What race did you choose?
Asura for my engineer.
Human for my mesmer.
Norn for my guardian.
Charr for my warrior.
Dunno what else I’ll make.
My first 5 characters are all Asura. I looked over the racial lore after I got the game and I liked Asura the best. My highest level Asura are at various stages of the 3 story arcs. The other 2 will be deleted and rerolled as a different race so I can play some different racial lore.
I decided ever since races were announced during development. Charr! Glad I did, because all I ever see are humans and Norn…
Asura so I could be a Warrior.
Vekk was one of my favorite characters in Gw1. Snaff, and Cranxx in the books.
So in general, I like the Asura.
Maguuma – [TriM][DERP]
Charr for my engineer, although I now realize that making an engineer was a mistake from feedback on the forums.

I’d ignore the opinion of the forums. I do believe every single profession forum claims that theirs is by far the worst.
I chose norn for my warrior main because dwarf wasnt an option.
Theres logic in there somewhere…
I also made a human ele who looks exactly like his gw1 counterpart for continuity!
All humans…I’m boring and I dislike how hulky norn men are.
Read Wingless, a fantasy comic about a knight’s journey, here!
Human because I like my character (a least my main) to look like me, lol.
All humans…I’m boring and I dislike how hulky norn men are.
But but but, that makes them all sexy
Humans only.. They look the best, have ton less clipping issues and “move” with a good feeling of speed (ie not clunky and slow like norns, charr)
Human-Thief/Mesmer
Sylvari-Guardian
Charr-Warrior/Engineer
Asura-Elementalist
Norn-Necro/Ranger
I originally had a charr guardian, norn guardian, sylvari ranger, asuran necro but changed it up after hitting like lvl 20each.
Human: Warrior, Elementalist, Mesmer, Engineer.
Sylvari: Necromancer, Guardian.
Norn: Ranger.
Asura: Thief.
Charr: bank/mule character (aka Beast of burden).
I’m an altaholic so I have a ton of characters, and I still have open slots
Norn Ele
Human Necro
Asura Engineer
Human Warrior
Sylvari Ranger
Asura Mesmer
And I’m actually thinking about making a second Sylvari Ele
Only race I don’t have is Charr, the holes in their history and the complete nonsensical development of their culture just irks me to no end. They are the most unrealistic race I’ve ever seen.

My main (ranger) is a human because I wanted her to be descended from my GW1 characters.
My ele is a sylvari because I wanted an ele just because they seem fun and I wanted a sylvari for the same reason so it seemed logical to combine the two.
My engineer is a norn because I like the idea of her defying the races conventions and doing things her own way.
My thief is a charr for a similar reason – the contradictory nature of a huge monster sneaking up unseen is fun to me. But also because I like the Ash Legion.
My guardian is an asura because I liked the idea of a tiny girl with a giant sword holding off mobs. Although I’m not sure if it’s going to balance out the fact that I find the guardian fairly boring in general, so I might not keep her.
I guess I like contraditions.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
All of them!
Asura Necro
Sylvari Ele
Charr Engi
Charr Warrior
Norn Ranger
Human Thief
And just for the Hell of it, I may sometime convert gold to gems for an additional character slot where upon I’ll create an Asura Guardian
At first, Human. They have the easiest starting zones, and the zones were more populated I found then the others. After rerolling a few times I made my warrior a Asura, though I hated the cult sets. At the moment my Ele is a Sylvari, with glow turned down to min =p
My main (ranger) is a human because I wanted her to be descended from my GW1 characters.
Change “her” to “him” and that describes my GW2 main.
Sylvari mesmer
Sylvari warrior
Human guardian
Human thief
Human elementalist
Norn Ranger
all male
I want to make a charr but I feel like I’d get sick of the running animation and I do not like asura, too small.
I decided ever since races were announced during development. Charr! Glad I did, because all I ever see are humans and Norn…
Me too.
Right now I have 3 charr, 1 human, 1 sylvarri, and 1 asura. I plan on making a norn and another charr. I want at least 1 of each race for the lore as well as the achievements. But charr is my favorite race.
Asura is hands down the most entertaining race to me. Best dance and animations, nice detail. I love the Charr and how their tails swish back and forth, and they run on all fours.
HOWEVER, I run human or norn, cus they are sexy or Big and sexy.
Also….I thought before the game came out that I’d want to be a Sylvari when I heard about them, but plant ppl is just not really that ……idk….its plant ppl.
Char Female Engineer, because seriously, how often are you going to see one of those?
human. because im human irl.
My most played race is probably Charr. (Out of my five characters, both my Elementalist and Warrior are Charr.)
Female Charr are just so well designed.
With that said, My Guardian is human as that race fit him the best.
My Thief is a sylvari, kind of just brainstormed a character idea and made a sylvari Thief.
My Ranger is a norn. Didn’t have a norn yet and wanted to make one. Decided Ranger fit her best and didn’t have a Ranger yet.

Charr. All of them. I love their lore. Especially the Ash Legion. The charr are actually unique in their appearance. Not just a human body with an animal head stuck on it. They’re also above the typical stereotype of animal people = stupid and tribalistic you find in every other MMO. I always play the most non-human looking race when given a choice. I find humans to bland and boring for my tastes. I am one IRL after all, and the lore surrounding humans in video games is always the same. Usually some mirror of a past culture or event in our own history.
I hate playing anything that resembles human in MMOs TBH. Elves, dwarves, gnomes, halflings… these are all just humans with a skin condition or deformity of some kind.

My main is a human, because I’m playing my main GW1 character again (she was cursed with immortality.) I have alts of all the races, though, because I wanted to try all the different racial story options.
