Let’s have a positive thread. What do you like about this game the most? I myself enjoy my engineer, and the fact that there’s tons of stuff to do at level 80. The journey is 1-80, the adventure begins at 80. The fact that there’s many ways to play your profession. I love all the detail in the game. You are doing something, and you get distracted by a side mission. That’s pretty much it for now…

The world.

There’s always something new to see. Something new to hear.

It pains me when people can’t look past some numbers in the screen.

I like that there’s not just one way to play the game. There are a lot of different methods to level, gain gold, or whatever you’re into.

The Norn, the Shiverpeaks, Quaggans, Lord Faren, finding random Quaggan nurseries while exploring the world (too bad that I explored everywhere already, but it was really nice while it lasted), Jumping Puzzles, Canach, random conversations with the nice people of Divinity’s Reach, the npc’s idle dialogues, playing dress-up with my characters, roleplaying with Devs (though it only happened to me once), the song “Little Barracuda”, the Sylvari’s bio luminescence, Dolyaks, the emotes…
Alright, I’ll stop. The list is getting too big.
To be honest, this is the first time that I stopped to think about all the things I like about this game. I’ve been complaining a lot lately, so this is really refreshing. Thanks for asking.

For me, I like that I can commit an hour a day or so and accomplish everything I feel I really NEED to do that day. I don’t feel I HAVE to grind things out and run three hour raids every other day just to feel like I’m moving forward.

The music.
I personally like a great deal of things about our game here, and the list of things I like about it is pretty long.
But the music and the ambient sounds you can hear in game is one of those things that doesn’t get mentioned a lot.

I really like downlevelling. I am doing map complete on my lv80 and I like that I can be on all these low level maps and it still feels like I can still “experience” them, like I didn’t totally miss out just because I “outlevelled” them.

I really like the sound design as well.

Jumping puzzles are really awesome.

And also quaggans. Quaggans 4 Lyfe. And Skritt too.

So many things i like in this game. Could make a huge list

random NPC conversations!

This doesnt get mentioned enough to be honest. People tend to take a lot of the details like this for granted. I think these conversations are really amazing and charming at times.

I love the combatsystem/flow on a few professions (engineer and elementalist mostly). Very diverse and dynamic.

I like how buildcrafting plays a relatively big role while learning to master your profession.

I love that there’s no subscription fee, and that at no point do I have to shell out money to be able to access all parts of the game and to play all the content.

I have always loved the art direction of this game. Even so many months after release, the game continues to take my breath away with its vistas and environments.

I love the lore; my caveat is that I’ve only loved the lore that the game inherits from GW1 and up to the defeat of Zhaitan.

Well, where do I start? It’s a lot.
The art, the 3-D style used here that doesn’t make characters feel too much like they are polygons, the fact that it’s free on 90% of things, the fact that it has a dedicated lore which is not about the usual kitten “good vs evil”, the fact that it is fantasy, but has got some realistic appeal.
I like the concept of one of their races, the Charrs, which sums up one of my favourite symbols and animals (demonic felines), the fact that the combat is dynamic. A world that makes you feel like you’re there, especially the Shiverpeaks.
Tons of things actually.
Tons of things ruined by small but decisive mistakes that ruin the entire composition, like a soundtrack that goes immediately out of tune right while you were enjoying the melody.

Before GW2, I had been playing a dungeon oriented mmo. GW2 made me remember how great an open world can be. I also like how there’s many ways to acquire exotic gear (shame they can’t do that with ascended -.-) I do like the art style for their wallpapers. I like that there’s no subscription fee.

The details…like the footprints you leave behind on the beach that slowly fade away…or the way the bugs (not targetable) buzz around the swamps…or that moving water, for the most part, looks like moving water…or the way you kick up dust in dry areas when you walk.

The details are just so polished.
