What is your main/favorite class to play?
I’m loving reaper and druid, herald ok if they just stop nerfing the poor class to the ground.
Warrior/Berzerker all the way for me. Especially now that Gunflame is a thing for Rifle warriors, making Charr great again.
Elementalist. It’s a kill before you are killed style that just doesn’t get boring. Especially in HoT.
I came for the necromancer. I stayed for the reaper.

PvE – Ranger (Maurader with Durability Runes, longbow & axe/warhorn)
WvW – Berserker (Dire with Forgeman Runes, longbow & sword/torch)
A heretic’s voice in your head
A stargazer, releaser
I would have to say my ele is my main, simply based on hours played on her. Ele is also one of my favorite classes to play, especially dagger / warhorn tempest, but it’s not my only favorite. I’ve always enjoyed necro, mesmer, and ranger too. Right now I’m spending oodles of time with reaper, and chrono is next on my list.
1st- Engie (NOT Scrapper, just base Engineer)
2nd- Reaper (NOT base Necro, just ES Reaper)
that it makes every other class in the game boring to play.”
Hawks
PvE – Can’t decide between Reaper & Ranger
WvW – Depends on my play style mood; either Chrono or Reaper.
Mine are my Mesmers, unfortunately every time they do an update my class gets nerfed more and more…..
Ranger.
Technically druid, but since I only use 1 signet and occasionally the Celestial Avatar skills (mainly 3 and 4) I feel like it’s inaccurate to call her a druid.
It’s hard to say why exactly, other than I like hybrid builds that do damage in a variety of ways at once (in this case direct, condition and pets) and nature themed classes, but I always seem to be drawn towards classes like this in any RPG. In Dragon Age I play a rogue with the ranger specialisation, in Neverwinter Nights (single player, not online) it was a nature themed Cleric and I recently went back to Baldurs Gate and after a lot of debate ended up playing a ranger there too.
I also really enjoy elementalist and engineer.

Assassin. But I settle for Thief.
My main before HoT was Elementalist, but after HoT my main is the Scrapper.
Revenant/Herald even after the nerfs for sure.
I loved playing my condi warrior in pve. But thanks to the nerfs in the name of balancing pvp that effects all realms of the game, my pve condi warrior is shelved. Now, I just float between my others (and I have all classes, etc) and have no true favorite currently. Everytime I do, another “balance” comes along (in the name of pvp) that shelves my then-fav pve class. I give up.

I don’t understand…
Condi Warrior is considered one of the two top classes in PvP right now. I’d imagine it should be good for PvE too?

Elementalist – The nerfs to Elementalist with the patch were minuscule and don’t really affect the Elementalist’s spot as the best team fighting sustain class in the game right now. You’ll see an Elementalist on pretty much every competitive team, currently.
Warrior – Before the patch, Warrior could be handled by proper rotations from a Mesmer, which also brought more team utility. It was still very underrated, but with the recent nerfs to Mesmer and Druid, Warrior is going to be a core role in pretty much every competitive team.

Good news. Condi and Condi-hybrid warriors are really strong right now. There’s been many posts in the warrior sub-forums lately of ways to make ‘em shine. I don’t know what your previous build was, so yeah you might have to change some things. But, Condi-warrior rocks… even the PvP/WvW suggestions just need a slight tweaking to make ’em work well in PvE.

I haven’t played all the elites, but Guardian/Dragonslayer so far for me.
Why what others play matters, I don’t know, since we all have our preferences. Not to mention there are 3 game modes and many different things to do in PvE, so where and how one plays makes a difference as well.

was about to quote it to :\, ur faster. Ç_Ç
And yes warrior condi was buffed, for what i heard they are very compared to old rev and actual scrapper.
I play mostly WvW and if not only, very rare go to pvp unless to test a few builds.
Im using a vitatality DH blocky build with mace shield, as u guys cant imagine i cant do nothing, others have beter survuability andbetter damage even on bunker stats
Pondering to change to ravenant or warrior with the lvl80 tome.

Yes, I’ve literally just now started playing around in pvp with my condi warrior. Not pvp’d a whole bunch in GWs (despite my over 6k hrs in the game lol). Have a hard time getting into it compared to others I have but I am just now on my condi. Thanks all for the heads up! However, to answer someone else’s question, condi warrior has not made a comeback in pve. They have made it more survivable in pvp and, lets face it, pvp is all about condi’s atm. How much you can dump on another, how fast, and how much/fast can you cleanse it. That’s the current state of the art in pvp – condi. So, at least in pvp I can play on my condi warrior if I get into pvp more. PvE – not yet but perhaps soon.
Hard to say. Going by the most hours clocked, it is probably the elementalist, since I use that one for fractal running. But I explore new content with my thief first.

My warrior is currently spec’d to condi… I use a lot of the traits that are popular… but I definitely don’t use the common/suggested gear. I think quite the opposite. I mostly PvE, and I’m having a blast in the HoT maps…. I stumbled on my gear load-out somewhat accidentally when I was trying to gear for tanking/survival in dungeons and fractals.
I’m not sure specifically what you’re looking to get out of your condi-warrior in PvE, but perhaps a thread in the sub-forums might yield you a couple suggestions to help make it happen?
I wanna see more warriors out there warrioring the mordrem to death!

