Saw someone with a pink aura that glows and whirls chaotically around the person, what is that item? It sort of works like Preserved queen bee, I suppose.

It’s not Quip, as this aura is larger.

Hm, as far as I’m aware there isn’t any pink aura in the game that would be tied to an item. And the only two pink effects I can come up with is Alacrity and Agony.

Could it have been the Ranger Elite, “Strength of the Pack!” ? (Formerly “Rampage as One.”) It has pink particle effects.

Could it have been the Lightning Catcher backpack? That’s a pinkish/purple glow around the person, mostly in the back.

Sounds like the revenant Herald specialization. The spec pulses out boons depending on which skill you’ve activated, and it produces a pinkish aura at the same time with symbols around it indicating the active skills.

I’ll just think of it as a mesmer bug or something. Since I’ve only encountered it once, and nobody else seems to have that aura.

I’ve seen it too. It looks like Mesmer magic mirrored planes. It’s not a legendary weapon aura or any skill effect. Has anyone figured it out?

- Legendary Pistol Quip
- Mesmer skills in general (legit so much purple/pink on that one)
- Chak Egg Sac
- Triple Luck Tonic
- Using a Box of Fun with color mode chosen

and in Silverwaste it can be the buff which prevents you from entering another path.

Pretty sure it’s one of those mesmer bugs, where the polygons don’t stop after the casting. Not all players see it I think, it’s completely random

It could be the reflexion effect caused by the mesmer trait Master of Fragmentation (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Master_of_Fragmentation)

it’s a temporary effect though. No effet (that I know) gives a permanent polygonal purple effect.

it could also be the Chaos of Lissa (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Chaos_of_Lyssa) since you said it was whirling

the only other possibility i could think of is a bugged visual mesmer effect (speccialy with the shield , sometime the arrows keep spinning)

I had this oddity happen the other day in Kessex. Not on a Chronomancer, just a mesmer I made for an RP plot. During the RP some local spiders occasionally wandered into the scene — this happened when dispatching one, and it hung around long enough for me to screen it.

I’m pretty sure this is not what the OP saw, though.

That’s just a boon an a wyvern pet. You should see Aegis on the wyverns, they get a huge sail!
