So i think that NCSOFT really can make an update that have PVE at lvl 90-100. and those maps could have pvp system with new weapons, armors, and new things!

Open world PVP was already proven to be an error.
Almost all NA MMO developers are well aware of this.
Only old Asian developers don’t know this.
In ‘Age of Conan’ or ‘SWTOR’, PVE servers are more popular.
‘PVE server’ means there is no PVP in PVE map.
PVP servers are preferred when he want to gank a lone quest runner with his friends.
But potential preys choose PVE servers, so there are no preys left in PVP servers.

I think PvP should stay in the Mists. I would not care for PvP in PvE maps.

we have a game that is called Guild Wars, and we dont have “wars of guilds” except in mists!

I prefer the idea of leaving pvp in the mists where it belongs. It might be cool to have a larger pvp map, like a pvp version of EOTM with no real sides.
Guild Wars 1 had Guild vs. Guild matches, and they were PvP. Guild Wars 1 & 2 both have PvE and PvP separate from each other. I prefer it this way as well. Please keep PvP out of PvE.

Also, just an FYI…NCSoft does not develop this game, that would be ArenaNet, so NCSoft would not, nor could not do an ‘update’. =)
In GW2, PvP in PvE is WvW/EotM.
PvP in actual PvE is never going to happen outside of specialized zones because it goes against one of their basic design goals – a player should never not want to see another player.

I wouldn’t mind a gurubashi arena out in the PvE world.
I would love some PVE map with PVP for simple reason cause im tired of zerging….whenever Anet makes a map inside of mists,they make capturing points and boring zerging with it.I wish they just make simple map like queensdale and let people PVP on it.So yeah…. +1 for PVP on PVE map.

I think it’d defeat the feeling of jolly cooperation that the game currently has in PVE zones.
WvW is supposed to simulate world PVP but I find that the map is too compressed and doesn’t have enough PVE on it to facilitate the feeling of world PVP. TESO’s Cyrodiil map does do this pretty well, as there are mini dungeons, quests, towns, daedric anchors, etc, all of them are completely separate from the map control PVP game, so people will go there and pick up quests, and PVE in the “PVP” zone, but encounter other people of the other factions and PVP happens.
Completely unrestricted PVP kills jolly cooperation because everyone, even people who are supposed to be your same faction allies, is likely a kitten who will turn on you and kill you.
Doesn’t fit with the game.
I’d love to have a bigger wvw map with more PVE on it to make for a better world PVP experience, because in that situation all parties are consenting, faction (in this case, server) vs faction only, no same faction/world. But putting all players unwilling or not into forced PVP “PVE” zones.. no. There’s plenty of other games for that,
No. Absolutely not. I don’t ever again want to live in fear of being slaughtered by those who want to think themselves superior. Experience has taught that these people generally travel in packs, which makes escape near impossible for reglular players.
As was said above PvP in PvE zones is WvW. They specifically designed the game with separation of the game modes in mind.
I’d rather Anet worked on the existing PvP modes than that they sink the time and effort needed into completely revamping the PvE world so that open PvP would make sense. It’s not a good use of resources to try to completely re-invent the game.
Open world PvP is probably one of the few things that could drive me from this game.
I have experienced 2 games where PvP was allowed in PvE areas.
-1st one meant as a lowish level character working my way up through the ranks I got jumped on by groups of PvP guys too often. Some places were even impossible to get to alive making the main quest very hard to do about 40% into it.
- 2nd one PvE players were safe because there was an on/off option making it impossible to be attacked by a PvP player unless you chose to play that way. That game turned into maybe 70% PvP, not my thing so I stopped playing.
I did play a game which had a map only for PvP but with the same look and feel as a PvE map. No castles or whatever to fight over but just which side controlled which parts of the map. A tiny bit like choosing to be Centaur or Seraph in a big map with a dungeon, events, resetting hearts and places to fight over which were a bit like camps or ruins where everything was about players hand-to-hand.
BTW. If someone does make this possible there are a few places I want to go to on the WvW maps, can we make it possible to PvE there please? Been away a couple of years but I think there are places there needed for world exploration and I saw a jumping puzzle somewhere there I would like to at least try to do.

