Why still, after several months of release, the only function of the 2nd mouse button is just to hold it down. It just goes against all the ideologies that I used to respect ANet for. Where is the toggle? And a soft crosshair?

Just played some Neverwinter online and the targeting system in that game is exactly what it should be in GW2.

I don’t have any problem with holding it down to look/pan the camera/character direction, but what I do have a problem with is right click being a secondary “select target” and secondary “interact/attack”. This causes so many problems with losing the intended target in a group, becaues you start holding down the button to turn while it’s hovering over an ally or the wrong enemy, then that target gets selected when you release.

A toggle option would definitely help this, but I think what we desperately need is an option to disable the right click’s target/interact/attack function, making right mouse only camera control

That is exactly what I want. I never use the right click to select anything whatsoever, at least not intentionally. I have unintentionally changed targets more times than I could possible remember. I want an option to turn that off. I dont mind using it to turn the camera, have definitely gotten used to that from many other games and have ended up preferring it for the most part.
