What do you want from a GW2 youtuber?
Not lets-plays. I like information and discussion about stuff like builds and patches. Like state of the game :p
i’d like info thats is niche and hard to find, with visual explanations. Like woodenpotatos videos on the various consumables (that you’d need hours to find and test reading the wiki) or lore (that requires a deep knowledge of the world, gw1, and flavour npc dialog that no one reads)
I dont really care about seeing some random guy play, or talk about HIS opinions on builds/balance without backing up with facts.
Quickscope montages.
Maguuma – [TriM][DERP]
Good hunting locations (updated after patches)
Updated ori and ancient wood locations per server
State of the game (to include the majorities opinion)
A “What players want” video
That would be great!

pretty much this, I always like if a game youtuber comments on patches, whether I agree or not
I would love for anyone anywhere at any time to start doing videos on the problems of the loot tables, DR, chests disappearing, loot disparity basically ALL of the subject this community of youtubers have been hiding away from since this game launched. It’s like someone has a gun to their heads not to mention anything bad or something. Cmon let’s be honest in the review guys, we need some answers and the community OBVIOUSLY needs some support in getting those answers since we’ve had two threads now with over 1k posts on them about this subject and all we get are insults and more run arounds.
Machima, please. I’d like some definitive Machima like that Mindflame stuff was for WoW. Plus maybe some newbie guides cos the game is quite different to other MMOs and getting more subscribers all the time. Tyvm.
Skin, alot of skin!
If you’re going to make vista, JP, or dungeon videos, please, please keep your mouth shut unless the visuals for some reason cannot convey the information you need to get across.
I’m sorry for that, but it seems like 99% of the GW2 players who make videos have the most grating, irritating voices to ever grace humanity.
And if you think you’re funny, there’s a good chance you’re actually the opposite. The last thing I want to hear when I’m watching a vista video is someone nasally making “all your base” jokes.
Dontain, nothing else needed.
Don’t be mediocre at the game.
Devonas Rest 4 lyfe
don’t use music that sounds like you spend your free time at warehouse raves accepting mystery pills from people named Sparkles.

Emphatically seconded.

Even he hasn’t addressed the ongoing and neverending DR that’s been plaguing the community. He’s made 1 single video in Nov and that was it.

I think he actually made a vid praising ANet for working on it at one point. Not too sure, havent seen much more of his vids lately.
To answer OP,
Let’s Play – I think these should be left to the VETERANS of Guild Wars. By this I mean people who know the lore and have played the first game. I personally LOVE WoodenPotatoes’ Lets Plays as he is pretty much the most knowledgeable Youtuber on GW lore. I wish ANet would invite him to their studios and have a sit down feedback session. He has some great points and suggestions about the game as it is now.
Shenanigans – There are PLENTY of these to be had in PvE AND PvP.
Impressions – How you feel about the patches as they come out. The Youtuber would have to be reasonable though. I’d hate to see a flat-out “whiner” or “entitled” person rage on a youtube video.
Cant think of anymore, but im sure there’s a lot more you could do.
