I first would like to say that I love Anet’s creativity and their courage to try something different. However, I know they have said before that they listen to our feedback but when patches drop they never reflect as this or they has some negative twist to it.
Lets be honest, the changes in this feature patch were changes that should have been in the game from the get go. These changes are some of what us players have requested for some time now. Along with that also came changes that we didn’t ask for. So my question is, after everyone is done being so kitten happy over the simple changes like the wardrobe, (Because who doesn’t like shineys? I bet Skritts do) then what do we have to fall back on?
Not only did this patch bring in features that should have been in the game but it has also limited pve farm, caused more lag for those with low end computers due to the mega server, changing of world bosses so that each one are on set timers (say goodbye to world bosses for those who live a life outside of this game), warriors are still the best tier class (this is more of a personal problem for me), the new traits which were subpar and did not push the envelope to create more diverse builds THAT WORK, and more importantly we now must pay money for any type of armor change.
And with that being said I would like to touch on the last point as this bothers me the most probably, but I do understand that with GW2 being free to play AFTER you buy, then they need income from somewhere. But, to take notice in what players loved doing (collecting skins to mix match) then to claim to make it easier for us to do but slap a price on it? Really though Anet?
Anywho, my biggest question is, after the dust from the new changes has settled and people notice what they really got out of this “Feature Patch”, then what exactly will keep GW2 afloat? More 2 week Living story content? More grind fest? Back to Fractals/Dungeon/Temple farms? WvW Zerging?
GW2 was never made to be more innovative than other MMOs, it was made to be different than GW1.