1. Reaper
2. Mesmer
Playing Mesmer lately and really enjoying that class, but I think Reaper is still tops for me.
Guardian.
I love the crowd control.
I love keeping an eye on the entire battlefield while facetanking bosses.
Knowing I can pop up a wall of reflection to nullify a lot of party-wipes.
Or to pop up a quick “Retreat!” when there’s a dangerous attack incoming.
Perhaps it’s because I’ve played the profession a lot but Guardian feels terribly natural to me.
a small, casual Guild with a play as you want style.
I love staff eles. It’s simply the looks. I blame Final Fantasy.
Second would be dagger/dagger ele, it’s again because of looks (I have never gotten into it skill wise) and also because daggers are cool, and it’s another ele.
My main: Tempest, cause awesome! Reaper is my second favorite even though I didn’t like Necro..ugh.

#EloniaIsBae
Chronomancer because I’m drawn to magical duelists and time mages. I also have an unfortunate history of picking underdog classes (Sorcerer in DAoC; pre-spirit buff Ritualist in GW1) so I may be something of a masochist.
Necromancer forever!
I love power and condi reaper.
My current desktop (I have no icons on it, all is getting sorted/downloaded in corresponding folders and “My Computer” and “Recycle Bin” are in the taskbar)
Says it all. Both the class and race. The reason what got me hooked to GW2 and I do not care about anything else. Asura would be still a reason to dive into this Franchise but being an Asura Engineer is probably one of the best things for my alternative ego. Love it. First time I see heavy, real-life weaponry next to an oldschool mage in an MMO and it just goes well together. Fun gameplay, the Noble Armor is beautiful and together with the top hat actually suits my real-life style.
It basically comes all together. Thanks ArenaNet for giving me a new MMORPG home after SquareEnix managed to turn me away and other Franchises lack good races/lore/feel.
EDIT: Gamma correction. On my PC it’s fine, on my tablet it was way too dark.

The only reason I play GW2 is because Mesmer exists.
Always Necromancer.
Warrior/Berzerker all the way for me. Especially now that Gunflame is a thing for Rifle warriors, making Charr great again.
Didn’t they nerf Gunflame?
Elementalist for their versatility.
I’ve done everything from Fire DPS to Earth Tank. I know most toons can roll multiple rolls but I feel like the Elementalist does it best, not necessarily the best AT the roll mind you but defiantly the best at filling whats in need.
Warrior for life.
My main class is Necro.
It was my first character. I can’t seem to play anything else as comfortably.
Daredevil. Not thief. Daredevil. With a staff. And dodges. Lots of them.
I just can’t play any other class.
Currently my two favourites are
Shortbow / Bleed Ranger (not the Druid variant). Nice and quick gameplay that facerolls pve. Fun playing with action cam on and piercing arrows through everything. Good farmer.
Sword/Torch + Longbow Berserker with full Signets & Celestial gear for maximum raw stats. Medium damage, nice mobility, and strong passive defenses.
For me always Thief. My first character too. I’ve leveled all classes to 80 except Warrior and liked them all for various reasons. But, it always comes down to just loving the dagger/dagger pistol/pistol thief. Daredevil is a nice change of pace too!
Mintari Le Voss – 80 – Mesmer
Winslow Heer – 80 – Ranger
The only reason I play GW2 is because Mesmer exists.
I’m in the same boat. I tried finding other games that have that kind of playstyle, but other than some clunky Skyrim mods, the search turned up blank.
D/D ele, mesmer and thief. I had a lot more fun with my ranger three years ago, but I still get a kick out of it every now and again.
Engineer
Because if you’re going to kill something you may as well be doing it in style.
My main or my first character will always be a warrior (or a class excel in greatsword melee cleaving)
But i also played every class to lv80.
My current main and fav in both pve and pvp, Berserker and Reaper
Besides greatsword cleaving i also enjoy to play something with mind play, Chronomancer and Elementialist came close.
My first main was necro, and I loved the class but hated that it was worthless in PvE, so I switched to warrior with HoT. Ironically, warrior was kitten in PvP until April, which is my main focus, but I’m finally enjoying it again currently.
I still like necro, though, I just don’t see the point of playing multiple characters when it’s so hard to finish gearing a single character in ascended and whatnot. If I ever have a different main after my warrior, it will probably be another heavy armor class just so I don’t have to farm for 8 months for another set of gear.
I don’t really have a main character, and it’s rare I play the same character multiple days running. I also tend to prefer different characters for different things, like bunker Engie for WvW roaming, Staff Ele for WvW herd play (though I play less since the Stab changes), and Ranger for HoT, as the pet covers a multitude of sins on my part.
Still, if I had to say… I now have one more Necromancer than Ele, so it looks like Necro is my favored profession. My least favored profession is Guardian. I’ve deleted an L73 and an L80 and thus have no Guards, and no plans to add one.
My main character is a Reindeer Charr Ranger named Krosan Beast (you might of seen me). It’s the only character I really play and not tired of it at all. Here and there I might jump on my other characters.
Other than that, I dislike the Druid ever since I tried it during beta.
Decided to add two pictures:

Warrior, that’s why I have 4 of them.