And what’s the point of asking for a feature that already exists? If you want maps to roam with open world PvP enabled, then go to WvW/EotM.
If you want new maps to roam with open world PvP enabled, then ask for new WvW/EotM maps.
Nothing good can come out of trying to shoehorn open world PvP into PvE just because other MMOs do it.

I think OP, you’ll find that in most games that offer both open world PvP servers and PvE servers, the bulk of the population ends up on PvE servers.
That’s how it was in both WoW and Rift when I played and there’s a reason for it.
Not everyone wants to be competitive all the time. Not everyone wants to have to deal with getting ganked while doing something completely unrelated.
And in a game like this, which has no factions, it would make less than no sense.
Edit: As an example, Rift currently has 7 servers in the US server pool and only 1 of them is a PvP server. The other six are PvE servers (one if which is an RP server).

No thank you. PvP should stay in the PvP areas, as it did in the first Guild Wars.
We kind of have PvP in PvE anyway, through the use of Costume Brawl, which most of the time is fun without people being elitists and stuff.

Hmm. Each to their own I guess. I’ve tried several Asian grinder MMO’s that had non-consensual PvP. In every one, the only times I was engaged by another player, he was accompanied by 2-5 friends while I was alone, or he had 20 or more levels on me. Oh, wait, there was the one time I got attacked by a similar leveled player when I was rezzing in from a teleport and was half-dead before my screen cleared. Yeah, that was epic all right. >.>
Thats why i usually grind to max level asap xD But with epic I meant fights with a meaning instead of random pk’ing lowbies.
And with a meaningful fight I mean something like defending Your territory with Your Alliance or fighting over a worldboss that drops some unique loot. I guess the constant competition between big guilds is what I miss in Gw2, WvW is rather unpersonal and doesnt give the same experience.
Have people forgotten the beta event where The Shatterer basically flew over one of the starting charr areas and turned half of the players into enemies =)
How amazing was that event? They really need to implement something as epic as those encounters more often.

That’s what I was going to say. The notion of it is a complete turn off for me as a player.
When I get my cape and am able to ride off into the sunset on my unicorn, then of course you can have open world PVP. Mind you it will still be the last time I log in, but who wouldn’t want to ride a unicorn into the sunset as they’re leaving.

I would say YES! But in a total separate pvp server like most game do. This way you keep your pvp & pve players happy.

Add to existing PvP areas leave PvE alone. I’ve experienced it in several MMO’s and nothing more aggravating for those who just want to go about their own business and have limited time to play. Nothing can be gained by doing this except more disgruntled players and we have enough of those already.
If they wanted to take some of the existing pve maps and stick them in the mists as ‘battle fields’ and allow 20 or so people (10v10? 5v5v5v5?) to run around beating on each other, go for it. That’s fine. Just keep the pvp in the mists….and out of my pve.

That could do wonders for quasi-WvW or PvP.

Kidding aside, they could take city maps and make “invasion” PvP scenarios. Imagine leading a Flame Legion boss through the Black Citadel, and having to decide on engaging NPC forces to free them up for a larger invasion force or making a burst toward the Imperator’s core.
The actual map assets are already done, so it’s just a matter of populating it and setting the various sides.

I have no problem with a PvP server. In fact I would welcome it if it gave a place for all the “put PvP in PvE, I wanna duel brah!” crowd to go. However I think in the long run it would be the most desolate server of all of them. Also it would either have to be isolated from WvW or there would have to be 3 additional servers added for WvW balance.
Maybe if ANet made a PvE/PvP map that no one could actually join as a home server, but could only guest to.
This would eliminate all the problems with new players selecting a PvP server as their home, getting constantly ganked and complaining about it in the forum. They could even make it a level 80 server only. That is, all maps in it are level 80. Maybe the players arrive at a waiting area and talk to an NPC and chose a faction. After that they can waypoint to the map of their choice.
I do not think that free for all open world PvP is a good idea here. I would not be opposed to a optional open world dueling system, with opt out as the default setting, but am not particularly fond of that either.
I prefer instanced arena style PvP where all participants are there at that moment for the specific purpose of participating in a PvP match.

They already have this, its called EOTM. Plus I don’t really think it would work in gw2 considering the target audience are very casual people who are mechanically too slow to do anything besides press 1.
