What other zones have Champ Zergs?
Potentially any map, as every map has around 6 champs on it, but for whatever reason only queens/frost are zerged up
My guess is that these two maps are the most popular because they are on the extreme ends of the level line (1-17 for Queensdale and 70-80 for Frostgorge). Frostgorge also lacks the annoying Risen present in Orr, which makes it substantially easier to navigate.
It could also have something to do with the champs in these two maps being close to waypoints, but I’m just guessing.
“Memories are nice, but that’s all they are.”
I would so like a new zone to champ zerg in, with some interesting monsters to fight .
Cursed Shore has a champ farm
Queensdale (2 – 20)
Kessex Hills (20 – 40, this depends on the server you might have to guest somewhere)
Harathi Hinterlands (40/45 – 55/60, again this depends on the server, there are just 2 or 3 out there that actually do those zones and it’s more of a area event run than champions)
Mount Maelstrom (60 – 70/75, same thing. depending on server and trains on multiple events/meta)
Frostgorge (65/70/75 – 80, depending on the server some of the trains accept and watch out for a bit lower levels but most of the time it’s 75+)
During Halloween you have the Mad Realm that’s available to any level and a lot of servers still doing the trains there. At the moment (exception crafting, hearts, map completion, WwW) that’s the fasted method to level your alts, if you are on a populated server that looks after the lower levels a bit.)
I don’t know if somebody still doing the Orr trains, some people say that they still exist but looking at my server, Orr is just dead
There are quite some arguments for Frostgorge
- The zone is flat and easy to navigate
- Level 80 champs so best lootchance
- The champs do NOT SCALE !! because they are not part of Events, and so they are killed very much faster.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.

But you need to be very quick to get kill credit, or maybe I need more speed buffs as without those forget the frost’ train.
Thanks for this post, I only knew of the one in Queensdale.

When I’m on my ele or thief, I can keep up, but I have issues with mesmer unless I remap a couple skills.
For those with slow professions or lack of speed buffs or don’t want to remap to similar skill types: 1) Ask to group with a few folks in the zerg – it helps for the two bosses most people get to in the last 20-30% if their character is slow. 2)consider skipping the underwater worm (jump straight to brood mom and wait a minute or three), and skipping troll (get back to fish). Yes, you lose two bags, but if you can’t keep up, you run the risk of mssing more than that.
Mesmer is the only profession that don’t has a runbuff without using specific weapons. Ok Guardian has also to use 2 skills and they don’t last as long for permanent runspeed without a lot +boon duration.
Personally i mostly had a problem with the troll, and now i just port to fish after worm and take a break there when i don’t want to get stressed

Remember that just because there are 6 champs in the Frost chain, doesn’t mean you have to do all of them. I often skip either the wurm, troll or broodmother just to sell some items to make inv room or chase an ori node or mass salvage.
Remember that many professions have some sort of an underwater skill that lets you charge forward. Also, for the trains, you really only need to spam auto, so take all the traits and utilities you can for speed boosts. Blink, Shadowstep, ranger warhorn, engineer Speedy Kits, warrior banners, guardian shouts…they all make you faster. Champ farms are pretty mindless so you don’t need to run your fractal build. Retrait for speed if necessary (mesmer?).

If the train on your server kills the champs too fast, just guest to a slightly lower population server that you can keep up with … the champs will still go down very quickly.
