what its predecessor had for UW/FOW where if your group fails you have to repeat the entire raid so that you had some sense of failure. Isn’t that the point of having hardcore content to actually be HARD and have some sort of risk involved?

Raids to me just seem like a reinterpretation of dungeons were there is no sense of risk. “Oh welp we just got rekt, QUICK EVERYBODY WP BEFORE HE RESETS!!!”

I think you could ‘get rekt’ quite a few times, regardless of wps – IF they have told us the truth about the difficulty spike.

Player 1:
“Look! It’s the new ultra, challenging, super duper hard boss that one shots everyone! What will we doooo?!”

Player 2:
“Everyone have Zerkers?”

Rest of Group:
“Yes. Of course. There is nothing else. Zerkers is life.”

Player 3:
“Stack in this corner. Hit V when boss lifts arm. Profit”

1 minute later

Group
“Wow. We beat the hardest Boss in GW2 and we got a Raid Spoon for loot! Awesome!”
