What if I buy GW2 now, from local store?
you gonna have to buy HoT seperately as it will not be included in the box, pay twice get one.
If they’re selling you GW2 you get GW2.

A.) You can wait until HoT releases, then get the core game and the expansion at one price. But you’ll only be able to play once the exansion releases.
B.) You can buy the core game now (base gw2) but any amount of money you spend will be essentially wasted since you still have to pay 50,- $ for HoT.

A is wrong they get to start playing straight away on thier core account.
Other than online I haven’t seen any local retailers in my area who once carried it still offering any box edition of the game for several months now.
I won’t buy it because the only things it gets you over the online HoT edition, if it’s the heroic edition, are the heroic goodies and a way out of date DVD copy of the game. And you would still need to buy the HoT edition.

If I buy GW2 Heroic box now from my local store in my city, will I get HoT included, or I will have to also buy HoT (with core game included)?
From what I understand, yes you will.
My best guess (and I could be wrong here) would be to purchase HoT (pre-order, since you already have an account, it seems) and then buy the upgrade for the basic account via the gem store though all that does is give you some non-essential goodies like ONE set of veteran armor skins and some boosters and a pet (I think).

If you go to the store and buy a box, then you will NOT get HoT. Make sure if you really want HoT to get only a HoT edition and not something else. Just a note, HoT will not have a physical copy. It only comes in digital, so if you buy something physical it will not have HoT.
If you buy HoT edition from Anet now, you can start playing the core game immediately (if this is for a friend). The safest thing for someone to do is just save up and buy it from Anet.

Ah, I didn’t notice that they offered boxed too. Though it still stands that if you buy a box right now, it certainly won’t be HoT.
Hmmm, it’s very disappointing that there is no proper CE.
