What keeps you clockin in to Gw2
WvW and virtually nothing else. I’ll give living story content a whirl when it comes out but for the most part the novelty wears off quickly.
Devona’s Rest [OHai][GloB]
Exploring and interacting with the community. I like to roam around meeting others and discovering new areas. There is a ton of content and I will probably never be able to do it all. My slow playstyle allows me to enjoy the game much longer than many other players
My guild. I like the game…I love the guild.
I like playing the game. I enjoy all the new content that is released so often. I have fun anticipating and receiving cool drops to outfit my characters with. I am a Guild Wars fan. =)
WvW.
Ocasionaly some dungeon/fractal run or some exploration/guild activities and living story. But most of my playtime is on WvW.
My guild, collecting dyes and playing all my characters. Maybe even in that order of importance. I do love festivals too so this month living story also helps me log.
WvW and tPvP.
/chars
Zaphiel Faires – DPS Guardian
PvE end game does it for me. A smart person could never get bored with all that’s on offer.
Planning to finish few things off pve (manly skins like T3 – legg – rare exo etc), then wvw all time.
With some trips in PvE from time to time for new stuff/getitng money for wvw.
Most used: Guard/Mes/War/Nec/Ele.
Yes, i use 5 chars at time. Because REASONS.
I just enjoy playing the game- I like playing most of my characters and I have different characters for different moods.
Atm I’m roaming Mt Maelstrom on my Ranger, doing the living Story on my Engi, hitting some events on my Mesmer, doing personal story on my new Thief- trying to decide if she will make the cut or not.
Trying to figure out if I’m ever not going to suck at Ele…
lots of things really
i get the feeling majority of u well under 2k hrs
I enjoy playing Guild Wars 2. I like exploring maps sometimes just stop for a while and and look at the landscape or listen some NPC conversations. Sometimes, like for a 1 or 2 times do a dungeon run in the month. Kill a dragon, do some events on diffrent locations. WvW is pretty good also is PvP but I’m not a huge fan of PvP but it’s nice to do it from time to time. I don’t like farming because it’s boring for me. Trying to craft my own legendary weapon without buying rares materials so it will probably take me a lot of time but I don’t mind.
I just enjoying this game.
1. Being very curious about every single new thing
2. Wanting to have 8 level 80s, all with ascended items, all with the prettiest gear
3. Me switching builds a lot (I look at my characters think to myself of what was I thinking, spend a bunch of gold and laurels to respec, now I need money for my not yet level 80s again)
WvW…
…annnnnnd maybe someday I’ll go for map completion.
No sympathy for the Devil, keep that in mind.
Buy the ticket, take the ride.
Its same like in other MMOs – good people in my guild. MMO can be absolutly perfect (and GW2 isnt so far from that imo) but if you havent good friends to play with game will bore you to death.
Tekkit’s Workshop
Daily’s and my ALT chars. I have only 3 chars to lvl 80 and am busy with mesmer and guardian.
i get the feeling majority of u well under 2k hrs
Can’t talk for anyone else but I’m over 3k.
i get the feeling majority of u well under 2k hrs
Sorry, but you didn’t guess correctly in my case. =)
Try to do Jumping puzzles as fast as possible.
Need to get a little higher with fractals as well. (only at 31 at the moment)
And currently leveling a norn warrior, Just found out Ogres are awesome creatures
I hardly play WvW, only rank 3 there i think
I do like sPvP and tPvP a lot.
Trying lots of crazy builds too like condition warrior or bunker thief etc.
No sub? Updates.
Hey OP, I keep HoD LA classy too ya know. As for what keeps me clocking in to gw2, dailies and the remainder of my friends list that hasn’t quit
Show off my fancy Quip @ LA :p
game doesnt ask anything from you really. Just log in when you feel like. Im pretty burnt out on mmos in general. Quit wow ankitten ot going back. GW2 helps satisfy my pvp itch when it comes around.
I think the mmo genre in general is getting old to alot of us vets
WvW and above all WvW with my guild on TS
Guild wars’ PvE and sPvP are not enough engaging, this game for me would be dead in 6 months without WvW
WvW and the community I found there is what keeps me logging in daily. I’ve met a far greater number of interesting and fun people in WvW than in any other part of GW2.
I like to come home from a job that isn’t all that rewarding, to jump into the skin of my ranger, or my warrior, or my mesmer. Sometimes it’s my engineer or my thief. I like to just relax and focus on simple objectives, like the daily, or finishing the hearts in my current zone. Or maybe I’ll just pick a zone I haven’t been to and explore. I don’t expect GW2 to be the end-all 5 star restaurant that fulfills everything – I’m content to let it just wipe away the grime of a normal everyday workday and dip my toes in another world that seems a lot more simple and complete.
Lack of life. I tried it once, the graphics were great, but there was never any sorta rewards, the story sucked and pvp was completely unbalanced.
I chose GW2 over other mmo’s though, ‘cause it has so many things to do, the gem store/RNG ain’t that bad and lot of the male characters are pretty much fan service.
WvW is home to all my characters now, they’re all specced for it from creation and levelled there too, mostly.
First off, my small guild is awesome and wouldn’t want to play with anyone else. Always enjoy chatting with everyone.
I still gotta get some armor/weapon skins for my characters as well as some exotic armor/weapons.
I enjoy doing dungeons. I also like doing dungeons just to help someone in my guild to get them a piece of armor/weapon they want. I do some WvW occassionally.
The events Anet keeps adding are fun
The living story stuff – I just like it, I guess I’m broken
General character progression – alt-o-holic, only managed to get 1 to 80, with a handful of others all over the board
The occasional bait the troll session – when you need a fight, there’s nothing like picking one in LA
The ‘I feel like frustrating myself terribly’ moments – some would probably say ‘when I feel like a challenge’ – this is where I attempt jumping puzzles. Frustrating for me, hilarious for anyone watching.
I could keep going, but I’ll end it there….
It’s fun. I like fun.
[TTBH] [HATE], Yak’s Bend(NA)
I like just wandering around fighting stuff. I don’t bother with wvw or pvp, as I find both to be incredibly boring.
I stay because I loved the first GW and the idea of not having a sub . There’s a lot I like about GW2 that’s why I stay .
Well for the select few thats why i said MAJORITY lol
Working towards my legendary, playing mini-games, leveling alts, and probably the single biggest reason I keep logging in:
Competing against my guildmates for achievement points. For some reason I find this thoroughly entertaining. I log in, someone passed me by like 10 points, omg I better get some achievements! Once you get in the 5k+, it starts to get real competitive since all of the easy stuff is out of the way, you actually have to find things to accomplish!
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
WvW and legendary grind
I seem to never get tired of WvW
Well for the select few thats why i said MAJORITY lol
Because the others did not post their hours played, it does not automatically mean they are well below 2K hours. Your assumption is just that, an assumption.
I am closing in on the 2K myself, I am just a bit below.
- Alts, well they’re all my “mains” all 8 classes.
- i still like to roam leaping from event to event wherever they might take me (love this is this game, never bothered to read startegies and figure out patterns)
- tPvP, across all 8 alts. It’s nice when you reach that point in a learning curve of a competitive game when you stop sucking. And i’m right there :P
- and WvW ( i actually enjoy leveling “alts” more than play my 80s in WvW)
Only reason why I’m still here is because my friends whom I met through farming. We have our own little farming group.
Otherwise I would be out of here

