What is going to happen to future new players when the population is settled at level 80 grounds?

How will these players complete skill challenges and events with 4-5 ppl at the entire zone and no one willing to come help?
Just a thought.

if i remember correctly the difficulty changes depending on how many ppl are doin the event and all of the skill point challenges are soloable.

Im at Hinterlands trying to finish a skill challenge with tons of centaurs around, champions and those crystal dogs nearby. If i manage to pull 2-3 at a time and clear them before they repop (and they are on the ramp to the skill challenge, very near, its a small ramp) there will be still a champion/elite and 3 ancient crystal dogs on me, with little room to dodge and little time to overcome them before others repop.
Is this soloable as well?

I fear that in the future, players will start giving up when they realize they have to pass on many things without asking for someone to help (and travel costs inhibit others to help)

This is quite a worry to me too. It was a problem in GW1 where i always find myself doing the wolrd instances alone with henchmen. I hope Anet scales up the DE rewards, to encourage high levels to play in low level areas but don’t scale the drops(to allow high levels to farm low level mats for whatever reasons, having to create/delete characters and match/maintain their levels to farm low level mats is very annoying), also helps prevent overcrowding in CS Orr etc etc.

You know I was going to post something similar yesterday but forgot to so I will add my reply here.
I am experiencing this right now. I am on my second character and being quite thorough with zone completion, my thief is level 75 having done every zone up to the level 60 odd zones.
What have I found is that since about the level 25+ zones is that is is becoming rarer and rarer to encounter players and also people who want to be involved in DE. This has put a significant damper on questing since GE are unsoloable and some DE are very problematic to solo. Essentially even though I talk in map chat encouraging players to do DE at most 1-2 players show up and whislt that is enough sometimes the majority of the times I have been fighting by myself with a rare glance at that ever elusive other player in the area.
I am on my second character barely a month and a bit since the games release and this is my experience already. The only events that seem to attract people are the WE which whilst fun is definitely not the only thing to do.

Most seem to be soloable, but a few need some tweaking.

I think this is a legit concern. So far, it seems like what’s happening (in my server) is not so much a lack of players, as a very large world.
There’s just not enough players to cover the large number of zones, especially higher level zones.
But it seems to be dynamic. On any given night, some zone could be deserted or well populated with players.
Personally, I enjoy the game a LOT when there’s helpers around. Solo play is a pain the kitten sometimes (intentionally typed kitten – in you FACE auto-censor

When you type ‘kitten’ on another forum instead of using profanity, you’ll know their fiendish attempt at behavior modification has succeeded.

What about a “Helper” mode that you could click ‘on’ or ‘off’ that would utilize the mini-map.
When you elect to be a ‘Helper’ all the events happening on the map would show in your mini-map. Along with how many players are already at each event (ie, within the event ‘circle’).
Or the ability to make this the default play-style in gameplay options.

All they need to do is scale dynamic event rewards (karma, coin etc) to the player’s level, not the scaled level. That would be incentive enough to move people around the map.
I don’t get the QQ about loot drops when downscaled, true most of it isn’t 80, but most of it is 75+ and it’s the same if you were farming in Orr. Your drops are not all 80 gear even in cursed shore.
People are in Orr just because of these reasons:
a) More events, therefore more karma.
b) Each event rewards the most karma in the game.
c) It takes a butt load of Karma to get exotic temple armor (which carries stat spreads that you can’t find on crafted gear outside of dungeons)
d) Not everyone enjoys WvW (I think they just need to find people to WvW with).
I know I would run around lower zones even if I 100% (Haven’t yet) with rewards were even, but when my goal is to get karma gear, right now the most efficient way is to stay in Orr until DR hits.

Sanctum of Rall here and 75.
I feel your pain man, the higher I go the less people I see. I’m in the Straights and I literally have not seen anyone since before Sparkfly Fen. Some of the skill challenges are impossible due to the high spawn rate and forget about enjoying group events.
Seriously, where at the people? It especially sucks right now because I am literally surrounded by DE’s but unable to do the majority of them.
I would love to see the average level of players. Am I leveling too slow? Or too fast? Or a combination of both so that I miss the hardcore crowd and the casual?
I’m so lonely.

Lots of people have already stopped playing the game. Lack of an endgame and an extremely long and boring Personal Story means that few people want to reroll or continue after Lvl 80.
Most people have basically taken it as a play to 80 once, there’s my 60 USD worth of fun.

Leveling another character and I rarely see people anymore, Not sure what will happen when I roll a character that I"ll have issues soloing things with. But I do see it as a concern granted things scale down or up but there are some that just don’t scale down well so it’s not soloable. More so to some skill points when some don’t know how to kite or anti kiting mobs. What will those players do?
I am hoping and holding out that it’ll get better later on.

Some people – including me – stopped playing because of bots, diminishing returns, punishing updates, unplayable dungeons, bugs.

So it got to this point already? I can tell you what happened… Many people on these forums told me that this game is not for me and I have to go and play other games… Aaaand so I did. Now I’m just reading around the forums waiting for something to change. Not even posting, just reading… Sorry for me English, it’s not my first language.

really?
if so then all of the events in orr are broken, especially in malchor’s leap which rarely has any players anyway.
