First of, i love this game and i have been doing it since realease, but i dont know how much longer that will stay.

Im kind of done with PvE (Already have a legendary and done every aspect of it) so… Now i really love WvW! I find it super fun and im building my way up to a commander tag. But with the recent WvW match up we have been fighting FoW and Vabbi 2 times in 3 weeks. This match up is horrible, we have like 95% of the points all the time, and we can even take stonemist without seeing an enemy.

But enough about that, and lets get into the point.

So, Anets patches… i know i shouldnt complain that we are getting free patches every 2 weeks AND IM NOT! Im just saying that i would much more want a patch every 2 months, but that has good content in it.

What we have seen now from release to now has just been some events that gives us a new dialouge with a already existing character.. (yes, i know we have gotten more, but nothing really good if you know what i mean)

These events are good for halloween, christmas and other holidays, but not for this game updates. I think im talking for the majority of the players when i say we want good contnt updates.

Fractals has been last and only “good” update we have had. Now, we are just getting some new mini game that will keep us interessted for 20 minutes and then we are bored of it.

these updates, even though its permanent is not going to keep us interested playing more than 20 minutes. It will be just like keg brawl. People play it for 20 minutes and never again.

What? Running to 50 different effigies then dancing like a trained monkey didn’t get your heart pounding? O.o

I miss the old quests system for these events. They may have been the same each year but at least I didn’t fall asleep doing them. Run to effigy, dance. Run to cache, open. Snore.

I agree with you completely, it has left me with a thanks but no thanks sort of mentality in regard to this game. I wish they would slow down on patches and fix bug reports instead. Perhaps give people actual time to play the content and not feel rushed to get things done. I feel bad for players in other time zones who give up a day for an event launch that either ends up borked or never happens on time (if at all). These are repeat offenses and they really should be addressed, throwing more events at us every two weeks (with constant bugs within them that need to be patched) is really not helping

its not a Permanent dungeon, so in 2 weeks time we dont have it anymore, so no.. the JP does, but thats like a one time thing

And if it were a perm dungeon no one would be playing it in 2-4-or 6 weeks anyway. So where’s the big deal?

Static content gets boring (search any number of threads kittening about this) yet at the same time, you’re not happy with the temporary ‘living’ content because its not just left to gather dust when it loses its luster for the masses?

Kittened if they do, kittened if they don’t. Poor Anet to be ‘blessed’ with such self-centered players.

Don’t look at me like that. Whatever you’ve heard, it’s probably not true.

But you have something else and some of the time, that stuff will be good. You see everything isn’t going to be to everyone’s taste. By doing it this way, everyone gets a turn to do something they like. You like dungeons, some people hate them. Some people like the moa races, I hate them. Some people love jumping puzzles and they got one. Some people like exploring the open world and they have caches around.

Not everyone is going to be in the same boat in what they like. This rotating of content works quite well for that.

But anyway, Anet said more of the stuff moving forward would be permanent.

For me, I highly doubt that I would be playing still if the updates were more spread out. The new jumping puzzles, temp dungeons and achievements are what keep me interested and engaged. Some of it, of course, is better than others.

Fractals was a good addition, but only kept me engaged for a few months as I got my new ascended gear. Assuming we keep with no gear progression (and unfortunately, it seems that is the case), then adding a fractal-like update will only keep one engaged for a couple of weeks tops.

I feel in order to really keep people engaged you need
1. Gear progression or
2. Rapid updates

Otherwise, doing the same repetitive task (no matter how fun) will get boring. Think of it like a TV show. You can re-watch the same episode over and over and over, and it may have been one heck of an episode, but you are going to hate it by the end. Alternatively, you can have new episodes every week that keep you coming back.

Keeping the content temporary ensures that people swarm to the new content and makes it much more enjoyable and community driven. This adds to it’s life-like nature.

I hate the constant updates. It makes it impossible to farm nodes. Orrmaps I don’t even look at anymore as it can’t be kept up to date. I wish they’d (anet) get their act together and make meaningful patches and fixes to everything so we can have nodes in the a same spot for 2 weeks at least like we used to. I want to make my legendary and just be done with the game!
