So after opening 174 jugs of karma and some other assorted karma potions with a +90% karma boost*, I had 2.095 million karma. I bought 460 orrian jewelry boxes and used all karma from those boxes to buy more boxes. In total I opened 1594 boxes. Here’s what I got:
26 Balthazar minis
5590 Unidentifiable Object (worth a total of ~28 gold)
214 Obisidian shards
51 lodestones
6 piles of putrid essence
2 cold potions
1 warm potion
1 charged potion
*This is what I used to get +90% karma:
+50% karma boost from a black lion chest
+15% from karmic infusion
+15% from a guild boost (Thanks DHE!)
+5% from ice cream
+5% from a guild banner (Thanks DHE again!)

And the point of all this is?
I’m more impressed by the amount of clicking you had to do.
It was about 50 minutes worth of clicking…
And the point of all this is?
Someone felt the urge to brag about pointless things.
more important is, before i open the picture i knew he should be a warrior whit GS.
this was actually kind of interesting to read
Oh boy, I think I have about 2.1mil karma in drops/jugs in my bank.
50mins of clicking? And yours was mostly jugs while I have about 1,500 drops. So not looking forward to that.
Out of interest, what was the breakdown on the lodestones you got?
this was actually kind of interesting to read
are you hes girlfriend?
I’d like to know what kind of lodestones you got..
EDIT: nevermind, it’s in the pic…
It was about 50 minutes worth of clicking…
2.1 Million Karma and all I got was this lousy wrist brace…
he was just sharing his findings with us.
what is wrong with all of you?
Interesting statistics. Wish people would contribute more similar stuff.
I could have told you not to get those kitten jewelry boxes after I opened 200 of them. They aren’t worth it when you can use the karma to get rare weapons to mf for chances at precursors (and obviously profit from any exotics). Plus, the only lodestone they ever drop is crystal (I actually got 5 crystal and 1 of all the others, but maybe I’m just unlucky.).
I opened about the same amount of boxes over the entire time that I’m playing. I had only 75% boost, so far my stats are:
Started with 1.7 million karma
Used all the karma bottles with 75% boost and bought more boxes
Total of 57 gold obrained after selling all lodestones and grays.
What really surprises me is the amount of minis you’ve got, I only got 6 myself. But no matter they are worthless anyways.

By buying jewelry boxes, selling everything you get on TP, and buying level 80 rare weapons from TP for the money you’ve got would result in about 4x more weapons.
This information would be great help for the Wiki orrian chest drop rate.
I’m quite pleased with the rewards. I got enough gold to buy 4 pieces of the human cultural armor (just need gauntlets now) and enough obsidian shards to get 77 mystic clovers.
I’ve added my results to the list on the wiki, but I didn’t keep track of the liquid karma (since I drank it to get more boxes)

Are these orrian boxes the best karma > gold option we have atm?

I rather you did not enter the data at all if it is incomplete. Your result which excludes the karma potions would skew the data table.

On guild wars 2 wiki there is a place put put your drops into a table for drop research here:

Please enter your data
I rather you did not enter the data at all if it is incomplete. Your result which excludes the karma potions would skew the data table.
The formula used to calculate the percentages in that table is already skewed because it divides the number of drops in each category by all the total number of items received (not the number of boxes opened). This doesn’t work because you always receive more than one item in each box. You can get 20 unidentified objects in one box, which vastly lowers the percentages for all other objects.
IMO, the best way to fix the percentages at the bottom of the table would be to just divide by the number of boxes opened, then you would get a result like 3.5 unidentified objects and .005 onyx lodestones per chest or something similar.
My data show that the chance of getting a lodestone is ~3%, which is about 5x higher than the table suggests from the percentages alone. Chance of getting an obsidian shard is ~13%, much higher than the 3% the table shows.

I do not disagree that the percentage calculation needs reworking; but whether that happens or not is independent of whether data entered is accurate, which is my concern.
