Keep getting defenders and healers chests, can prob make 1 or 2 full celestial sets right now. I have one full celest set for my ele but I dont use it really. What are you guys using celest for? im thinking about making another warrior just for WVW and running celestial on it

celestial is good for builds that utilize multiple attributes i.e. i use it on my ele coz my build deals conditional & critical damage while utilizing multiple boons through attunement changes. i think my mesmer uses it as well; similar reasons. Celestial also benefits from rather high ferocity so a build with high precision could see some decent use out of it as well (so long as you have fair amount of power and on-crit effects). you can certainly make a warrior build around it (longbow/sword may benefit from it a little). its just that some professions can pull it off much better than others.

I have a set of Celestial on my guardian equipped with Traveler runes. The boon duration works well with him and I do not have to keep staff equipped for a speed boost! The Celestial balances out what I lost in other possible stat boosts by going with the Traveler.

What’s celestial good for now? Mostly for salvaging. It was borderline useful when it offered high critical damag stat. After the ferocity change, single pieces might be sometimes usable to finetune stats on your character, but generally using either pure or hybrid build of normal stat sets is better.
Might be somewhat different for sPvP (since you don’t have an option of hybrid builds there).

You could try a celestial engineer in WvW if you enjoy playing an engi. Good condi/direct dmg combined with good survivability makes an engineer a prime candidate for celestial usage.

I’ve heard this set benefits eles and guardians, not sure about engineers. I own an ele and it fits perfectly because I can output healing, condition and direct damage on a regular basis during gameplay.

I have ascended celestial armor on my guard at times in WvW, and also in some open world events. I use ascended zerker trinkets, and weapons to balance it out. Works for me, say what ya will, I still have 2 zerker sets on my toon at all times to swap out for other things. Traveler runes on the celestial setup also helps.

I also have a celestial set for my warrior. I used it as base for a perplexity build (confusion on interrupting a foe) with 7-8 interrupts and it was quite fun for duelling. It was very fun and effective but i havent played it in a long while and in that time i think the rune got nerfed a bit and ferocity changed also, so i dont know how viable it is now.

Ugh, but fractals are so boring…

..not to mention some of that community need to extract their heads from their rear ends…

Celestial is borderline overpowered for roaming and small fights.

Rifle Celestial Nades with MA for engie still does very admirable damage overall with the survivablity to boot. Do a proper kill rotation on a target and you’ll murder it with minimal effort.

Babies cry about celestial D/D eles in sPvP, and you can make them cry just as equally in roaming.

Terrormancers or Unblockable Marks necro setups can do some evil things to people, give that a go.

Engi, Ranger, Ele, Necro, not for PvE. These classes have builds that can make good use of the stats.
