Did the community stop suddenly?
Did we give up?

Will we have another SAB Event to show support to our beloved SuperAdventBox?

I wish this was permanent so we could play it anytime we wanted.
Is it too much to ask to turn it back on? =(

They could just put SAB (like before or with adittions, corrections) in the next feature pack. I supose thats what we need to press for, since they explained a SAB release didnt have logic in the LS2 content.

Please let this OCCUPY crap die off. We get it, a lot of people like SAB, but it’s not a game breaking problem if it never returns. The occupy movements from a few years back bring back horrible memories of people who’d rather protest than actually take the time to apply for the jobs that are out there but no one wants (that they felt are beneath them because they have a college degree and fail to realize that a job is a job). If ArenaNet determines that SAB is in the best interest of their game (it really isn’t, it’s just a neat little extra). I do hope they just permanently re-enable the content so those who want to play it can, and people like me who don’t really care for it can stop seeing this occupy crap all over the place.

Give us more GW 1 weapon and armor skins, please. COPY/PASTE ALREADY!!!!

Feature packs aren’t content. SAB is content. All the devs have said was that they didn’t see a new SAB expansion fitting into the current LS2. It’s my opinion that it should have always been open with all of it’s content and rewards intact. It’s certainly more engaging than say Costume Brawl is. It may have been too engaging.

We are heroes. This is what we do!

No, the community didn’t stop all of the sudden. Like everyone else, the SAB folks are most likely taking a breather.

Just so you know, there are alot of different GW2 communities that feel the same way as the SAB community. There are alot of folks who feel ignored and continue petitioning the devs to fix certain things in the game. Not everyone comes onto the forums. Some folks know the devs in-game, so they talk to them directly. Other folks will brave the forum despite the trolls. Other players are voting with their money. Still others are spreading word about their game experiences (to the public and/or the animation / game industry).

Be assured GW2 is not the first NCSoft title to run into problems with the fans either. Wildstar is having similar problems. Tabula Rasa & City of Heroes had these problems during their run. In the case of City of Heroes, the fans are still fighting with to get their game back from NCSoft.

We got our point across. The event was just to show the devs that there are a lot of SAB fans who do want to see it return. (And to be honest, I’m sure they already knew that.)

I’m just hoping now that, if there is a new Collection achievement for SAB skins, ANet will go ahead and re-open SAB as it is now so that players can go in and farm for their SAB skins as another activity to do in-game.

They go to places like imgur and tumbler and whine and post sarcastic pictures etc. That’s the problem now days, life’s too good so either got to complain or try to form or join some movement so they felt like they were a part of something. Occupy is over and guess what it did? Nothing. This game doesn’t need SAB, Devs should work on other stuff.

I sure hope this short sited behavior doesn’t come back…

I also like SAB and enjoyed it, but really that forum/game behavior was just low in my opinion and I stayed away from Rata Sum because of that.

People need to know that they are customers and they are important, but they aren’t a center of the world and there are a lot of others who need content for them to play in other areas of the game.

I think that ANet remembers about people tho play SAB, but maybe later. Not sooner than LS2 end in few months.

For now if you want some skins use TP if you don’t just let that infinite coin stay in the bank few other months and CU again inside then it will come back.

To clarificate:

  • I wasnt part of OcuppySAB, im not saying to do any kind of protest. As is very obvius, pressing for something can be done with things like: Wish lists, forum activism, signatured lists, etc. Im not encouraging any kind of boicot, etc that will harm directly other players.
  • Second, as I put initially, they can just ship SAB as it is in the next feature pack. I think it adds to the game more than just skins, but a different kind of activity.
That means no extra resource are necesaries and they can concentrate in other areas that are important, meaning no player population is indirectly hurt by the SAB release.

Thanks to make necesary this post, since its posible other people have misunderstand my original post….

Well I would not want to see new SAB with old content (I still hope to sell my skins after 1 year waiting) They are worth the money now.

Also the seasonal things are interesting because they are seasonal. Look how many people play activities this days and how much they were when they started.

I know that SAB was loved because it was a new dungeon and it had that challange in tribulation mode, but even that would be plain for people right now and your “Occupy SAB” would be “Upgrade SAB finally!” protest.

As I said SAB is great and I hope to see it back but with new skins and new content and still seasonal. Maybe for 2 month instead of 1.

ANet doesn’t close SAB, it was designed to be temporary.
People would be through with it if it wasn’t seasonal – look my post above.

SAB is a dungeon type of game and probably that is why people want it so much, but they would be bored with it fast as I see people who claim that they are bored with any dungeon including Fractals after revamp.

So really, just wait and play other things, it will be back. ANet really considers SAB fans.

For what it’s worth, the reason I stopped playing activities was because they went on rotation. I play games like that for fun, which means I play them when I’m in the mood for them. Making them only occasionally available just puts me off getting into them again because I won’t be able to play them on my own time.

The temporary nature of SAB (even without the ridiculous wait and silence currently going on) is even worse than that, because even when SAB is turned on, it isn’t open long enough to be able to play relaxedly and still get everything. You have to log in and grind things out if you want the achievements or skins before someone decides you can’t play it for another year.

It may not be gamebreaking if SAB doesn’t return, but it would be a bait-and-switch. There are players who bought the Infinite Continue Coin last year with the understanding that they would be able to use it in future SAB releases. It’s been a year since people who purchased this item via the gem store have been able to use their purchase (with no hope on the horizon that we’ll be seeing SAB anytime soon).

The occupy SAB was for the vast majority of us involved, a one day community event. It made its point overwhelmingly in the first day/night and we had a huge amount of fun and was even noticed by devs who joined in with it all with their toons.

People moved onto other things, but the sentiment remained active, even if the in game presence moved away.

I think one thing that genuinely seems harsh is that the OccupySAB thing was a big part of the boiling point that finally got devs talking to us again, and they haven’t talked to us about SAB.

At the moment, for all I know it would take next to zero effort on ANet’s part to turn worlds one and two back on. Either taking five minutes to do that, or five minutes to explain why they can’t do that, would be much appreciated.

Well, it seems to me this short break from the exciting action of Living Story S2 would have been a grand old time to re-open SAB for those who enjoy it (of which I am not one). I even gave ’em a way to work it into the story, if it really bothered them that much. It would have make a lot of people happy. Alas.

The table is a fable.
