more honestly.

Sorry I don’t see how that is possible if you’ve played every day since prelaunch and still are only level 21, you’d have to afk/stand around for hours a day or are only playing for like 30 minutes a day. You can get to level ~15 just by exploring the main towns (if XP rated didn’t change from beta).

Level 21 takes about 10-15 hours, and i’m being generous. It’s been 18 days since prelaunch, so that means you’d have to play roughly 30-45 minutes a day, which is far less than most people are going to play a new MMO. I think I got level 26 the night of the prelaunch (and I wasn’t rushing.. I just played for ~12 hours straight because it was fun). Virtually everything you do gives you tons of XP, I wasn’t even trying to level (ignored my level completely) and I hit 80 in 4 days after launch just by doing random stuff in the game while having fun.

As always it seems to depend how much you play the game and how efficient you are at everything. If you play 24h a day, enjoying all day, taking your time, exploring every corner of the map, you can easily be lvl80. Then you go on the forum and you say that your lvl80 and you get full of crap that you rushed.

I tried to get those exotic dungeon gear but I just don’t see the point anymore since you can’t even examine people’s gear. I mean how do you show off that you have this full exotic gear? Another thing is, I think every mmo should have a thing called “end game content”. I understand that they made everything accessible for everyone, and people are saying that all of it are end game contents but man, I did WvW to get to 80, I explored maps and do dungeons, I did sPvP. Is that it for this game? They should have at least made something that can only access in lvl cap. I mean it’s been about 2 weeks and I feel like I want an expansion already. I really love this game though, I had a lot of fun leveling but it’s just that I need more contents to satisfy my needs of gaming. I want some GvGs, Duels, Raids, open PvPs, and more dragons! So your friend has played roughly 90 hours and is level 35? That’s impossible, i’m sorry but I don’t know what you guys are doing in the game. You’d get more XP than that just by PVPing or sitting in a 1-15 zone doing events, much much more. You would get higher than level 35 just by gathering materials for 90 hours and ignoring everything else. By 90 hours, he should be pushing 60-70 even if he is casually playing the game and not focusing on leveling. ANET said they expect every level after 30 to take about 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours.

I’m going to assume he has a bunch of alts or something.

I used play the game about 10hrs a day. But now that I’m 80, I just play the game for like an hour and just stop. I tried to get those exotic dungeon gear but I just don’t see the point anymore since you can’t even examine people’s gear. I mean how do you show off that you have this full exotic gear? You sound like our entire guild on mumble. You are not alone here…

Everyone wants the game to do great, but right now it’s looking like many people will stop playing and come back after more end game content exists.

Any game could have end game content and people would reach it super fast and still say there is no end game content. There is really no such thing as end game content because people will keep reaching anything new a game adds, and of they don’t, they say the end game is too long and boring and quit anyways. -.-

This is why end game content needs to require guilds, and coordination. They want the game to be accessible, which means easy in my eyes. So people will fly through the content and get bored.

In “that other MMO”, a new dungeon comes out and it takes a couple months for a good guild to clear it. Then another dungeon is released. This keeps people playing for years. People focus so much time because it drops gear that makes their characters stronger. I don’t see people doing this for cosmetics.

I don’t want GW2 to turn into a dungeon raiding game, but anything is better than the current endgame.

Been 80 within the first week and my actual playing has kinda really slowed down. With 100% map complete, personal story done, max crafting, and have my main set of gear I usually queue for the battlegrounds and then afk in LA while I wait 2-3 hours for it to start. Been watching a lot of TV lol.

Occasionally try do do some dungeons on explore mode but half of those are disappointments because I guess I’m a rare player who knows how to use the dodge function. Once you’ve died 7 times in a row in a dungeon due to entire party wipes it gets old and boring fast as 1 v 1 fights with the boss never go well. Also now seeing and hearing lot of people using glitches to make the boss fights significantly easier which kinda defeats the whole purpose in my mind. I think some changes could be made to dungeons a bit and they would be a bit more exciting and less death.

I really love WvWvW and probably the main reason I wanted GW2 but with the long queues and once you get in half the players are trying to take a fort solo, doing the jumping puzzle, or exploring the map it can lose its fun factor since you can barely fight outside your spawning area. Then there’s some nights that you get in instantly, everyone is working together towards taking the map, people understand the basics of WvWvW and are great fun for hours on end.

If this was true, a massive number of ppl wouldn’t be addicted to WoW’s endgame. Also, endgame is what happens after leveling, if a game doesn’t have an endgame, it means there is nothing to do after lvl 80, which is not the case for GW2, there are still exotics to get and dungeons to grind through.

