Q:

Hi everyone,

With the recent change to the pre-purchase of HoT most of us are getting 2 extra character slots. Personally I’m not one of those who asked for an extra character slot, I just want more information about the expansion, but well thank you Anet! I really appreciate it.

The thing is, I currently have 9 character slots (1 for each of the old professions and 1 that I used for key farming). With the previous deal I was going to be getting the extra character slot for my Revenant so it was all perfect for me.

But now I got a character slot that it seems I won’t be using, I really don’t want to make another profession since I’m not much of an altoholic, I just like having each profession available to play with them occasionally. Is there a good way to use this slot that doesn’t involves the one for keys? What do you do with extra slots?

Thank you y’all.

A:

You can make a char, get it to level 21 with tomes, park it at a chest for a daily harvest. It will pay for itself with greens, mats and the occasional silver doubloon.

Be careful what you ask for
ANet may give it to you.

I’ve already filled that slot with a Norn necro that’s going to become a very nice Reaper come HoT.

If anything, I never have enough slots. I tend to have too many ideas, both gameplay and RP-oriented, and then if something doesn’t work out and I lose interest, I usually can’t bring myself to delete the character.

You could use it as a storage mule- load it up with 20-slot bags and stack your bloodstone dust/other account bound items in it.

Because we can’t be angry about both?

Well for me, it will likely be a second Revenant. I already have 16 characters and a 17th slot with a name reserved for my Revenant. If I like it as much as I think I will, I’ll be making a 2nd one.

Well, I have 19 toons now, so… having 2 open spots for a Revenant works for me.
Just have not taken the time to figure out the race.

I’d make a mule. Cheapest way for storing a lot of things you don’t need. Like dragonite ore, sigh.

You could make another character that just uses a different race and gender from one of the existing professions you have.

Or maybe one day you’ll have a low level friend who you can make a new character with an level up together, I dunno.

If nothing else, just use it as storage space.

You could level a character to a specific point to grab lower tier crafting mats by getting level specific gear from containers (loot bags, champ bags, etc)… been wanting to do this for awhile.
