What keeps YOU playing?
Oh hey Blood , ur back :P
Love tPvP here :P
why don’t you start working on some titles, do a jumping puzzle or 2.
For me what keeps me in the game apart from the game its self is being able to enjoy it with my guild mates
Honestly, the biggest draw for me is the RP. GW2 is my first RP experience (I’m on Tarnished Coast) and it’s made a complete addict out of me. I absolutely love it.
Once the bugged content is ironed out, I’ll enjoy Orr a lot more. It’s a fracking bugfest in there right now.
OT: Need more town clothes for RPing!
Just hit 80, still need to finish exploring that map.
Also, want to make my other four characters. =]
Plus, in the long run, make Eternity for my Warrior.
Sanctum of Rall

I’ve shelved it I am a avid pve player dont care for pvp in MMO’s. I have my gear I think looks the best not a huge fan of alts as its replaying content and I love my guardian play style. I found the dungeons boring and I dont want to grind a legendary (so no reason to get 100% map completion as that gets a bit old anyhow). So I will be shelving it until other ontent is release. WAR OF THE ROSE TIME IN A FEW DAYS!!!!!!!!
Create an alt and level it up to 80.
Sorry but I hardly believe starting with a different race/profession/area is like “repeating the same mundane content over and over”.
I’m having fun.
Lady Raevyn – 11 Necromancer – TC
Fanboy- The New Godwin’s Law.
I want to belive that one day all the bugs will be gone. That what keeps me playing so far.
Getting money to buy transmutation stones to change my armour at the mo,
then.. getting money to buy decent armour (stats) to change over again
That and the awesomeness of the game in general

Titles are well not really that great most people wont persue them unless the means of gettting them are enjoyable, because if not its just grinding your but off to get a word by your name

Do titles even work in this game? can’t say i’ve actually noticed any on anyone….

Well once you do the entire map or most of it as many do it is doing the same thing over and the stories all converge so yes the majority of it will be the same.

Well yes, actually that’s very true :/ I working on my explorer but for me its not the title, im actually really loving the scenery, finding the little nook with the qwerky and sometime insane NPCs in… Today i climbed right to the top of the south side of Mon Maelstrom. Call me sad but it felt really good to be stood up there….. Sorry for totally going OT there lol

Yes i have noticed a few with Titles on
Have you completed you personal story line? That may be an option if not
(sorry don’t know how to multi quote)
At the moment trying to get 100% map completion, actually explore the whole map (very different IMO, for one thing it includes talking to every named NPC I come across) and finishing my personal story.
As you may have guessed I’m taking it slow as far as levelling goes. After 55 hours on my main character I’m still only level 21, but I assume levelling will come over time.
After that I’ll probably focus on playing through the story on my alternate characters for a while, maybe getting some rare weapons and armor, maybe try PVP.
By the time I’m done with that I suspect they’ll have expansions out, and if not then probably titles or whatever else I’ve found to do along the way.

Yeah finished it before I stopped playing. Was very disappointed with the whole thing to be fair. Felt a bit rushed and clustered with a terrible ending…
I must not play enough, we are a month or more in and my highest level character is only level 32. I do have another alt that just turned 30 and a few smaller alts. I don’t understand the rush to level 80 I play maybe 10 – 15 hours a week. I suppose I would be 80 if I added up all my levels between my alts, but I like looking at the different story lines as well. I also keep my charcters in line with each other for purposes of crafting. I guess I have enough of a life that the game will contineu on for awhile yet.
I would leave, but I feel an obligation to all the in game ladies to stay and grace them with my company, and yes even the men pretending to be women. They deserve my charms just as much as the actual ladies.

Yes admittedly the ending wasn’t what i have hoped for, very much an anti-climax imo But i did however find my path enjoyable and to be honest would love to be able to re-run parts of it.
Nothing at the moment. Playing Minecraft more than GW2 recently. Just waiting for the plethora of issues to be patched. At least the kittened camera issues…

WAR of the roses $30 bucks try it out will keep gw2 fresher if you give it a break

