Seriously, I have no idea what it is. I find the game quite fun to play manually, as it were!

Botting is setting up a program to do a certain task for you without you physically at the computer.

Botting means letting a program play for you. Usually to do the boring lame kitten stuff like farming. Nevertheless it usually plays a big part in destroying games.

Botters more often arn’t just players trying to avoid farming, but organised groups who run bot “farms” with dozens of separate AI controlled characters perpetually farming loot.

In turn these groups then sell gold via the black market such as gold selling websites, undercutting arenanet’s business model and damaging the economy by flooding it with materials and items. Overall, bots are bad news for everyone
