Guild Wars 2

I’m trying to get ideas on what to do in game…any ideas?

Do PvP till you figure out it is the worst pvp out of any mmo you have ever played…

I already despise the pvp in this game. I’ve leveled two characters to 80, 100% map completion, etc.

I’m a longtime guildwars 1 fan, so I’m trying to find reasons to keep playing..

You’re supposed to grind fractals all day.

I’m not far behind you in what I’ve done. Two characters to 80, one’s at 92% map completion, etc. Right now, I’m getting my feet wet in WvW so I can finish map completion, but I’m finding I don’t mind it so much. I haven’t tried sPvP but I plan to at some point. I do dungeons a lot; some fractals but I mix it up with others.

I guess if you’ve done most of everything, try doing a character on a different story path. Take your time with it. I’ve really enjoyed that. But most importantly, don’t get jaded. If your bored, do something else until more content’s released.

I dislike the PvP in this game too (I’m more of a fan of true action combat for pvp; Gw2 gets close to something I might like to focus on PvP in, but some things just don’t feel right mechanic wise… not to mention the lack of game types and stuff).

The PvE is great though; although, I do see some changes that should and need to be made for better longevity. I love to explore and although there is some incentive for it, I feel that it lacks any real “replay” value to it at times (especially lower level areas). They really need to find a way to get players circulating throughout the world again.

The Fractals of the Mists dungeon definitely brought some welcome changes, although the gear tier was unnecessary. I love how each fractal wasn’t just about grindy combat and were instead broken up with gauntlet runs and other challenges here and there. As for the agony resist I would have thought that a usable item that adds an agony resist line to the original gear tiers would have been fine.

They seem to be slowly (albeit a bit awkwardly) bringing some better longevity to Gw2, but some players may feel a bit lacking at the moment.

As far as what I do in game currently: FotM dailies, Normal Dailies, psuedo-roleplay (although it’s really just running around aimlessly doing events as I go along lol), jump puzzles, show people jump puzzles… and stuff lol.

When fractals came out, I thought they were awsome(ascended gear and that whole debacle put aside). Now, I am just getting tired of it, frustrated with them, frustrated with my groups, and it feels like a chore again. I feel the need to grind out pristines to get that ascended ring. Feels like a chore, not fun.

So Im giving the middle finger to fractals for a while, continuing with my plan of leveling all of the classes to 80, picking 3 or 4 to deck out in exotics…then begin map completions/legendary crafting and wvw. Once that is done, maybe I’ll look at fractals again..if I can find a group because everyone will be lvl 100+ by then

I do:

- Exploration (Slowed down a ton once I got to the Orr areas…)
- Dungeons (CoF, TA, and I want to get the mantle from Arah…)
- Wintersday Events (I -love- Toypoc, even if I’ve not got the “Toypocalypse Cancelled” achievement)
- Crafting
- Gathering crap for a legendary, though I’m doing this slowly
- Trying to get into the RP scene a little

I feel like I have lots to do though, and when I don’t, I might just go roleplay some to pass time (or do other things).

If you feel burnt out though, I suggest stepping back and doing some other things. Read a book, write a story or poem or do what you like to enjoy that’s not GW2 for a bit. Then come back to it after a little bit.

As of late, I run a lot of dungeons…way more than I’m comfortable with. It’s mostly because that’s one of the most time efficient ways to make money. Open World farming gives me kitten all typically, running events in Orr is mindnumbingly boring and usually not too many people there now. Running Fractals is something I’ve begun to do more of recently, though it’s getting tiring quick. Other than that, I just level alts (trying to get an 80 of every profession, eventually. Without relying on crafting, ofc).

I want to believe that you’ll find something to do in GW2, given the amount of content that is actually in the game. Lately a lot of maps are completely desolate, however, so it may be a bit difficult in some areas. Just remember that the truth is out there =).

I think Anet wants you to run dungeons all day and night until you get all the legendaries.

I found myself wanting to make this same thread earlier tonight after I finished my daily achievement. I was like “Thank God that is over!” and then I realized that nothing changes and that there isn’t anything else to do. There is nothing else to do but wander around by yourself doing karma quests, and to be honest that was the absolute most boring thing about WoW, and why I played a tank just to get instant queues and level 1-85 that way because running to point A, and collecting certain number of items is unbearable, but in this game it’s the only thing there is to do. Kind of mind boggling really. At least there is no subscription fee. I could see logging in once every 3-4 months being fun for the same reason I occasionally still log into Diablo 3.

I used to run around doing events and stuff. Was pretty fun. Now everyone is too busy farming fractals 24/7.
