What feature do you miss from your old MMO
Good list, I long for the days when people had to actually try in the games they play.
you mean settle down and grind until their ears bleed?
Growing up with multiple games, investing over 100 hours in all of my RPGs finding every secret, every easter egg, every quest, every pathway I don’t think that the game should force you to grind (Never liked Morrowind, because of hows hard it was to level up in it), but rather provide a big world that you can wonder around and experience without thinking too much about your level (Most RPGs nowdays and very new MMOs do do that).
To each their own
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
Mounts…especially those that defy gravity.
RvR – 2001 Retail DaOC launch. Hitting lvl 21 and heading out into the real world not knowing what lays just down the road. Stealthers controlling the gates, etc.
Darkness Falls – DaOC RvR dungeon. Losing control of your keeps so enemy can gain access. Decide if you want to stand and fight, run and hide, or logout and come back later. Or, just go crazy and charge to their enterence and fight until death.
My Thane – DaOC – Magic hammers that break any and all CC which resulted in shouts and name calling over Vent because I wasn’t supposed to use them. Watching the number of hammers increase when fighting zergs…
Redcaps and Spiritmasters – sure fire way to power level any and all. PAC healer with suppression spiritmaster = loot and exp faster than you can blink an eye.
Johnny Johnny – Ranger (Ehmry Bay)
Hárvey Wallbanger – Alt Warrior (Ehmry Bay)

I really do miss PBAoE groups, it was so much fun.

I miss the lack of gear threadmill, 8 man groups and actual teamplay from Guild Wars.

do you need to get blues to get greens, to get yellows, to get oranges, to get pinks? No? Well then it’s not a threadmill.
Combo system
It was so cool how they designed the auto-attack combo system in DCUO, all the things you could do with a combination of two buttons, it was very satisfying and incredibly well designed.
Raids, or challenging PvE content in general. (Fractals are a numbers game, not a mechanical challenge that requires trial and error.)
~Real puzzles, that you had to use your brain to solve. Puzzles that needed actual cooperation to get through.
~Things that changed, (sometimes when you changed them) and then stayed changed.
~Actual human being running NPCs, that you could have real conversations with, and even shape the dynamics of the game. Story that you could become personally invested in, and it mattered.
~Exploring places and never having to kill a thing.
~Learning history and lore as part of the gameplay, and not just a random dev aside.
~Being able to be immersive in the world and its lore, without having to be ‘role playing’.
~A ‘home’ that was truly personal and customisable, that you could invite many people into.
~ No leveling, no stat maxing, just pure exploration and discovery.
Personal home where you can put furniture in it
From GW1:
1. Heroes/Henchmen
2. PvE group/party with Heroes and/or Henchmen
GW1 had a max group size of 8.
Since GW2 dungeons allow 5 players, a max size of 5 seems fine for GW2 then.
So, that would make 1 player and 4 Heroes/Henchmen
Don’t miss a whole lot really.
The only thing that comes to mind from my previous MMO that I’d like to have in gw2 is individual chat windows for talking to people on my FL.
