I looked around a little, I have not seen any word on it.
It is a bursting ring with a spray of notes…it is about 4-5 character-lengths from the ground off in a remote area.

I’ve never seen that! What zone and area were you in?

I’ve never seen random notes like that floating in the air, but have seen them from time to time while fighting the Dredge, I just assumed it was some sort of animation to illustrate their “sonic” weapon attack.

more info needed :P really random!

I see those notes coming from the dredges, every so often…

it is up on a small rock plateau, of sorts….you should be able to see it without climbing up there.
