What is this in guild roster?
I think it has something to do with guesting, but I’m not sure what exactly.

Don’t think so, I see some that are on their home server. I’ve googled it a million different ways but I’m not getting any results

I think it’s a WvW/PvP thing. Some servers are dedicated WvW/PvP servers (like Kaineng), and you’ll notice it says on guild and party list that someone might be on Kaineng [D] while in WvW/PvP, even though Kaineng is not one of your current WvW matchups.
Edit: Atm in my multi-world guild, I see Anvil Rock, Henge of Denravi, Kaineng, Yak’s Bend, Borlis Pass, and Sorrows Furnace with the [D] beside them. So I’m guessing each one hosts a different WvW matchup.

German servers, i’d think

German servers, i’d think
I’m certain of it. German players have some “dedicated” servers and in WvW they get the (DE) added to their names.
I am on Henge of Denravi, and we aren’t a German server. We aren’t even in the EU.
It’s nothing to do with languages. You’re right that some servers have a tag after the name to show the language, but those are only on EU servers and only say [DE] (German), [FR] (French)or [SP] (Spanish).
I’m not sure what the [D] tag means. I’ve just had a look in my guild and it’s showing up after 2 server names, out of about 7 on the list.
My guess was that it’s servers in a different region but I’ve looked and although both are US servers and I’m on an EU one there are other US servers on the list that don’t have that tag.
I can’t think what it might mean.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
Dang, no one I know can figure it out either
Screenshot please
What server are you on I don’t remember a D or a DE on my guild roster.
Heres a pic.

I don’t think it’s because of guesting, because the leader of one of my Guilds often guests, and there is no D or DE beside the world she is guesting on.
I have searched the internet/wiki and racked my brain…I can’t come up with an explanation that seems feasible. It would seem to have something to do with the worlds, or the designation would be next to the character/account name.
I only noticed it somewhat recently, the past month or two. It would be satisfying to find out what it means.
edit: overflows? in transit? dungeons? other instances?….argh

Whatever it is it’s something specific to characters/accounts rather than servers.
I’ve just looked and 2 people in my guild are both on Anvil Rock. One has the [D] tag and the other doesn’t.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
Ok so….
I’m on NSP, I’m in a TC guild. A member of the guild was in wvw on TC and had a D next to their name. Only I can see it, they see nothing. So it may have to do with the fact they are technically on another servers wvw. Now NSP isn’t against TC in WVW so thats out, but idk what DE means still or if any of this helped..

Ok, to simplify things here is a complete list of servers with a language tag after the name. Please note there are all EU servers, there are no US servers with language tags.
Abaddon’s Mouth [DE]
Drakkar Lake [DE]
Dzagonur [DE]
Elona Reach [DE]
Kodash [DE]
Miller’s Sound [DE]
Riverside [DE]
Augury Rock [FR]
Fort Ranik [FR]
Jade Sea [FR]
Vizunah Square [FR]
Baruch Bay [SP]
If any server other than those has a tag after the name, and if that tag says anything other than [DE], [FR] or [SP] it’s not a language tag and nothing to do with the language used on that server.

Tarnished Coast player was in WvW on Tarnished Coast US. They had [D] Which server are you on, and which server were they on?

Yeah, i checked again since my last post, and it’s definitely not language related. The only thing i can be sure for now that it’s somehow tied to WvW.
Remember, remember, 15th of November
Actually it may be language related.
On the wiki the tag for spanish server is ES (espaƱol, espana)
If your language setting is english, in my case, i noticed the tag SP in my EU server list.
I am going to presume that with SP is meant a spanish server.
So, D or DE for a german server.
I noticed both D and DE tags in my guild roster list.
The difference could be what language settings the person has set that is on a german server.

Except one can not guest to an EU server from NA, and sometimes it shows up on our NA based guildies. So, no one is on a German-language server.
Actually it may be language related.
No, it is not. It’s WvW specific, a [D] tag (German one is [DE]), shows on english language servers as well, and is inconsistent (the same servers can show up with and without the tag).
Actually, might be nice for one of the devs to pop in and explain it, because so far i have found no sensible explanation for it.

Am I missing something here? You can’t enter WvW while guesting, so why is it assumed to be about WvW? The most obvious answer, to me, is that the player is in a dungeon on a different server (either guesting or joining a party with people from other servers).
[DE] – German server
[D] – Guesting and in a dungeon or not guesting, but in a dungeon hosted on another server.
Kyxha 80 Ranger, Sokar 80 Necro
Niobe 80 Guardian, Symbaoe 45 Ele
tinfoil hat
Diminished returns

Because it happens to players whose location i KNOW to be WvW (and whose are still on the same server as i am – not guesting. I have no idea where the different server info comes from at all, the [d] tag only messes it up even more). It does not happen to the players in dungeons.

*All US servers.
Guild on A server.
Player 1 on A server.
Player 2 on B server.
Player 2 sees player 1 as [D] while player 2 is in WvW.
Thats whats happening. TC is not a german server. Player 1 does not see a D next to their own name. It has something to do with the fact people who are seeing the letter are not on the same server, and hence could not be in the same WvW. Guesting doesn’t allow to WvW with other servers.
This is my experience with it, Astrals is different.
