What do you guys miss from release?
I miss having faith in the developer.
provide a service that I’m willing to purchase.” – Fortuna.7259
I miss my black thief.
Why did I delete my black thief?
Right people don’t really do zones anymore because most of them hit max level already and they’re probably doing some high level stuffs….
If u want to run into people do world events there’s always people farming world events
People…

I miss having faith in the developer.
I would imagine many feel this way. This thread will be locked soon or such posts removed as they are not constructive and are telling anet the truth of just how massive their failures have become. Can’t be having that now can we.
I miss having faith in the developer.
I miss rocket boots underwater, guardians reflecting trebuchet and ballista shots
I miss mystery of what kind of updates the game would be getting.
Had I known it would all be temporary I certainly would not have been very excited.
And to the people saying they never see anyone; what server are you on? I play on Ring of Fire and I actually see people everywhere I go.
Of course not in massive numbers like the champion trains, but I generally find 4-10 people per map no matter what time I go there.

I miss when I bought Spark super cheap in TP. :o
And being able to Shadowstep with less restrictions.
The Fact that S/D was actually used in WvW quite often.
A lot of things I could do pre Thief nerfs. O_o
The Way Thief Looked Like It’d Be Super Awesome Being Able To Viably Use Pistols When Trailer Came Out Before Everyone Actually Got To Play Them.
When most of my friends actually played.
Snakes.
Storyline. Personal Story finished a long time ago. Nothing added to it yet.

Gems being 100 for like 20 silver.
Where to begin......
- Skills that hit more than 5 people
- No events full of vets and champs that don’t drop loot
- No DR when I wanted to play a 10 hour bender on my days off
- Free 1 day transfers
- WvW being about the rights and not the karma and rank farm
- BIS gear attainable through preferred play style
- BIS gear attainable for all your characters
- Ability to swap characters receive full dungeon and wboss rewards
- World/Dungeon bosses were not HP sponges.
- Waypoint mid fight in dungeons
- No fail timers
- Cheap precursors

Sanctum of Rall

Selling a abyss dye and getting 4000 gems for the conversion rate afterwards.
Getting dusk for 4g
Being able to hit a reasonable amount of people with my AoEs
Not being forced to participate in a the mind-numbingly boring craft system in order to stay competitive in WvW.
Being able to play WvW without zerging (thank-you again AoE limit)
(edited by Conncept.7638)
Tequatl. I do appreciate the changes made to him, but I think they went a bit overboard, and the reliance on the turrets ruins it a bit.
I also miss Orr being the place to be. They really need to do something related to the Living Story in there, incorporate dailies into it, put stuff there, do anything at all with it…
Besides that, though, not a lot has gone, only been added.
Getting decent loot.
At release I could run around Orr and participate in some events and I’d always get at least a yellow from the trash mob drops. Now I hardly get anything at all.
At release, high-end mats could still be farmed in a reasonable timeframe. Now it seems there is anti-farming code everywhere and drops quickly take a nosedive.
I miss having faith in the developer.
I miss the lack of grind for Best In Slot gear, only having to work really hard for cosmetics.
Where to begin……
- World/Dungeon bosses were not HP sponges.
- Waypoint mid fight in dungeons
These two sounds good.
Some said People/players. Well it was realy cool when playing on the starter maps and lots of people did events and Champions (Even though you didn’t get anything worth while). I hope Anet finds a way to make events more interesting and worth revisiting different maps and not just Queensdale.
Guild Leader of Alpha Sgc [ASGC]
I miss the awesomeness of my Elementalist.
Walking into a zone I don’t know yet, exploring new territory…
~Sincerely, Scissors
I miss the never ending circle of events in Straits of Devastation that could be done, and people being in Orr not for the sole purpose of dragonite or failing events to champ farm
Knights of ARES, Dragonbrand
Good times, good memories
I miss “Guard”, for some reason it was not balanced that my crow could fly from a castle wall.
I miss when I bought Spark super cheap in TP. :o

I chain 9k+ unloads right after one another …so probably 27k dmg in a spam of a few seconds.
Thats not viable?
I miss easy to obtain, non time gated, BIS gear.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
I miss feeling like open world content was going to be the main content.
I miss some of my friends who quitted.