There is more endgame in GW2 at launch than any game in recent memory. Though I fear, since the game is B2P, they won’t add in any content until the next expansion. You know, cuz we aren’t paying for it.

Now that I’m 80, I log out and do other things, only logging in for an hour or so each day to see how my guild is doing.

I’d like to do dungeons, but I can’t stand how the difficulty is all over the place. Option X is a breeze, options Y and Z will murder you to death, and then Martha Stewart your corpse into a tasteful centerpiece for the dining room table.

So yeah, they did a fantastic job of taking the exploration out of explorable mode. You either choose the one reasonably-tuned option or you simply don’t get through the dungeon at all. Cool stuff.

I’d really like to take another shot at the temple of Balthazar out in Straits of Devastation, but the southern invasion line has been bugged for three days, making it impossible to progress any further. The whole zone has become a ghost town (Ha. Risen pun.) because there’s absolutely nothing to do out there if the zone events are broken. I spot the occasional player completing a skill point or something, but they’ve become quite rare since I first arrived in Orr.

Because of one bugged event chain, the major attraction of the zone becomes impossible to even attempt and everyone leaves. Sucks the fun right out of ya.

I’m really trying to understand this. I’m not trying to be condescending or anything, but seriously, if you’ve already gotten to the end of the game (AKA ‘beaten the game’) why are you looking for content after the end of the game?

If you’re not interested in making alts, that seems to indicate that you’re not the least interested in the story, and that your primary goal was to get to level 80 as quickly as possible.

Bearing that in mind, why are you surprised that there’s no more to do in a game that isn’t even a month old yet?

This is the same mentality that caused SWTOR to go F2P.

Nope I don’t stand around for hours and do nothing, I go to school have homeowork here and there. When I login I quest for awhile, then when I’m not questing I’m walking around looking for waypoints ect and looking for things in the game I haven’t found out about. And when people say they are not rushing and then say they got to level cap in 4 days it makes my mind boggle. -.- my friend plays everyday after work for about 5 hours and is level 35. He quests and constantly roaming around for points getting xp. If you are playing a game for more than 12 hours a day it can basically be considered rushing, more like having way too much time on your hands, but yep and I don’t mind if people rush or have too much time on their hands, it just annoys me when they complain about having nothing to do lol

I got to level 80 on my most recent character with 90 hours of gameplay over 8 days. And I spent a lot of time on cities, WvW and whatnot. I think it is quite possible to do it much earlier than that.

Grinding cursed coast pretty much. Tried the dungeons but since I made my own exotic set; really don’t need ones from those vendors. Plus they all look awful on my asura ele so I can’t be bothered.

I would love to do WvWvW but alas, server I am on has a 4+ hour que 24/7. So far, I have d/c’d every time I actually got in and then it’s back to more waiting.

Really really hope there that this will not be the norm, waiting forever to WvWvW. It is about the only end game GW2 has. But I expected this, so I am not suprised.

Love this game dearly, it’s stellar. But it needs more things to do at cap, better WvWvW wait times, and MORE pure level 80 zones. Having just one pure lvl 80 zone is not so cool imo, it’s so packed and will get even more crowded as time goes on since this is the ONLY area where mobs can drop lvl 80 items neccesarry to create top end stuff.

Ah well, no sub fee ftw. Take break next week and play the hell out of BL2.

The game has barely been out 2 weeks, there are places on the map that arent even accessible, obviously more content is going to come! They would not leave the crystal desert out or the ring of fire, something big will come but for now we must deal with no pure end game content and just enjoy the other little things.

Just hit 80 on Sunday and I basically just rolled another character and am playing that. I cannot finish my personal story solo, stuck on the elementalist Estate of Decay (no it’s not bugged, just impossible solo without boon removal) and to be honest I didn’t care for Orr territories. I leveled cooking somewhat but so did everyone else so my food is worthless. The other crafting professions are just grinds. I cannot get into WvWvW on my server due to queues but I haven’t tried much sPvP so I should give that a try.

I think my problem is that I don’t really have a guild, no one to play with. My two friends who were hyped about the game got to level 15 and just stopped logging in for some reason. I should really find a guild

Mostly just realize that the game sucks except the art style. Enjoy your end game.

Farm gold as efficiently as possible, and trying to keep my self from spending it all. Eventually I’ll (hopefully) find myself satisfied with the amount of gold I possess and start doing various things like WvW and finish up on the Personal Story.
