So I was all excited about the new daily choices but was very disappointed when they were so restrictive.
Essentially this game is a sandbox world but the dailies force you to move into certain areas. And, due to TP costs, this diminishes your returns on completing dailies.

But I was getting by as there always seemed to be 5 non-area-specific dailies to do. But today’s dailies seem completely impractical and expensive. Especially the eat 25 food! Ain’t nobody got time for that!
Even if I bought 25 loafs of bread it would still cost 10 silver!

Flat out you are lying with this.. 25 loafs for 10 silver? I did this 2 nights ago for 45 copper..

So OP before you rant , get a clue.. 10 silver. man you are just nuts..

Stuff like the “eat 25 food” daily is there to chip away at the excess food supply in the game in the hopes of making it worth making all those foods that are 1-2c again one day.

That much is obvious.

Salvaging 500 items for the monthly is the same deal, getting rid of lots of excess junk in the TP. Often the best/cheapest salvages aren’t the ordinary salvagable hides, rags etc that are made purely to be salvaged. So it clears more junk.

Same for the “make 5 things in the mystic forge”, getting rid of stuff because they know 95% of people are going to clear it by just buying the cheapest stuff possible and throwing it in there, eliminating it from the game.

These are useful things for the economy and they want you to do them.
