What happened to semi-frequent AMA?
Forgive my ignorance, but what’s an AMA?

Ask Me Anything thread on reddit
I don’t honestly remember these ever being semi-regular. Izzy did 2-3 way back at the beginning of the game but they definitely weren’t regular. The PvP team still does their State of the Game every month which is like a video AMA if that’s what you mean.
I don’t think they were ever intended to be regular. They are here on the forums, anyway.

Ah, I see. Thank you. To that end, with the way this community overreacts to literally everything, I would never, ever do an AMA if I were in Anet’s shoes.
Hmmm…. methinks we should have something like this. In order to assuage concerns about the game. Kinda like the SoTG for PvP, other parts of the game should have as well!
AMA is now The Forums tadaaaan!
Since they realized its pretty much the same. Its “Ask Me Anything”, not “Ask Me Anything And I Will Answer”.
Hi,
Something just hit my mind…ouch, it hurt. I remember during the AMA in November that Chris Whiteside said he’d like to have more AMAs in the future, and pretty regularly too. What happened to those? I know he did not promise anything at all, but we all would agree (and I think Anet would too) that those AMAs were really good, and fun.I enjoy asking questions and having arenanet devs respond directly to my question. It made me feel like my concerns were important. Even if someone had a similar question and that question was answered instead of mine, it was time well spent to watch.
It would be nice to get bi-monthly AMAs going or something. Or maybe once a quarter.
Even they got bored from this game.

There’s still State of the Game chats on gw2guru. but that’s more PVP-oriented?
Nanuchka, norn mesmer: “BOOZEAHOL!”
Tarnished Coast – Still Here, El Guapo!
Yes, Chris Whiteside did say that. It’s too bad it seems to have fallen by the wayside. =(
Though, I’d rather have it here on the forums, than on Reddit.

Agreen. I know reddit is exceptionally popular but I’ve never been a fan of its overall layout. I find it very unpleasant to look at.
Yes, Reddit is very difficult to read, and follow…in my opinion. Sans the opening post, of course. I like the forum lay-out much better. Though, there is the drawback of only those possessing a game account being able to participate, which may be why it would not be held here. =(
They haven’t made any forest fires recently that had to be extinguished fast. AMA’s are nothing but crowd control measures.

False. They also serve as kindling for new forest fires.
Because they would have to answer questions they don’t want to or can’t answer, here its easy to just keep everything silent…
The last few AMA where quite full on.. level cap remember also they did them to quell the angry masses over southsun mistakes..
Like I said, I know they didnt promise anything, but during the November AMA Chris Whiteside said he’d like to do more of the AMAs.
State of the game seems pretty PVP oriented..wvw and spvp only if I recall, although I could be wrong.
Dropping by a thread every once in a while is very much appreciated but is a far cry from an ask me anything session. Truth.
And they held an AMA during the ascended gear introduction/crisis when we all went into nerd rage on them. They held an AMA to answer questions generally, but mores o to give us clear definition on what they intend with ascended gear. So they are not afraid to have another AMA.
I think another would be quite nice.