I think this sums it up better then anything…. GW2 will be the last product from Arena.net or NCSoft I buy as it currently stands.
I miss the lack of grind for Best In Slot gear, only having to work really hard for cosmetics.
The game feels like login make your time gated materials log out. Then pay real money for those gem store Cosmetic armor sets that cant be earned.
I miss having faith in the developer.
And i miss the game it was promised before turning into Grind Wars 2: Korea Edition.
I remember what hooked me up during beta events. And that was advertised a lot from devs during that time – Exploring the world. So many zones.. and I know them by heart already. I want more…
I miss un-nerfed Thief.
Says no one ever (well… maybe except dairy farmers)
I miss Guild Wars 1.
I miss having faith in the developer.
I always try to take an objective view of developers, and did so at release.
I have to admit though, the faith I did have has been slowly draining as each consecutive patch further alienates me as a customer.
I’m still looking to balance that with positives…
…but Scarlet isn’t making it easy.
I miss having faith in the developer.

That’s one of the things that put me off of this game, I’ve not played for months now. Been playing WoW again, but bored with that as that’s just a massive grind for gear. But after reading this thread I see things have not improved here.
At this rate I can see myself giving up gaming completely.
I miss having faith in the developer.
This and pretty much what everyone else said.

“Guild Wars 2 : The game that made me quit gaming”
I see it, I feel it.
I didn’t want to play anything but the Guild Wars franchise.
I feel so familiar with it I don’t want to.
I just spent $2000 on a new computer in June for an improved experience in this game and now I am playing less solely because of the direction this game has gone.
Thank you Dev’s, for ruining Guild Wars.

Yikes! You just described me and my feelings perfectly (except I bought my computer in April prior GW2 release).

Yikes! You just described me and my feelings perfectly (except I bought my computer in April prior GW2 release).
I’m certainly not an exception. I’ve been playing single-player games more then ever (Fallout:NV and it’s major mod communities have been getting quite a workout from me lately). I still play EVE, although a bit half-heartedly. Seeing developers constantly turn away from themselves (and, in turn, the comunities they’ve gathered based on that identity) has taken away my ability to feel invested in anything online.
Make no mistake, this loss of faith is about communities and not players. Back at release, I almost immediately found a guild that suited my playstyle perfectly- casual people that like to expore, hang out and do random things for no particular reason (party at the LA fountain!), and just go out and have fun with the game. So what if it takes 2 hours to run AC path 2? We had a good time doing it. GW2 was designed for people like us, and we knew it. Then Ascended gear happened, and everyone knew that Anet had given in after only 3 months. My guild became a ghost town over the course of a single weekend. Now, I can’t find a guild I like at all- either they are highly focused on only one specific gameplay aspect, or just don’t do anything with each other. The ‘come hang out and have fun’ attitude is gone. The shape of the entire GW2 community was forever changed. Without that kind of stability, no online game feels like something I’m willing to sink time and money into anymore.

Not much else to say.
The innocence of people choosing gear according to stat preference and personal style vs going “all-optimal” for max money per hour and watching youtube videos and spreadsheets to verify which build and gear combo is more “efficient.” While the latter is wholly valid, it’s often portrayed as the “right” way to play GW2, and players who “play how they want” are seen as “bad” just because they won’t adapt to what is supposedly better for max gold per second (as if that is all that must matter for 100% of players.)
I miss all the promise the game had…
You know all those beta promotions and developer commentary, back when you actually thought they were going somewhere.
Then you realized they shipped half a game with half empty promises to get you to look at it again.
Like that one cute puppy in the kennel, you know you can’t have it but want it anyway.
I miss having faith in the developer.

The problem is that a casual MMO just doesn’t really happen. Loot is a huge factor in MMOs no matter what form it comes in, and people want loot fast.
There’s only 24 hours in a day and people want the most out of it. As exciting as any content gets, it gets repetitive after a while and after that point, people just want to run it as fast as they can and grab the loot. No, its not really fun, but MMOs have never been purely about fun in the first place.
I miss when the best classes in PvP relied on skillshots to be successful instead of the current SPAMALLTHEBUTTONSRIGHTNOWFASTFASTFASTFASTFASTGOGOGOGOGO meta.
Yeah, those were good times.
we may consider whether or not there is an incarnation of [ele] that would be viable
but balanced. For now, we do not expect it to see serious use.” – ANet
I miss the old company structure, when they actually had a dungeon team. With the living world structure we get mediocre content that doesn’t change based on our feedback because they’re already on to the next patch. Everybody agrees that the gold reward for all paths isn’t balanced but nothing will change unless there comes a living world patch that involves dungeons somehow.
I miss thinking there would be some expansions in the future.
I missed when everyone was upleveled in WvW.
