I want a real update not one that gets removed in 3 months after it is released. We haven’t had a real update since november
tix was removed
Super adventure box was removed
frost and flame was removed
southsun is being removed
Make a update that is permanent in the game.
I’m losing interest in the game because nothing stays!!! I’m sick of it. Most games an updates stays forever unless they need to fix it. Who agrees that why need more permanent content

as a casual player. because of work I missed the karka event and didn’t have enough time after doing dailies for frost and flames .
so anything that is temporary I will not be able to finish it.
I totally agree with you.

i like the fact that world changes and there are temporal events, something should be left back though, not only the story of how it’s changed…
now, shouldn’t we see somewhere some remnants of the molten alliance? shouldn’t we discover some nodes in some specific deep cave with nodes where you could dig azurite?
the molten facility has been shutted down, so we can’t go back there, but at least mobs should stay.

karka event did this, the ancient karka is gone for good (or so we are supposed to believe) but the ma kitten till there… now changed and improved… and why can’t i get a speedo to tan my self on the beach?

so yes, i know that at one point in my gameplay i’m gonna miss something, but i like the changing evolving world, and fortunately it doesn’t change in a day like happened with karka, they are giving us plenty of time (so much people complained on how slow paced the story arc was) to enjoy new content with no much time to put in it (people managed to finish all the achievement the first day with both the backpack awarded)

ya I dont’ like the living story thing. It’s like you spend a couple hours finish it(thanks to duffy) and there’s nothing left to do in a month.

the sab or molten factory dungeon is a bit better because it is repeatable.

I like what they’re doing and they’re rewarding some dedicated players for doing all the tedious events with these special items. However, I think with each chapter of the living story something permanent should be added.

FnF: Molten Dungeon + questing areas hatchery and cragstead. Maybe a heart in each, special vendor that sells something special like a new set of karma armor or something.

Southsun: New underwater areas or expanding on southsun in terms of content there. Not just putting buildings on it. Maybe some underwater ruins/mini dungeon. Another dungeon. (A new dungeon per chapter would be smart to do imo).

Yeah, that’s my only real issue with the Living Story thing, I wish we’d see at least one heart, one new mini dungeon, one new threat, something left over afterword to remind us “this happened!”. I guess the Karka kind of do that in the Cove, but until now there’s been no reason to go back – I hope they give us one after this event.

I’m sorry I stepped outta yer box, don’ worry, if
ya whine enough they’ll put me right back.

They have already said that they might add back the molten dungeon as a fractal in the future.

The point of the living story content is that you aren’t paying a subscription. They want to keep you logging on and buying things out of the gem store every once in a while. If you can’t log on for 3-4 hours every 3 months then I don’t think the problem is really with the living story content, you simply don’t have enough time for video games.

You could always do what I do and not go to Dulfy, until you’ve tried it on your own or you’re absolutely positively stuck and running out of time. Dulfy is not a requirement to do content. In fact, when I was first playing games, there were no hint books, nor was there internet and you just had to figure out stuff for yourself.

When I was young, the internet was called books. lol

Dulfy is a very useful tool, but it can ruin the game if you allow it. Sure you can do everything in a day following dulfy..but it could take you a lot longer if you actually played the content instead of running through it.

This is my approach as well…. Try it on my own, have fun finding all the little pieces / completing achievements without a step by step walk through. Then, when I finally start to get frustrated, look up the guide and fill in the pieces I missed. Its entertaining, makes it last a little longer, and its a little more fulfilling.

Going straight to the walkthrough sort of kills it

Don’t look at me like that. Whatever you’ve heard, it’s probably not true.

I guess you have forgotten about all the features that have been introduced since november, just off the top of my head:

- Preview on TP
- Culling slider in WvW
- Team colors option in PvP/WvW
- Custom Arenas (beta)
- Spectator mode (beta)
- Guild missions
- WPX
- Countless bug fixes (dare I say Fractal disconnection bug?)
- Revamped Dailies & new Ascended items

Saying that the updates haven’t added anything permanent to the game is silly. Arenanet have announced a while ago that their focus for the first half of this year is to improve the core game, not to add new content. Besides, the parts of the living story that make sense to still exist WILL remain ( Cragstead & Hatchery, new settlements/events in Southsun ).

P.s. SAB isn’t gone forever and will be back in a few months with hard mode and World 2.

“We have no first-person view because stupid people would lock into it”
“You can’t have more than 10 HS decks because that would confuse people”
“30 fps is more cinematic”

My main problem isn’t that I wasn’t here for half of the event and I missed it. My problem is when you associate achievements with a specific content and then delete it. I was here for the first 2 months of it and did all the achievements and the content stayed so when I had to go out of the country for a few weeks I said “no worries, apparently the content isn’t going anywhere”, came back yesterday and it’s over, gone and now I have a bunch of achievs that I can’t get anymore. At least with seasonal events I can always get them next year, but this sucks…

actually I imagine every year seasonal achievements and activities are going to be different.
Other than that they’re attempting to create a living world. You can’t do that with permanent content.

Some things should stay permanent, such as minigames like this crab toss (oh so much fun and frustrating), but events and storylines really should give way to new ones if they plan on making a living story that changes and grows.

Elona, Land of the Golden Sun….and undead…and poison. The travel brochure lied okay?!
