What is the priority?
I have a feeling that staff is allowed to respond to certain posts while strongly advised NOT to respond to other categories.
“A release is 7 days or less away or has just happened within the last 7 days…
These are the only two states you’ll find the world of Tyria.”
I think they respond to issues that they have a good idea on how to fix. All of the performance issues are extremely technical, and it would require more time to explain those than is needed to get to the minor fixes. I would rather have ANet know there are issues and be working on it rather than have them trying to explain the issue on the forums.

I realize that it would be technical, but say SOMETHING.
Well.
Practically every reply to an issue involves a reasoning backing up their decision from data/feedback/QA testers.
Whoever’s interpreting the data probably doesn’t want Anet to succeed.

Alot of times, I just see them say, “We’re looking into it”.
From what I’ve seen Anet’s priority is to add as much distracting fluff and longterm grind as possible to keep people in the game and buying gems. Fixing bugs/balance/performance issues clearly takes a backseat as it is the least profitable use of their time. Basically they’re happier icing excrement and milking us for cash than trying to elevate the core game in any way. 6 months in and no last logged in feature, a basic feature I’ve seen in every mmo I’ve played this century, is a perfect example of where their priorities are.
There’s plenty of other stuff that needs vast improvement that has been brought up time and again, but the devs are all too busy making new backpack skins and hair dyes to do anything about it.

It’s rather annoying right?? I feel like they need a survey to ask the players what they want.

Frankly I find it hard to believe they don’t know what we want. There are threads all over detailing the core improvements we need but despite promises about suring up the core of the game in the first quarter very few quality of life improvments have been made. Instead we get a constant trickle of nonsense content such as laurels, gem store items, living story etc. It may distract some but essentially it’s just piling stuff onto shaky foundations.
If I were to hazard a guess and stick my tinfoil hat on I’d say that pressures from Nexon, a major shareholder, are forcing them to prioritise content releases that give them short term monetary gains over the boring, unprofitable, but essential changes we really need in the longterm.

Honestly, I believe the main focus is the gem store and maximizing gem purchases before the next AAA MMO is released. They are probably expecting a mass exodus if the next AAA MMO gets things even half right upon release. Thus, for now, they’re grabbing all the profit they can.
So ANet basically cares more about the money than the performance of the game.
More Quagan back pack colors is definitely in the picture.
lose a pip,win 2 pips,lose a pip,lose a pip…………..-
-Go go Espartz.-
apparently forcing people to run fractals with groups.
In all honesty, there is no real priority. The priority seems to shift wildly…. It’s quite evident from pre-release to 6 months in, the game is just kinda veering sharply from patch to patch.
However, I have noticed anything to do with TP or economy are always on top while it seems that profession balance is always at the bottom.

If you really think it takes the entire staff to add a few items to the gem store every month you are crazy.
If you want to be serious there is no reason to doubt that the majority of their work is going into whatever the next expansion is.

Yes, I refer to this as the Frankenstein’s Monster of MMOs. No vision, or at least the vision they did have was abandoned.
Your all nutz.
Thay have revamed fixed and added so much stuff to this game its nuts and you all just like " its all fluff" or " its all about the gym store"
Anet run out of budget when they released GW2, either that or their investors turned up the pressure to release the game hence the Zhaitan fight was obviously rushed and therewas no time to design end game. Convenient excuses like levelling up was the end game, I like propaganda and sugar coated advertising sometimes but seriously, there is no honor in saying we designed the game for the players and then make us play it the way they want us to play.

my class is still broken, culling isn’t fixed, thieves have perma stealth. I guess they fixed the ability to farm mobs in fractals though. That was a priority.

It’s not about quantity it’s about quality…thats where it’s lacking.

If you think about it, mate, they didn’t really “add” anything. This was all stuff that should have been in the game at launch, and is clearly not complete (and not very thoroughly tested). This game is still under development. They released it too early.
When they come up with a legitimate xpac, then I’ll say they’ve “added” something.
If course, it’ll probably include more tier gear and a rise in the level cap, so I’ll probably say a lot of other things, too (I’m getting good at incorporating “kitten” into my vocabulary). But that’s a whole different story…

Well they seem to be the type that do not wish to tell you something until they are working on it so they do not come off as lies. They even said this is the way they want to do it.
“Its done when its done” i think the saying is or something like that so i would think this would be true for the info they give out and post on. If something is going wrong they want to first work out how to fix it before they want to respond. For small bugs they can easily fix they post fast for bigger things they hold back before they can for sure make it work better.
So you must trust them as much as you trusted them not to cut off the game the next day (they could if they wanted to). Its not an easy thing to take but you will burn your self up by acting like they have never made a game before and they are one of the game makers that have remand mostly untainted.

I’m getting FPS issues but ANet will work on the stupid Necro scythe. They need to communicate with us more.
Oh and I see that they only respond the people who have trouble buying gems.
