So I logged on my Theif, just hit 30 eager to do AC. The second I go into LA I see a gold seller spamming their site, at the end they got random letters(17gz was one.) Its normal to see it in LA so I overlooked it and went on my way typing LFG AC Story, waiting for others I’m watching tv so a decent amount of time has passed. I look over to see I havn’t gotten any replies so I typed the same thing. While scrolling through the chat I see the gold seller constanly saying the same thing, just different letters at the end(last one I see is 6n7t) This has been the 23rd time he has said it(I scrolled and counted, its not an estimated), I said LFG AC Story 3 times and got suppressed. So what I am understanding is we should put random numbers and letters at the end so we can say it as much as we want? I think 23 times within the hour is a bit much compared to my 3. I have been suppressed over an hour.

is it spam to send more than 2 mails to your guild mates?

they dont even make a difference between guild mates, friends and random people,

everything is spam, botters have no problem to find a work around
only we normal players suffer

i really badly hate this in gw2

The spam suppression feature is actually very easy to circumvent. Three messages containing exactly the same text, even over somewhere around ten minutes is counted as spam. All you do is change the text slightly each time and you can write as much as you want, when you want, I like it this way as it allows me to have conversations on map chat with people. However I dislike it as it doesn’t stop the spamming if they do exactly what you said and change the letters at the end.

It’s a ‘ kitten if you do kitten if you don’t’ situation.

It’s a lot like the TSA. Reactionary solutions to threats rather than pro-active solutions that target the real problem. I presume because it’s cheaper? I suspect the change to the jumping mechanic, which then broke jumping for everyone, that they had to revert, was another reactionary tactic to solve a problem that ‘the bad guys’ are using, and as a result, impacted all the rest of us who are just trying to play.
