What happens to the mini-games?

When launched in gw2, we talked about mini-games, such as polymock, the Baguerre barrels, or fighting taverns, etc …

Or what it is?
have we mini-games?

Is that you have an idea of mini-games as well?

There’s Keg Brawl, but that’s about it. I keep hoping they’ll put the others in soon. Especially the moa racing in LA.

I also want to know what the huge targets out in the bay in LA are for.

Edit: For some reason my original wording “in @ some point” without the symbol got kittened, so I changed it.

tbh before gw 2 was released i did expect more mini games.
as far as i know there are only two.

brawl one and one at asura starting area, killing the mini robot on a sort of chess board.
I am a little disappointed as i was expecting quite a few mini games.

the huge targets in the bay of LA are for a mission there, part of a quest where u use a cannon to shoot them..

Tis not what they can do for you
Tis only what you can do for all

Polymock is coming. The entrance to it in Rata Sum was barely there when I started playing in November, now there’s an actual gate that’s being worked on.

The mini games were just a tactic used to sell the game.

The gate to polymock has always been there.

I exepcted the mini-games at the launch since they are talked about from a long time before the game was out.

But it looks the game needs alot of work in all of the areas that must be worked on before add more content was thoose mini-games.

I hope DEVS can handle all of this for try to add complete things to the game, and not beta/incomplete ones.

Unless the mini-games start dropping rares and exotics they will just end up being dead areas, aside from the occasional achievement hunter or daily task completer. They should be low priority (although polymock was fun for a short while in GW1)

I don’t think they should be low priority. It’s offering more ways to play and enjoy the game. ArenaNet originally made this game based around the concept of fun, as opposed to a reward centric game design. If they’re going to forsake that, then I would say they’re forfeiting the entire vision they set out to fulfill.

I made a post about the activities that you can currently see in the game:

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Activities-you-don-t-know-about/page/2#post1692212

It’s mentioned in this thread that you can always offer exclusive cosmetic rewards or leaderboards as another layer of competition or prestige – two things that were a core tenant of GW1 and ideally GW2.

It would also have the added benefit of creating a far more social environment if these were put into the capital cities. I think some would do well as persistent games, but even if they were all instanced, it gives people a variety of focused content dedicated to fun. It would certainly help to fill out the now beautiful but barren capital cities since people would now have a reason to go there, and it would be yet another reason why people would enjoy the game.

Mini games that offering unique skins for excelling at them would be amazing. I wish so bad they would add them in soon. Though I doubt we will see them before an expansion.

Toons: Foreseer, Geikamir, Rapscallion, Specimen, Scythian, Zeau, Ärtifact, and Replica.

A way to unlock transmog items like those in the Hall of Monuments is something that would get me to play a lot more seriously.

For a game about grinding cosmetic items, I haven’t really wanted anything except items gotten by gold, which is by design hard to obtain by grinding.

I was really disappointed when those mini-games weren’t in the game at launch.
I don’t need any reward either, just fun games to do.
