Just a random thought. But what if GW1 was made into an actual MMO. No not Guild Wars 2, which is part of the same IP, but in the future.

But Gw1 itself was made into a MMO, with same lore timeline, and all the massive skills from the original game, but main difference is that the game is in a persistent open world instead of instances.
Could such a game coexist with Guild Wars2, in a similar way Everquest 1 and Everquest 2 coexist?

I didn’t like some of the gameplay of GW1 honestly, but it did have some interesting storyline and gameplay concepts that could really be cool in a MMO, which likely will not be brought over to GW2 since the games are so radically different from the ground up.

I think one of the reasons GW1 worked so well because it wasn’t what ppl define as an MMO (I will always call it an MMO just because I’m not pedantic about labelling) and did its own thing. Apart from the dreadful storytelling (until the later stages of its life) and the A-B pathing, GW1 was near perfect within the confines of what was created for it.

There’s likely more potential in GW2 bringing a few more things over from its predecessor as well as continuing to develop its own identity.
