What is an inbox
Inbox = mail box (or more accurately, a box for the mail you’ve received).
The guy was probably a non-native English speaker expecting a simple mail from you.
Your inbox is where in-game mail arrives.
If someone says they’ve sent you an inbox then they’re using the term incorrectly but almost certainly do mean they’ve sent you mail.
