I saw the other thread asking for the best, and I’m curious what you all think is the worst. Bottom 3?

I find
WORST:Elemental Play twice as hard for almost the same benefit as a better class.
2nd: Mesmer (Their illusions don’t really don’t hold aggro and they just feel awkward to play unless you go great sword)
3rd: Thief (this is just personal taste)

I could go into more detail if you like (I’ll admit I haven’t really played thief as much as the others)

Engineer i find worst overall class, but best class for myself, it has like one good build, completely useless turrets and majority of utility skills are unusable or have giant downsides like knocking your self down or having random effects that might not give you what you need, and only one good elite worth using

If it werent for grenades i would not be playing this class, nerf grenades and im rerolling, thats how bad it is, the other classes simply just dont compare to the state of the engineer atm, and being the most unpopular class in the game pretty much proves my point

I see elementalist just siting in fire and destroying things, they are definetly in a good state right now, sure they are glass cannon but you knew what you were geting into, the elementalist is not a tank, and their versatility and mobility makes up for their survivability

I’ve think Engineer just has a ton of glitched skills looking at their bug thread. My Engy friend does swear by their grenades though.

And Elementalist does pretty well in events, and WvW. Basically if spamming their lower damage AoE will benefit them. They are definitely playable, but just they need a look because their glass cannon extends to the glass part and thats about it sadly.

Im sorry for derailing the topic but i find elementalist being squishy initially but i believe i found a way to make it tanky and survivable with traits. Im still trying to boost the dmg, but i think its a good balance. I agree with wasabi if u fail alot as an ele its because you probably dont know how to play it!

This right here is basically what your entire post boils down to. There is no “worst” profession. Each profession is no better or no worse than the others; it’s all a matter of how you play them, and certain players will end up gravitating to certain professions and builds within those professions that fit their play style.

well then get the topic back on track and list yours.

Anyway I know how Elementalist is played, but even specing for surviability you ain’t anywhere close to normal classes, and if you want to match the damage out put of something like a Warrior or a Guardian. You’ve got to element dance which means putting 30 points into Arcane.

Ranger, so far. I just don’t like micromanaging a pet. I haven’t touched Necro or Engineer yet, though.

Yeah that’s one reason I haven’t touched the Ranger. I think Thief is actually really solid as a class. I just have trouble with managing initative

Necros got some issues…big ones. But it is the only class I have played so far so really can’t say what is worse.

I cant say what is worst. But in a ignorant selection i may say warrior. I feel uncomfortable playing it melee and find it hard dodging, idk how other players make it work, but in BWE3 i found myself having troubles dodging. Still im gonna get a warrior just because he has an ample selection of weapons. And im a weapon wh___e for that.

My girlfriend’s playing her Necro right now and having a blast. I looked over at her screen just now and didn’t see her having any problems with it.

I’ll have to give it a shot. Looks pretty fun, actually.

Depends what you mean by worst, if you mean trying to be objective about how good/useful they are in sPvP/tPvP, WvW & PvE, then I’d say the worst is necro, because it is bottom of the barrel in structured PvP, not very good in WvW (only staff is 1200 range, utlity is not great, lots of the skills are weak against structures, etc), is okay in PvE.

If you mean worst, as in my personal preference, then I’d say it is tie between ranger and warrior, because they get dull real fast, too easy, too simplistic, too samey.

I’m asking for both personal taste and if there is one that sticks out in your opinion then say it.

All the classes seem fine to me. If you check each Classes’ forum you will see everyone thinks the class they play is UP. Really each class just has a few bugs that need to be fixed but they are all good at what they are designed to do.

I have played Necro, Elementalist, Guardian, and Mesmer.
- I liked Necro a lot for gameplay but all the attacks look the same and the goth style spookster is not for me!
- The Elementalist has the most pretty attacks but requires so much attention always switching and casting and dodging I dont want to do it yet!
- The Guardian is super super smashy and strong. It has decent DPS and great survivability. The only reason I havent decided to stick with it is because it is not super pretty or super ugly but also too melee-ish. It is annoying when enemies run away and I imagine in WvW I will want to AOE groups from safety!
- I am going to try to stick with the Mesmer, it seems to have the lowest DPS of any class I have tried but its attacks are pretty and fun and I feel zip zap zeepo when I play it. I havent tried the great sword.

Necro has major issues but I keep playing anyway. Dark caster has always been my style and that won’t change just because of some issues.

After that I’d say Mesmer & Engineer to round out the three worst.
