If memory serves, this is the language of the player and is used for European servers.

I can’t post a screen, but I did notice yesterday in my party, people were in “World vs World (Jade Quarry [D])” Or something very similar.
Jade Quarry isn’t a Euro server, and neither is Henge, the server we’re from.

current theory: denotes the player is guesting on that server and/or in a dungeon hosted by a player from that server.

Maybe it isn’t just for European servers, then; I’ve noticed whenever grouping with someone that has this, they seem to speak another language primarily and English second. Maybe that’s presumptuous of me, but it seemed like the most logical explanation.

And iirc, the guildie I see with the D is also from AR, I don’t know if that means anything or just coincidence.
