I mean, certainly it couldn’t be the same devs that created this beautiful game be the ones involved in these visual clutter nonsense, so little work went into this, they could’ve reworked fireball into something different instead of shrinking it into 1/10th of its original size.

Something changed, someone important must have left, the new content is incredibly dull and generic compared to the original game, druid is completely anti-thematic and feels like it was rushed, and don’t even get me started on dragon hunters. Dungeon and fractals, something that was once entertaining and fresh content, tossed into the garbage can, completely ignored in order to focus on raids, something only a small porcentage of the community will have access to and actually have fun doing.

Then there’s the complete silence from the devs, I don’t know what got into their heads, I don’t know if they feel superior than their community and think they’re too important to talk to us, but it’s insane that a company would neglect their playerbase so much, there are cries for attention in every single subforum, about very important issues, but somehow they really think ignoring them is going to be better in the long run.

Many are still with the company, some have left, but that is part of the course with any company. I’d have been amazed to see an identical crew over 10 years. That doesn’t happen.

I disagree with the dull, generic content comment. That is subjective. It is different entirely and part of that is because playing field itself was so restrictive in GW1. Maps were interesting, but lacked much replayability. Grind was just as heavy for the “cool” stuff. Story was abominable (to me) until at least Nightfall when it improved a great deal.

Of course that is largely hindsight, GW1 was an amazing game for its time, but as a different type of game, a different philoosphy, it can never really be compared to it’s “sequel”. The existing and new devs for the game understood that and have adjusted their development and vision accordingly.

Doesn’t mean I don’t have issues with GW2 though (and I agree with your dungeons comment), but bland, generic gameplay is not one of them.

“players” aren’t a single entity you know, some agree with the change others don’t.

I don’t know why they wouldn’t make it optional like pretty much every other game does.

Its like any relationship: When the benefits outweigh the negatives, you tend to stick around. But as soon as a smokin hot chick pays any attention to you, you are OUTTA HERE!

I digress: The issue is that for every good thing they put in the game, it spurns 10 REALLY bad things, it seems.

Arena Nets are used to catch Gladiator Fish.

Most of the staff behind GW1 and launch GW2 left the company a bit before LS1 started. Why else did you think the last several years have been nothing but changing or removing stuff from launch?

Do you have evidence of this? Because I don’t believe it’s true. In fact, I’m relatively sure it’s not.

I’d be interested to see if you can back this up.

I don’t think that’s true, at all. Many Devs have been with the company more than 3 years.

It’s true. Only a couple of the original devs remain.

Those who worked for anet and have left, have posted elsewhere that the working environment at anet isnt all too good. It’s the management’s way and nothing else. Devs who gave suggestions on improvements were ignored or shouted at.

Because of this quite a few devs left. Anet obviously had to get more in, but to reduce costs, they got in temps. These guys just do what management tell them to do, and when done, they move onto their next job.

Their work speaks for itself. The living story episode which were released every two weeks, which could be completed in a couple of hours. Only way to make it last longer was to do all the achievements related to each episode.

We were promised no grinding. Yet we had a lot. And HoT have increased the grind to a whole new level in this game!

Complained about WvW before it became cool.
