About 2300 hours on my main account, since 9pm on the 24th of August.

Showing time online for users, on the forum, would not always be accurate. My primary account is not the same as the one Log into the forum with.

1964 hours total, 1176 of which on my ele. >.>

2,537hrs 52mins over the past 9 months

slowed down my playing over the past few weeks while playing other games but still log in for the daily and the odd dragon event

1168 in 10 months (head start)
5 lvl 80 characters so far…fun stuff.

I have played on all my characters for 1856 hours and on my main arround 3/4 of that time.I hate leveling alts.
Every few months of playing i’m doing a week break.The game won’t run from me nor the gear

I do believe that video game/Internet addiction is referenced in the new DSM-5 (2013) as a condition for further study. I’m sure this doesn’t apply to most here but it is being considered as an actual diagnosable disorder.

Sadism and masochism used to be in the DSM and they removed them as a disorder. Something being in a book doesn’t make it fact, even the DSM.

There are probably people who are addicted to video games. However, it’s far more likely to me that there are people who are depressed or anxious and they’re SELF-MEDICATING with video games.

Considering the damage some prescription meds do to people, I’m not sure video game addiction is the big problem here.

Treat the depression, and you’ll have less people addicted to video games.

It’s not a healthy way to “medicate” yourself but I personally would consider it better than drugs or some other kind of self-inflicted harm. Depression, anxiety and all those other lovely disorders that so many people suffer can be soothed by actively keeping your mind focused on something else.
I’m much better than I used to be and have recently made some huge strides, so hopefully I can stop spending 8+ hours a day (sometimes 8hours straight) with video games and start getting my life together. All I know is that regardless of whether I wasted many years of my life playing video games or not, at least when I get older I can look back and think how much better it was for me to have medicated myself with video games instead of drugs.

I don’t understand how people can have more than 1000 hours. Maybe I’m just too casual.

Because they probably play more than 3 hours/day :P

Last year, I had afternoons and nights free, so I’d play like 5-6 hours a day, hit 1k hours with 7 months

But this time, I got a job haha. But I still play at night, but something like 2 hours, a bit less sometimes
I have to admit that I overplayed and that made me stop playing a lot, especially after the 5th month. I feel that I’m enjoying the game a lot more now that I don’t play a lot

Hi, I started out with Guild Wars and then got Guild Wars 2 to be able to do something with my son who lived 6 house away by car. I love it and I am a 74 year old lady. I play everyday, even if it is just to do dailies. Both my son and his wife play and now I have a niece who I got into it. She was a WOW person, but likes Guild Wars 2 also. I wish more olesters would get into playing. If you are living alone, it gives you something to do and is fun.

And if GW2 doesn’t disappoint me in the future, (not that it ever did in the past!) i’ll be gladly giving it those 12h+ a day still, just because it’s such a unique game. A game that, for me, has absolutely no rival on the MMORPG market to this day

There will always be those people who say the people with more hours than them have no life blah blah blah. It’s amazing what people can do if they don’t need that much sleep, don’t have children, don’t have your life. Everyone is different and everyone has different spans of time they can play in. Don’t be so ignorant and think that these people don’t have any lives, sometimes they probably have a bigger social life than you outside of the game.

I just want to point out how great it is when multiple generations of a family get into games together this way. I love it.
