Q:

In one sentence (no run-ons) explain what you think is the biggest problem with Guild Wars 2 right now.

Mine
This game spoils people with easy content; “I’m a scrub, and I don’t have any intention of trying to get better, leave me alone,” shouldn’t be what I hear from 90% of the game’s population.

The biggest issue (i have) with Guild Wars 2 is the loot pinata bosses, lack of combat depth, lack of class balance, lack of build variety, lack of skill diversity, lack of role definition, and all of these factors contributing to the developers designing really shallow content to simply sell RNG-based skin tickets in the cash shop.

Other players who spend all their time whining about how much they hate the game either in game or forum.. and yet continue to play. Or for some strange reason sit on these forums spouting off pointless threads about what they don’t like.

Seriously, if you don’t like playing this game, you do remember there is a whole world of other activities to do, games to play, friends to spend time with (or perhaps not?)
I happen to enjoy this game very much, and if i didn’t you wouldn’t find me on here whining about why I’m dramatically quitting and spouting off a list of reasons why.

Gem store RNG chests.

^This combined with them being limited time offers only makes you feel the pressure to spend your money NOW or miss out!
I have the money, I want to spend it, I want the items, but let me buy it when I want/can.
“Hey, having one of those months where you can’t make ends meet?, well too bad.”
“And we’re doing it again next month, stay tuned!”

The biggest problem in gw2 right now are whiners that are never happy and will always complain in the forums.

Complaining is what gets you better content than Lost Shores. Is this a serious post? Do you lay down at work when your boss is berating you mercilessly for something that wasn’t your fault and just accept it as the will of the world?

I really don’t understand the mentality of some of the people on this forum.

Please keep it down to 1 sentence guys. ALSO this isn’t a forum for discussing what OTHER people say, this is for you to throw out your own 2 cents. Take quoting and commenting on other people’s posts to a private convo.

I really don’t understand the mentality of some of the people on this forum.

As said in other threads, it’s not really complaining that’s the problem. It’s the exaageration, the hyperbole, the negativity, and the stuff said in such a way that makes everything seem like the end of the world.

Saying “this game is dying” is not constructive, not provable, and not helping anyone. Saying that most MMORPGs launch with LFG tools is simply incorrect. It’s one thing to say this game needs an LFG tool, it’s another to imply this is the only game in the world that launched without one.

You can dislike the hyperbole, i learn to take it as a display of passion or emotion rather than an annoyance. It could also be said that some “fanboys” (NOT REFERRING TO YOU) need to stop getting in the way of constructive criticism, but that goes both ways.

I didn’t peg you, i just simply said that i don’t understand the mentality that seems to want nothing else but to invalidate the claims raised against the game regardless of how they are phrased.

A, however, agree with you that it’s all in the delivery, but im not perfect enough to deny that i haven’t used hyperbole when i felt irate about something. As always, there’s two sides to this problem that is about an equal balance.

If those “whiners and complainers” didn’t feel like they were being tuned out simply because their negative views didn’t coincide with what the fanboys thought, i’d wager that we’d see a lot less passionate quarreling around here and vice versa, stonewalling against “the whiners.”

I refuse to break this down into Philosophy 101, ill just say that i apologize if you perceived that there was any personal animosity directed at you in my post.

No need to apologize, mate. I’ve never had much problem with any of your posts. I just think complaints would actually be more effective if they were factual and maybe less emotional.

I see things wrong with this game all the time. I send in bug reports. If I see something I don’t like (rng for new skins and dyes, too much rng for precursors, the whole F&F story thing), I’ll certainliy say I don’t like it. But I won’t try to make this stuff out to be worse than it is either, that’s all.

I think that constructive criticism not only should be allowed, but is vital to the creative process. The problem is, so much constructive criticism is lost in how it’s delivered.

The world bosses are a bit like loot pinatas.

With the exception of Claw of Jormag, who actually has mechanics and forces you to move around or die. But even Claw is a bit like a loot pinata.

I like my dragons to actually move around and swipe at people, not just breath frost or poison in one direction, or jump off a mountainsid all like “Alright, Tequatl is here! Kill me!”

what’s happening with the gem store. Buyable special dies with RNG (6 in 21 chance to get an actual dye you wanted, but you’ll probably just get a worthless green, have fun!) and pay monthly to rent an arena to have a 1v1 duel. Yeah. Not nice.
