Pretty new here, just wondering what “kitten” means. I see it in every thread…

The forum software filters any word which could be perceived as offensive and replaces it with “kitten”.

Therefore pretty much everyone uses the word “kitten” as a substitute for any swearword.

That is why you see so much fluff in game cutesy stuff which makes the gaming lore kitten and the whole atmosphere just plain wrong.

It’s a word censor used to replace offensive words.

kitten goes meow meow.you know the adorable ones.

They really censor everything also stuff that is not bad. Besides that the filter is not very good.

I concur. I think swearwords should be replaced by the word “fiery skull of death”. That would be less childish, and way more manly.

Kitten is essentially equivalent to “smurf”.

I think kitten is a great substitute. Yes, it makes statements seem childish, but when people start using foul language instead of forming constructive thoughts, it makes them look childish. Kitten just dives that point home.

It doesn’t work too well.

I just had to edit a post because I used a contraction. “It is hitting you” didn’t make it, when I used “it’s” rather than “it is.” Oddly “it is hitting” works when you’d think the feline filter would yowl because the space between is and hitting makes it think I’m dodging it.

Nothing more than a profanity kitten.

I mean filter.

So if I type vulgar stuff like : suck my kittening kitten you ugly kittensucker, are the curse words getting replaced with kitten?

Lol yes but I would delete that before you get infracted. Implied profanity is just as bad.

Sometimes I actually use kitten as a swear word in-game. Kinda fun, really.