Hee Hee! If your IGL is to bring love and joy to other then that’s how it should be.
And im sure those male who play female are truly trying to relate to there feminine side and they fully deserve you attention
I enjoy the play style of my elementalist.. so I continue exploring and finding interesting looking gear. I play GW2 for the same reason I played counter strike, supreme commander and master of orion for hours and hours; its fun.
I think the traditional MMO model has perverted gaming into some sort of job or career. People race through content to be the first and get the best gear to show off… its not about fun anymore, its about prestige and self esteem. That just isn’t healthy.
I keep playing because I’m having fun, sorry you got bored so quickly of it, maybe you’ll be back soon!
Boredom. I only go on these days to..
a) Play on my [warrior] toon. I mean, usually I finish the typical PVE stuffs from lvl 0-30, and then dungeon all the way from 30-80 (since they’re more fun & engaging; @Anet: we really need more types of casual dungeons) sinceit gets boring when you’ve done most of them repetitively. But that’s why I stopped doing dungeons (occasionally explorable for farming, but its a pain in the butt at times with a none-fully coordinated team).
b) Help out Guildmates in WvWvW or collecting mats? In general, helping out ppl you have a relationship with both in-game/RL.
I’ve personally gone back to play other games, since I’ve realized that there’s nothing much more for me to do in this game at this point. I’m not really into PVP (more of a Dota2 PVP type of player) or collecting legendary items (since everything graphical gets boring after seeing it awhile… then what? I’ll probably have to get another legendary item… this type of item hunting don’t give me any personal satisfaction).
Until they’ve either 1) unlock the other 50% of the world, 2) Fixed the traits bugs / added or modify weapons skills, or 3) Update the game with a significant patch….
I’m good to stay mostly side-line from this game for now.
I haven’t really logged in for the past few days. It wasn’t that I wasn’t enjoying the game or anything, but when it occurred to me recently that my long term goals were going to require 100s of hours of my time devoted to PvP, my interest level kind of tanked. Grinding mats and karma and such is tolerable, even fun, when I know that it’s moving me towards something. Some big goal way off on the horizon. Now that I realize that none of that work is actually going to be in furtherance of something worth all the effort (at least to my perspective), it makes everything feel kind of pointless and hollow. Even distasteful. I’ll log in to join friends and hang out with them, but without something to shoot for, there’s not enough to keep me coming back on my own.
I was happy to be able to avoid the raid grind that other games use to keep players hooked for months, only to run headlong into a PvP grind instead, that’s far duller and less rewarding. On the bright side, Torchlight 2 has been a blast.
i don’t know. I play only cause i have to wait few weeks and i don’t know how to spend my time. That’s it. Surely i don’t find the game funny or entertaining.
Wvw and tryin to see the world.
I dont believe you have actually see every contents in pve two weeks ago. There are a lot of puzzles, hidden areas, and events all over the world. What keeps the content fresh is how you interact with other people.
Now the real question is what keeps you going in a at max level other than gw2, and 99% of the answer would be," to raid a day per week."
I prefer the gw2 model tbh
Now it’s Twilight Arbor armor and t3 Sylvari cultural armor. Before it was 100% map completion but I am going to hold off on that. And then I’m still exploring a few other classes outside of Ranger so….lots? I’ve not even touched pvp yet…

It’s a tough job, and I am only one swagman, but someone has to do it.
Just keep your hands off my bulbs and we’ll get along just fine, Johnny Bravo.

I haven’t hit 80 yet, so that keeps me coming back, plus I want to get 100% on map completion.
It most certainly isn’t the PVP system that will keep me returning sadly.

I respect all of my silvari brother’s and sister’s stamens and pistils. Unless of course they prefer otherwise /wink
I’m still playing because I’m not treating the content like it was an eating contest. I’m leveling my 4 alts at my own pace and mixing it up with crafting and PvP whenever I feel like it.

the levelling experience, aside from world zerging the events, and the dungeons, is amazing.
very amazing.
its on big groups that it starts to get messy, cant see a thing etc.
man, i think some boss i didnt even see their graphic because there was more than 10 players casting all kind of flashy stuff on repetion.
There’s still so much to see and do… zones I haven’t touched yet, crafting to level, and I want to experience play at higher level on my alts of different professions. I will be busy for some time yet to come.
Waiting For Death [WFD]
@ Borlis Pass Server
i’m kind of on my last legs here, myself – i joined a nice guild, so for about a week i set aside my time to help members’ lower alts level, or help with story stuff, etc. i offer help, and one of them asked, “why do you keep asking to help us? what’s your problem?” that kind of struck a chord with me, negatively.
was it wrong to ask in guild chat if anyone needed assistance? i mean, it’s a social game, and i might not know much about crafting or pvp, but if you want to know how to get the vista or SP, i will be nearby in passing to help out, if possible. i guess the game can be solo’d with the right mindset and skills/gear – i am very sad that i can’t go out of my way to help people in this game.
someone in the guild finally took my offer, and all day sunday, we played for hours together, and it was amazing.
i will probably stop playing once i get my bearings on my Elementalist – i am going for armor sets right now, and probably will stop once i attain them, and wait for new content to arrive.
besides Events and daily grinds for dungeons and such, it seems like solo play is prominent in PvE. maybe someday i will just leave the guild and go back to true solo play. i seemed to be more helpful to random players when not attached to a guild.

Everything, and Everything else.
Someone said it right. In WoW and other MMOs, you just played a waiting game for one raid a week, maybe two if you were ‘casual-hardcore’. I remember hours on end in WoW sitting there flying. No point in doing anything. The game was avoiding as much content as possible. Hated killing random mobs. Had to keep in mind the 50 daily quests to run and do, or not, and if not, ugh, what a waste. Stupid flying simulator.
In GW2 just about everything you are doing is downright fun. That’s why people stay. Now, statistics show the initial burst of players playing is gone, but the fun level is going up for those who stick around. The game is deep. I’ve only begun to chip away at the meta game in WvW. It’s insanely good. For PvE players who need a long term carrot to make them keep playing, there are other games for that. And I agree, GW2 is not that game. Fancy gear cosmetics only go so far. But then you realize, that’s all you were doing in WoW or other games. Getting the gear to look cool and represent your higher stats. In GW2 you can get gear to look cool, with the only change being it doesn’t make you better than anyone else because you played for 200 hours. It just means you have a cool looking item. You can still be complete crap when it comes to actual gameplay, and that turns off the bad players a lot.
I keep playing because the game is deep, and the meta game is insanely complex. It’s where my mind can pull together all the diverse possibilities and chain them together into a working strategy against my enemies. I MAY go off GW2 a little with Planetside 2, but that’s because they’re doing F2P, however point and click and then die to a tank can only be fun for so long. Fun is the redeeming factor and GW2 delivers, and will continue to do so.