Magic find works. http://sinasdf.imgur.com/
Only reason I’ve logged in at all these past few months has been for holiday events and the living story.
I play because I think it’s fun! Do something of this and do something of that etc.
Hard to put my finger on what’s so funny. I like doing quests and dungeons. As long as it’s challenging, it’s fun.
Btw: I have only played ~400 hours and that includes being AFK alot.
My complete list of reasons why I keep playing GWII would be a giant wall of text, so I’ll just list a few:
1. No subscription.
2. I still have a ton of content yet to experience. (I’ve only tried two story mode dungeons, haven’t touched crafting, only found a few jumping puzzles, I only have 1 level 80 so I still have a ton of personal story from other branches/races/orders yet to experience, have never done a fractal, I haven’t seen all event bosses… I could go on.
3. I feel at home in GWII. It is the perfect game for me.
4. ArenaNet keeps adding more content to the game and I love the holiday events.
5. Because of the dynamic events I can level up multiple characters and in every zone I go to I can have a new experience because of events I haven’t seen before.

What other game would or do you play then? If there are any oc.
COF P1. I want to finish it in under 5 minutes.
Not much anymore. I used to log in daily for hours but once i finished my legendary I found myself barely interested in the game anymore. I’ll log in once in a couple times per week now to catch up with a couple of friends that are still playing, help them with farming a bit, maybe go for a pug fractals run on the weekend. That’s about it these days!
I Login because:
my guild,
my friendlist
and to have fun ingame.

Non-MMOs. TF2 primarily.
As for MMOs I’m waiting for the re-release of Final Fantasy (I heard it’s doing great in beta) as well as Archeage & Wildstar. Which is a shame because back in January I was planning on playing GW2 for the next several years.

Because it’s fun.
How to Condi Reaper on a budget
Everything I say is only in reference to PvE and WvW.
I’m very much a casual player, and a slow one at that. I’ve been playing since launch but only 1 of my 5 characters is level 80 and I’ve only got about 35% map completion and have only done 3 or 4 dungeon paths. I haven’t tried WvW or PvP yet either.
So for me there is still a lot of content, even in the core game, that I have to do and that’s a big part of what keeps me playing. But I do also make time to do the Living Story stuff and do activities with my guild.
I imagine by the time I’m even close to finishing that lot there will be an expansion or something.
But if not, if I do run out of things to do I don’t see it as a big deal. I’ve already gotten thousands of hours out of this game and there’s no subscription so I can always go and do other things and then come back to it when there is something to do.
In fact I’ve still got a lot of GW1 hard mode to finish one day.
